I assume it looks like any other standard balcony room on the BA class. There's not much variation. Couch is by the balcony doors, according to the deck plans.

You don't need to worry about encountering any black mambas on your cruise.
-
Too bad you have to deal with the noise from SpiceH2o at night.

What's the thrill of seeing a huge laundry facility?

Cagney's is grossly overrated.
Amen. Cagney's sucks. I thought it sucked when I tried it for the first time on a previous cruise, and I decided to give them a second chance since everyone raves about the place on these boards. It sucked again.
I got a fatty, gristley, untrimmed greasy ribeye that was unseasoned and overcooked. The crab cake was from canned meat and had zero lumps. You'd expect to find this quality crab cake at a strip club buffet in Reno. Not even Las Vegas. Reno.
The sides were small and cold, with the exception of the truffle fries, which were nicely fried and pretty damn tasty.
But yeah, screw Cagney's. I actually preferred La Cucina.

One of the promos is 250 minutes, which seems like a lot, but on the BA they offer you a set amount at 1000mb's. Land on a video heavy site, and you can eat that up in 10 minutes easily.
On the Gem they do it by time. Anyone know the reason for the difference?
-
Careful. It's tough to go back to the window ledge balconies on the BA after having one of those awesome Deck 8 minisuites.

Tell me more. Hate cig smoke. Can you smoke on balcony? We will want a balcony. Or is it inside.
No you can't smoke on your balcony.
The casino is in the middle of the ship and not at all enclosed. Pretty much all of deck 6. 7 and 8 midships smells like a disgusting motel.
-
do you like cigarette smoke?

No frozen or processed ever? I️ wonder how “fresh” the meat or seafood is in most cruise ship restaurants.

100% of the seafood brought onboard NCL's ships is pre-frozen.

What a waste of money for just 2 people.
Give it to charity and get a normal suite.

Priority disembarkation is done separately even for walk offs. I have it because of my Sapphire CAS status and platinum gets it too (I am also platinum). I only know the Breakaway well not the other large ships but on the Breakaway you head to the Manhattan dining room where you will find priority walk off. It is roped off and you need to show your card in order to be given this access. You will walk right off the ship with no wait while the line for regular walk off is long.
Hope that helps someone and happy cruising :)
Gold members also get priority disembarkation.

"Seafood Night" in the Garden Cafe is vile. It's a bunch of shrimp and tilapia (SO MUCH TILAPIA) that NCL has to get rid of before it goes rancid.
The one thing to look out for is Jamaican night. On the Breakaway they do an oxtail in Guinness gravy, and it's delicious. Fall off the bone tender meat, cooked with lots of onions and carrots. It reminded me of my grandmother's pot roast. They ran out of it pretty early in the night, too.

Ever seen an restaurant sign with "Best Coffee In Town" on it?
Kinda like that.
-
Seriously a fresh burger in the buffet is just as good.
-
I've never seen little kids in the sundeck area at the very front of the ship. It's a designated quiet zone.

Look for someone who is breastfeeding a baby and try to make friends.

If you're cruising solo can you order 2 apps, 2 entres, and 2 desserts, since the voucher includes one of each for a party of 2?

Did you make your money or inherit it?

Not all the minisuites are under the pool deck, but most of them are.
Keep in mind that most of the minisuites also have a large overhang. Some like that because it gives you lots of shade, others (like me) don't because it largely cuts off your view of the sky.

Was not as easy as that. I told them i couldn't fly and they said it was not an option. I get terrible inner ear pain from flying. My ears are still "stuffed" from the flight and partially deaf. Extremely uncomfortable. Next time i learned my lesson and will not take no for an answer
So what did the people who got the private Haven cruise do, just physically refuse to get off the ship?
-
I wonder how many passengers claimed they "couldn't fly" so they could enjoy a few extra days in the Haven on the ship....

It was covered earlier in the thread that they are about 40ft on both ships. But if it will make you feel better a coworker of mine was on Getaway on the 10th floor and was able to get a lounger plus 2 regular chairs on her balcony. Her balcony angled forward in case that matters.

Did your co-worker just have to tip the room steward to get it?

This is a review of an angled balcony on the Breakaway. it is on deck 12 towards the aft by the last set of elevators. Does not look like any kind of special angled balcony...just the normal one but in this review they say they fit 2 chairs, a lounge and a table with no problems. Scroll down to the review for the Breakaway, deck 12, cabin #12272

This is encouraging. I'm on the Deck 10 in pretty much the same room, which would be the same size.
Is the BREAKAWAY OK!!???

Some of that footage looked pretty wild. Water pouring down the stairs on the Deck 7 like that would have freaked me out. Exploding showers? Looking forward to the reviews on this one.
