  1. Just watched the local CBS News here in NYC..they had some pretty awful pictures of the BA during the storm. We hit one of those on the BA 2 years ago coming back to NY in an Aft Haven, a lot of broken glass and flooding. This looks to be worse but not horrible. Of course there is a family that had 9 rooms that are going to sue for their money back. I am sure the Captain wanted to sail into that mess...hope everyone has safe sailings from now on..

Some of that footage looked pretty wild. Water pouring down the stairs on the Deck 7 like that would have freaked me out. Exploding showers? Looking forward to the reviews on this one.

  2. Cagney's is grossly overrated.

Amen. Cagney's sucks. I thought it sucked when I tried it for the first time on a previous cruise, and I decided to give them a second chance since everyone raves about the place on these boards. It sucked again.

I got a fatty, gristley, untrimmed greasy ribeye that was unseasoned and overcooked. The crab cake was from canned meat and had zero lumps. You'd expect to find this quality crab cake at a strip club buffet in Reno. Not even Las Vegas. Reno.

The sides were small and cold, with the exception of the truffle fries, which were nicely fried and pretty damn tasty.

But yeah, screw Cagney's. I actually preferred La Cucina.

  3. Priority disembarkation is done separately even for walk offs. I have it because of my Sapphire CAS status and platinum gets it too (I am also platinum). I only know the Breakaway well not the other large ships but on the Breakaway you head to the Manhattan dining room where you will find priority walk off. It is roped off and you need to show your card in order to be given this access. You will walk right off the ship with no wait while the line for regular walk off is long.

Hope that helps someone and happy cruising :)

Gold members also get priority disembarkation.

  4. "Seafood Night" in the Garden Cafe is vile. It's a bunch of shrimp and tilapia (SO MUCH TILAPIA) that NCL has to get rid of before it goes rancid.

The one thing to look out for is Jamaican night. On the Breakaway they do an oxtail in Guinness gravy, and it's delicious. Fall off the bone tender meat, cooked with lots of onions and carrots. It reminded me of my grandmother's pot roast. They ran out of it pretty early in the night, too.

  5. Was not as easy as that. I told them i couldn't fly and they said it was not an option. I get terrible inner ear pain from flying. My ears are still "stuffed" from the flight and partially deaf. Extremely uncomfortable. Next time i learned my lesson and will not take no for an answer

So what did the people who got the private Haven cruise do, just physically refuse to get off the ship?

  6. This is a review of an angled balcony on the Breakaway. it is on deck 12 towards the aft by the last set of elevators. Does not look like any kind of special angled balcony...just the normal one but in this review they say they fit 2 chairs, a lounge and a table with no problems. Scroll down to the review for the Breakaway, deck 12, cabin #12272

This is encouraging. I'm on the Deck 10 in pretty much the same room, which would be the same size.
