  1. Next it was through the mountains across the island into the rainforest on a wonderful road of switchbacks and hairpins. I wish the road was one-way and I could drive it in my car. We could spy the Enchanted, also in port for the day.
  2. On to Martinique this morning. Patter for the day coming later. We booked a private north island tour with Beyond the Beach for the day. Our guide, Stefané, was fantastic. Our first stop was the old Sacre Cœur Church.
  3. We used one of our two casual dining credits for planks this evening. The potato chowder was amazing. The pulled pork, pulled chicken, and smoked sausages were excellent, but I found the brisket a bit lacking, with far too much fat. Great sauce, as always.
  4. After purchasing some cocoa, it was off to a waterfall and river that we could wade into. Then it was back to the ship. A very nice tour with a great guide.
  5. Then on to one of the highlights of the tour, La Maison du Cacao, where we learned about the production of chocolate, and got to sample all the steps of the production process, as well as the liquid chocolate drink the Aztecs enjoyed. Definitely a must-see, but the English presentations are limited, so check ahead.
  6. We and another couple booked a private tour of Guadeloupe with Karine from Kio Tours Guadeloupe and she was fantastic. She’s a French lady who came to Guadeloupe eight years ago, and gave us an excellent tour. First stop was Longueteau Rhum Agricole de la Guadeloupe, a smaller distillery not visited by ship tours. We toured the beautiful grounds, and of course, had a tasting.
  7. I doubt there’s anything free. The other tournaments, like blackjack, have an entry fee of $20.
  8. Patter for Guadeloupe day. Sorry, I’m a bit behind, had a couple of fantastic full days.
  9. The show in the theatre tonight was something so unique, I’ve never seen anything like it on a cruise before. The artist creates works of art out of sand, live on a backlit glass sandbox, with an overhead camera projecting on the screen for the audience. It’s a husband/wife team, with the husband doing the music. Here’s a snippet. Her talent is amazing, and it’s almost sad when she wipes it away for a new scene. IMG_0929.mov
  10. MDR Dinner tonight was another hit. I cannot express enough how wonderful Head Waiter Magdelena, waiter Armando, and junior waiter Chelsey are. I had the pork loin and it was excellent.
  11. Back on board, enjoying a margarita at Outrigger with a beautiful backdrop.
  12. Docked beside the Crystal Serenity. Last year in St. Kitts, I had a Carib lemon radler, and loved it. I went ashore in search of it, but nobody has had it in months. Hoping to find it in Grenada.
  13. How someone could eat one of these every day, let alone two, is beyond me.
  14. Everyone was looking dapper this evening in Formal Night clothes. The production show tonight was Rock Opera, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. All the performers put on a great show. Then it was time to hit the casino. After an hour and a half of blackjack, we spent some time at the poker table until someone came over and said the casino was closing in ten minutes. All in all, a fantastic evening at sea, and I’m even up $60.
  15. MDR Dinner tonight. The beef tenderloin was melt-in-your-mouth perfect. The duck, not so much (sorry for the bite out of the beef before remembering the pic).
  16. We lucked out with our location in the Sanctuary. Not windy at all. But on the port side, it’s crazy windy.
