That was my second question ever on cruise critic 14 years ago and I was blasted for it lol times have changed so yes go ahead and wear them and you will not be out of place
-
I would try them except for the simple fact that I do not eat jello from buffets. The reason is that it is a favorite of children and I have seen waaaaaaay too many kids pick up the jello with their fingers and then put it back.
On the Fascination we watched several kids pick up the cubes and lick them and put them back all the while staff witnessed this and did nothing about it.

There is indeed a hair salon on Fascination. I visited it once and had the best haircut of my life by a girl named Karen or Karin-she pronounced it car-in so I am not sure about the spelling but she was from Australia I believe.
It really was a delightful experience and I would do it again in a heart beat.
p.s. if you go and see that she is there could you report back to us?

It depends on individual tastes and what climate you're accustom to! ;)
As you're also from Ontario, as I recall by the afternoon of "Day 2" (e.g. the day after you sail away from New York) it was warm enough for shorts.
Noel
Thanks!!

Yes, in the fall of 2012, Brilliance of the Seas did a series of New England and Canada cruises...longer sailings...some went all the way up to Quebec City and Newfoundland.
The Nov 2, 2012 sailing I was on was the repositioning: eight nights, Cape Liberty to San Juan, with stops in St Kiits, St Maarten, Tortolla and St Thomas. My favourite itinerary ever!

Do you recall how many days into your cruise when it was warm enough for shorts ? We are leaving from NY in October and just trying to decide what to pack in terms of clothing. We are also fro Ontario so I know starting out it will be cool.

I keep our id and ship cards plus cash and a credit card in a water wallet around my neck. We use our Carnival lanyard to secure our beach bag to the chair loosely because one time in Grand Turk we had some people try to take our beach bag. Fortunately DH had used something else to do the same. At the time I thought that was useless because it's not like a metal chain or anything sturdy but it was enough to make it inconvenient to grab and run with our bag.
Our camera is an inexpensive waterproof one that came with a mini life preserver that goes around your wrist so if the camera comes off it floats and is easy to retrieve.

We are also looking at storing our luggage or taking a ship excursion that also brings us to the airport. Where is it we can store it?

We are sailing on the Carnival Splendor in October with another couple. Our flight lands close to the same time and we are all taking the Carnival transfers. Does anyone know if one bus goes to all the terminal at LGA or a separate bus for each one?

We were on the Celebrity Constellation last fall on a Greece/Turkey cruise with friends in an Oceanview cabin. Same problem with ants, friend went down to guest services in middle of night. They offered her a cabin change in middle of night but she wasn't going to wake hubby. Cabin stewards in morning said they didn't see ants when they came by but she saw them again and scooped them into a baggie to show guest services. They were upgraded quickly to a midship deck 8 balcony, got free dinner at specialty restaurant, and offered a hefty OBC for their next cruise.

My friend did make a video of the ants to show guest services.

Why could they not stay in the new room both nights? It was only a 2 night cruise.
The cruise was 7 days not 2. They were unable to stay in the second cabin because the passengers who originally booked it were joining the ship in St Thomas late.
My friend was told by one of the staff members that a previous occupant had complained that she found an ants nest in her luggage when she unpacked at home so they do know about it prior to the sail date.
They were offered a complimentary dinner at a specialty restaurant but turned that down as he was more concerned about the health of his children than a free meal.
-
Yes, Carnival offers this but if your cruise doesn't suck within 24 hours of sailing, you're out of luck. :D
In my friend's case the ants came marching in right after sailaway
so it would have come in handy.
-
I think Carnival does.
OP, what deck and cabin did your friend have?
They were in was deck 12-cabins 12213 and 12211

My good friend just got off of Oasis and reported back to us that he had ants in his cabin. He did complain to guest services and offered a different cabin for one night so they could spray his. This friend was traveling with his wife and three young children in two adjoining cabins. He also happens to be a doctor and was very concerned about his kids inhaling these pesticides.
So now I am curious if Royal offers the same type of vacation guarantee that other cruise lines have-the kind where the cruiseline will fly you home if you are not satisfied with your vacation. So do they?

We booked a 10:30 am flight last year out of Tampa. Never again. As luck would have it there was a delay getting off the ship. We did make it but were running for the gate and the last passengers on the plane.
-
We drink their Bigelow chamomile tea every night
-
So what would happened if she booked it with you as 2nd person and she was a no show?

I am wondering this myself.

Passion island gets worse each time we go. The first time the food was awesome and the beach was gorgeous. Last year when we went we got ripped off by a shop keeper who lied and said a gem stone in a piece of jewelry was genuine and the food was like old cafeteria food. I for one am done with passion Island,

On our Breeze cruise last month were went to GS on the first day right after sailing away to report a cabin below us where quite a few people were shouting profanities from the balcony (and believe me I can swear like a sailor so it takes a lot to offend me)and tossing many cigarette butts over the balcony which then blew back onto the ship. With just the swearing I was going to chalk it up to youthful excitement but when i saw these fools could kill someone with their errant butts if they started a fire I felt I had to do somehting.
To their credit security came to my cabin immediately after we reported it and saw for themselves and took care of it right away.

They are most definitely pigeon peas. Our bartender showed us the packaging from them.

We sailed on the breeze a few weeks ago and did YTD. We never waited more than one minute .
-
cookie & ice cream sandwhiches, or brownies with ice cream
Just tried this (two weeks ago on the Breeze) using two chocolate chip cookies and putting ice cream between after reading your post. It was awesome. Thanks for sharing
-
we had this cabin 10275 on the Breeze last week and it was the best cabin ever. Close to all the food and lido pool and zero noise.
-
What was your cabin number?

Last week on our cruise the cruise director said that Carnival will no longer be offering deep discounts on last minute sailings. He said there will be a base price that they will not go below which may very well leave cabin empty but they feel it is preferable to having passengers wait until the last minute to book. He said they would be making offers like onboard credit or cabin upgrades etc through the VIFP club more often though.

We have been to Cabbage beach 6 times. 5 times it was calm and beautiful and 1 time it was just like the OP said.
