  1. If your level isn't on your seapass, you need to see him. [emoji6]

If you go to the cage, they sometimes can put your sticker on your card. In the past, my VIP sticker has already been on my sea pass when I checked in at the pier and I received an envelope with my internet code. My level was not printed on my sea pass card because the ship did not have that capability yet. No need to find the casino host. However, I do realize each ship does things differently.

  2. Try clearing out your cookies, history, etc. and then reboot your computer. What is perplexing is that you have tried a different computer and you still have problems.

You can also try to get into any upcoming cruise through the cruise planner from the main page without logging in ... click on 'already booked' and then 'cruise planner'. I also used that method to check in after reading how others were having problems with the new website. I do not have problems logging into the new website to see past cruises and current cruises. Waiting for documents to show up for my August cruise. It's really the only link I need from the new website to print out luggage tags.

  3. That's the problem - I asked if I could have the casino rate and forego the $1,000 certificate (actually, I have two - one is mine for $1,000 and one form my husband, who only plays for short periods at table games). He told that was the casino rate - the same price that I booked at on the ship (which was way higher than it used to be. Something weird is happening with CR and I don't care for it - feeling very disrespected and un-appreciated. All that rep wanted to do was get me off the phone ASAP. Swiss (P.S. He also never mentioned a free cruise for my tier level)

I was told that if both a husband and wife receive certificates on a cruise, they can apply both certs to book a cruise. Has this changed? Keep calling CR until you get someone who will take the time to help you. You can always hang up and call back. Not sure how bookings are handled that have been made on the ship and not through CR first.

Don't forget that you only have 30 days from the issue date on the certs to use them whether you use them on a listed cruise on the certificate or use the money value.

  4. I am so confused (and sounds like many of you are as well). Just returned from a 10 day Anthem cruise and received a certificate for $1,000 off future cruise (balcony) and learned that I am Prime. I booked next year's cruise while onboard and was told I could switch it to Casino Royale and get the CR rates (as I have also done in the past, upon my return home. I called this afternoon and after a lengthy wait, finally got someone. This rep told me he could apply my cruise certificate to the res. I already had. I then asked about getting the casino rate first and then applying the $1,000. He told me that I can't have the casino rate AND the $1,000 off for my certificate - either one, not both. I have not heard this before. BTW, prior to sailing this last week I called CR and asked about my tier level, I was told I was sent an email. I never got one and asked what my tier level meant (Prime). The rep told me to "google it". Seriously??? Bottom line is this: were any of you able to get the casino rate AND apply your certificates you received on board from your play? Feeling pretty disgusted with Royal and CR right now. To make it worse, booked a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit GLS ....GRRRR..... Thanks for any info, Swiss

Call back and talk to someone else at CR. Keep calling until you get someone who sounds like they know what they are talking about. If you are prime, you are also eligible for a comp'd cruise (inside cabin) before March 31, 2019. As for the certificate, make sure you book within 30 days of the issue date or you will lose it.

  5. (1) We have been told by various cruisers how easy and/or how how difficult it is to get to the cruise terminal in Bayonne, NJ. We will be flying from Atlanta. What is the best airport to land in? How far is it to the cruise terminal from that airport?

    (2) We usually fly in a day or so ahead of the scheduled cruise, so are there plenty of hotels nearby the terminal?

    (3) If anyone has been on the Canadian/New England/ Fall Foliage cruises, we would love to hear your comments. We know the Caribbean like the backs of our hands, but this would be the first time for a New England cruise.

Web sites that can be used to look for hotels in the Newark/Bayone/Cape Liberty area. Most have free shuttles from the Newark airport to the hotel.

    trinityreservations.com

    parksleepfly.com

    stay123.com

    buyreservations.com

Can always check Uber for transportation to the port if hotel charges for transfers.

  6. With this first sea day almost over, I will post a few highlights and ship pictures tonight.

I have to say that the Promenade Café has kicked it up a notch in the breakfast department. Loved these little burritos!

I tried to post the donuts picture, but Tapatalk does not accept “this kind of image” [emoji23] I wonder what exactly they think it is...

Do they serve any specialty coffees in the promenade cafe?

  7. Lol....private so people don't hear a 1 year old who never closes his mouth ha ha

We were at Labadee in February and rented a cabana/beach bungalow at Columbus Cove. No steps to the water. Really nice. The cabanas at Nellie's beach have a porch. The beach bungalows at Columbus Cove do not. The buffet is very close to the bungalows. Your attendant will make sure there is a lounger chair for each of you. Lots of shade.

  8. How did you do this. We sail in August and the cruise planner says to book on board. We have a GS booked so want the Barefoot Beach ones.

To get a cabana at Barefoot Beach, you will be notified about 2 weeks before you sail and you request the rental thru the concierge. Cabanas will be offered to Star class first and then Sky class.

  9. Haven't been on a cruise in awhile so the print your own luggage tags is new to me. Rather than just staple them on can someone suggest a good place to find some sort of holder? Guess I could do a search for something but wanted to see if people have one brand that seems to holdup better. Thanks!

Amazon has them. Search for luggage tag holders for cruise ships. I have the narrow ones with zip seal and steel loops. Have been using them for 2 years. Love them!!

  10. I am sorry, I am leaving on a plane in just a little while so haven't had the time to read this whole thread, so if my questions have been asked before, I apologize. How do I accumulate points in the casino? Do I need to sign up for a player's card? Do you still register with a casino host if you are an Mlife member, pearl or higher? Thank you for any help.

You use your sea pass card in the casino. Insert into the slot machine before playing or your sea pass card will be swiped at the table by the dealer. If you are a Mlife member, your points on the ship are not transferrable. Which means, if you have not been on a cruise within the last year or so to accumulate any points, you start with 0 points on the ship. Let the casino host know you are a Mlife member and they will tell you how many points you need to accumulate on the ship to qualify for the VIP sticker which gives you free drinks while playing and a waiver for the 5% convenience fee if you request money on your sea pass account from the casino. Ask the casino host for the chart showing the Club Royale (CR) tiers and the benefits for each level -- Choice (1 - 2499 points), Prime (2500 - 24,999 points), Signature (25,000 - 99,999 points), Masters (over 100,000 points). Points are accumulated on RC cruises throughout the year (Apr 1 - Mar 31) to determine your tier for the next year. So if you cruise and gamble a lot, you can rack up the points. I am not sure if CR points are recognized for perks thru Mlife. I have heard that you can earn comp'd cruises on RC as a Mlife member and the points earned thru Mlife. Have fun on your cruise and good luck in the casino.

  11. I was given my status perks on my two April cruises. This was before people who answer the phones at CR were provided the information. I also was told in May after several calls an email would be going out early June. Never received it. Yesterday I called and politely asked for the email to be sent to me while I waited on the phone. And CR rep did email it to me while I was on fhe phone with her. She did inform me that many did not receive the initial emails and that names were put on a list of those who did not receive. But being on a list does no good. I have learned I have to be pro active. sigh.

Good to know. I am going to call again. Maybe they will email me while I wait.

  12. Signature is not lowest tier. Choice is. Call Club Royal and ask (politely insist) for an email from them verifying your tier level and your husband’s tier level and the benefits that go with each.

Good luck with that. I called was told I would receive the email in a few days. A 'few days' have come and gone many times. Glad I am not holding my breath. I did have the opportunity to enjoy the perks of signature status during the pilot roll out. I was on the Grandeur for 4 consecutive cruises starting April 5th of this year and received my status of 'signature', the VIP sticker, and free surf and stream VOOM for all 4 cruises. Needless to say, I did not know any of this prior to boarding the ship and nobody at CR could tell me if the program was starting on April 1st. Grandeur's casino does not open until Day 2 of the cruise but they were handing out the stickers and giving us our tier and internet codes (if applicable) right after muster. I did not get a letter about my status until the 2nd cruise.

  13. I misspoke...he is Choice...I am Prime...so we get the Cruise now? Is there a list to choose from? When do we have to book and when do we have to sail?

You can book now. There is no list for the comp'd cruise. Any 8 nights or less on any ship before March 31, 2019. Somewhere there is a chart showing the benefits for each level. Your status of 'prime' is good for all sailings between now and March 31, 2019 which means you will get the sticker when you sail in December and also on your free cruise.

  14. Ok...so I'm totally confused....here is the situation:

We were on the Freedom in January 2018. I received $750 certificate and my husband received $200 certificate. I was also given a list of cruises that would be free...none fit with the dates we wanted. So, we used the certificates to get the $950 off of our Gradeur cruise to be taken in December 2018 (Grand Suite - first timers:D)

I called Casino Royale and was informed that I would be a Prime Member in December (I didn't receive an email). My Husband called and he is Signature (the lowest tier)...he is not a happy camper.

I see where you all are booking cruises, based on what? I'm not understanding what I get as a Prime member, other than the free drinks in he casino and the waived fee for cash. HELP??????

If your husband is signature, that is the 3rd tier which comes with the sticker, free internet and a comp'd balcony cruise of 8 nights or less any time between now and March 31, 2019 excluding holiday sailings. Your tier is the 2nd tier which comes with the sticker, 30% off an internet package and a comp'd inside cruise of 8 nights of less etc. The tiers are from the lowest to highest ... choice, prime, signature and masters. Not everyone received emails from CR. I didn't get one either and I am signature. Congrats on your CR status!!

  15. Hi Everyone, I recently booked a cruise through casino royale and received about $350 off. We havent sailed since last December so we didn't have a certificate to apply. but I am wondering, is this similar? I ask because I note that someone posted that a $400 certificate is equal to about 800 points or so, however, I received my email and I am choice. I called to verify my points and didnt accumulate nearly that many. Just wondering if this casino discount is something separate? Thanks!

I believe it is 1800 points for a $400 certificate. If you are a member of CR, you can call them to book a cruise any time and most times they can give a discount of something.

  16. I have been on the phone with them a lot (since Feb 2018). And above is what the supervisors have told me, for the roll out. The free cruise and the drink sticker meant a lot to us. We like to have a frozen drink before turning in for the night. So that saves us about $30 a night.

I booked one of our free cruises 7 night Harmony July 7, 2018 (also was able to upgrade to a WS guarantee) They did explain about Holidays. They are not the Holidays that Royal usually recognizes. All the USA holidays are blackout dates. I'm surprised they didn't include "groundhog day" LOL.

All in all it seems to be a fair program any 8 night or less cruise (except for the holidays)

If you upgrade you can not use Royal's balcony discount. They just look at the difference between the room they allow you (lowest price in your tier category) and what you upgrade to. It only cost me $700 to upgrade from an inside to a WS guarantee.

Unlike the Pinnacle free cruise where you get Zero points unless you upgrade to a suite. You will get Crown and Anchor points for the category you sail in.

Another change is they are enforcing the "must book by 30 days" rule. I just booked a cruise for Jan and it was 31 days from the date of the certificate. But we got the certificate 2 days before the end of the cruise. So after so wrangling ( and discussing with supervisor) they accepted the certificate.

I agree that it appears to be a fair program. I like the sticker too. I'm not a big drinker but is nice to have a pina colada once in a while. They also were fair with the "must book by 30 days" rule since I was on the ship for 4 consecutive cruises - 35 days. By the time I got off the ship, my first certificate officially expired. The one guy (definitely rude) told me I should have called while on the ship to use the certificate. When I called later and got a lady, she told me they are to use 30 days after you get off the ship if on consecutive cruises. It does really depend who you talk to. Always good to call back later if you think they don't understand the program.

I read on another post that the holidays does include President's Day but they were able to book the prior week over Valentine's Day. NOW, I would have thought that Valentine's Day was a biggie!!! Just like Groundhog's Day ... lol.

  17. What everyone needs to remember is this .... if you are prime today and cruise this month and get 25,000 points, then you cruise again in August, you are still prime. Your status will not change to signature until April 1 of the following year and will remain signature until March 31 of the following year. All points you accumulate during a 'CR year' (Apr 1 - Mar 31) determines your tier for the next CR year.

AND, to further confuse everyone, if you are on a 9 day cruise that starts on Mar 29 and you are prime but during the CR year you accumulated 25000 points, will your tier change to signature on Apr 1 during the cruise? Probably not. SO, don't plan a cruise that crosses between CR years or you may not be a happy camper and all the complaining and emails you send to the CEO will not matter to anyone!!!
