  1. A few of us on this post has been told different information

    Year 1 - April 1,2017 - March 31,2018, not the 18 months

OK. Then go with that. It really doesn't matter anyway. It is what it is. It will be yearly eventually no matter IF they used a grandfather method or NOT to start up the program. Enjoy your status!!

  2. I tried to redeem points for OBC and this is the response:

"Unfortunately, it looks like you already have casino offers on your reservation. MyVegas offers are not combinable with any other casino offers. Thank you for your understanding."

Guess the points are nothing more than useless points.

  3. Haven't been following this new program development closely, so I apologize in advance if my questions have been addressed before. I didn't get any email from CR about my level, but I just got off Ovation and they told me I am Prime...so I am eligible for a free inside cabin, is that correct? If so, I should just contact CR to book it?

Yes, give CR a call. The free cruise must be taken by March 31, 2019. No longer than 8 nights and not over a holiday. Congrats!!

  4. I agree. I don’t care if I’ve already read everything in the email here, I still want the email.

And if there’s nothing specific in the email, why is it so hard to send duplicates? Makes no sense to me.

There is no sense to any of this. Don't feel left out. There are many of us who did not receive 'the email' and we are signature. I did receive 'the form letter' in my stateroom on my last cruise in April and May congratulating me on signature level with the chart on the back side. I also was given an internet code for free surf and stream on a small card.

An email was sent to my husband with my email address (we do use the same email address) welcoming him to 'choice' level which he attained because I put $20 in a machine for him to play. If you would like a copy of that email, which will give you the same information other than your tier level, I will be happy to forward to you!!!

  5. I’m on Anthem now. Slots were fair the first two days but since then have been VERY tight. Multiple conversations with other gamers and I’ve heard the same from them. That said I boarded as a “prime” member of the casino program. Got up to 1800 points playing slots before deciding to stop ad they’re too tight. What happens, if anything, at this level of play?

There is a chart by the money cage showing the points and awards. You need 2400 points for a free inside cabin from the list or $500 off another cruise which all has to be booked within 30 days of the issue date on the certificate. You can request a list of comp'd cruises for the 2400 level from the casino host. In addition to the certificate awards, don't forget to cash in your points for either additional play or OBC before the end of the last night.

  6. I'd also like to know about the friends program. I travel solo with a friend and we always get our own cabins. It would be nice if I could save her some money. If anyone calls before me, could you find out if it could be used for cruises already booked through the next cruise desk?

Hi Gaylemh ... I'm on the Anthem on Oct. 27th also. Maybe I'll see you in the casino since the M&M keeps going back to zero each week.

  7. That's not what I was old many time by lots of different people. First year July 2016-12/31/17 - Second year January 1, 2018 - March 31, 2019 - Those two period were the soft roll out. After that it would be April 1 - March 31st. My tier reflected the 18 months. I have over 10,000 points already from January-March so they better be counting them towards next year.

Knowing Royal, that will all change before the first year is up, and we'll be trying to figure out another whole new program.

That is what I was told as well. They are doing a 'grandfather' system to give everyone a fair chance with the new system.

  8. So, I launched an email off to Club Royale today expressing my confusion over their calculations. Additionally, I had my 2017 RC Loss win/loss statement, so I was able to demonstrate to them that to achieve that loss theoretically (actually) over that many cruise days, with a nominal house advantage at craps of 1.5 %, playing 4 hours a night, at 60 rolls per hour....would require $195/roll (pretty close to true) and over $46,000 a night in play. Remembering I cruised close to a month (7 cruises - 27 days) of the 18 month reporting period....and they gave me 13,000 points....mid Prime. Any reduction in the number of rolls or hours/night only increases the $$/roll. 1.5% is a fairly conservative house advantage for craps. Something is wrong......

I'll let you know what they say....but MLIFE (Beau Rivage and Vegas) may be getting more of my action.

If you had 13,000 points between July 2016 and December 2017, then it would be safe to say you should be Prime tier. It doesn't matter how much you spent, etc., it is based on the points you received from the onboard casino. As a side comment, even though it may not apply to you, any points received at a MLife casino are not transferrable and are not used to determine your tier on the ship.

On a cruise earlier this year, there was a couple who was there on a comp'd cruise through MLife and had no points with CR. They questioned why they did not receive the VIP sticker. As soon as they reached 1000 points in the casino, they got the sticker. This was during the 'pilot' rollout in April so I am not sure how the casino hosts will handle these situations in the future. It may be that each casino has their own rules for 'MLife only' guests.

It was explained to me by a CR rep that they do not know how points are calculated on the ship to award the certificates and the casino hosts do not know how CR handles the certificates and our points. It appears to be true.

  9. Can someone clarify this for me......on utilizing previous certificates, the practice had been I had to book the cruise within 30 days of certificate award if I was selecting from the list of available cruises. However, if I was choosing to use the cash ($1000 or $750 value) I was not restrained by the 30 day restriction as long as I used it inside the calendar year.

I was on the phone with Club Royale yesterday, and she told me I had to use the $1000 certificate within 30 days of certificate reward.

    Thoughts?

It has always been that the certificates had to be used within 30 days whether selecting from the list or using the cash value. They just were not enforcing the latter. As of the middle of May, that all changed and they are now enforcing the 30 day rule for either option.

  10. I called today and received word that I was Choice. Somewhat disappointed since over the 18 month reporting period, i took 6 cruises and my play earned free balconies on 5 of those 6. If free cruise cert kicks in at 4800 points, and i earned 5 of them, not sure how i got only 13,000 points toward determining my new status

Have them double check your points. There have been posts where mistakes had been made on tier levels and corrected.

  11. That’s very interesting. First confirmation I’ve had that the free cruises could be combined. I wonder if they will “waive” the 8 day max if they’re willing to “waive” the holiday exclusion.

OK. I am going to go out on a limb here. I read their explanation as meaning that to receive a comp'd cruise, it could not be over a holiday and 8 nights or less; however, you can choose to use the money value of the 'certificate' on a cruise longer than 8 nights or over a holiday.

In the past, if both a husband and wife each had their own certificate, they could combine the money value of both certificates for one cruise. We could not combine multiple certificates for the same person.

  12. You were in land long enough to call them? 😂 Did you get the email? Wondering if they are doing them in alphabetical order or something. We still have not received anything but do know are levels.

Alphabetical order by first or last name? OH, my last name is the same as DH and he got his email. Hmmmm ... our first names are only 2 letters apart. LOL I thought maybe since I use the same email address for both of us that his email got sent and mine went into the black hole!!

  13. I just talked to a CR rep. Didn't receive an email even tho my DH (who uses the $20 I put in the machine for him once or twice) got one yesterday!!! He did verify my tier which I had already used on 4 cruises in April and May on the Grandeur during the 'pilot'. He said I didn't really need the email.

He also verified my tier for next year (starting April 1, 2019) based on my casino play on the 8 cruises I have completed since January of this year. So ... with that said ... and as Gaylemh has stated in an earlier post, I was told everyone is being grandfathered in ... your tier starting April 1 of this year to March 31, 2019 was based on casino play from July, 2016 to December, 2017. Your tier starting April 1, 2019 will be based on casino play from January, 2018 to March 31, 2019 and then yearly from there (April 1 - March 31). So your tier for a current year will be recalculated each year based on casino play from the prior year's play.

I read the email. It doesn't say this.

  14. In order to get checked in for my cruise in August, I had to use the link on the main RC page under Already Booked. When I tried to check in on the new web site where the cruise is listed, it said my sailing was being updated. Good Luck!!! I never got documents for my last cruise in May. Hoping to get those somewhere along the way so I can print out luggage tags.

  15. Mine was lower (choice) than what they told me/I received on the Oasis in April. Even confirmed my “prime” level via discussion with CR rep 2 weeks ago when I was trying to reprice my next cruise.

Somehow not surprised by their screw up.

Let’s see if they make it right.

Only received an email for my husband who only played $20 one time. They do have him at choice. We use the same email address so hope that did not screw up my email. At the end of the email, in small print, it does have his name and C&A number. Still waiting ....

  16. If you have any unused certificates that are 30 days past the issue date, they cannot be used. CR changed their policy about a week or so ago and they will not honor the certificate value past the 30 day issue date. They are not sending out any information about the new policy either. Not sure who I can write to about this issue. It is no longer beneficial to spend time in the casino and earn any certificates unless you have a specific booking so it can be used within 30 days.

There is still no information being disseminated about the new program and the comp'd stateroom that comes with the new tier statuses. My concern is that once the new program is released throughout the fleet, how long do we have to book the comp'd stateroom. Unless we receive an email or information in a timely manner, I could lose that comp also.

  17. I'm booked on the Oasis, and I called CR about upgrading from my inside to an Oceanview balcony. $162 more, plus the gentleman asked my if I was going to book one of my comped offers so I booked the Enchantment for port taxes. This will finally put me at Diamond status. I had no idea about any comped cruises.

You should have been upgraded for free since there is a 'free upgrade' promotion going on for most sailings. Not unless the Oasis is not included in the promotion. Congrats on Diamond status!!!

  19. On Harmony. Talked with Casino Host. He gave me my sticker. He says it’s a pilot program that has not yet rolled out to Harmony. ????

I was told it rolled out to all ships on April 1st. Stay on top of them. They should know your tier and you should be receiving the amenities with that tier. I did receive an access code for the internet from the casino host. It was a little piece of paper but it works. They did have to put my sticker on my sea pass. In the past, it has been on my sea pass when I received it. I am on a b2b2b2b and was told that the sticker should be on my sea pass on the next sailing but I would still have to stop by the casino to get my new access code for the internet. Good luck.

  20. A little off subject... We have a group doing a slot pull on Adventure during our May 5 sailing. There are 66 of us at 25 pp. The person organizing this reached out to the asst. Casino host about a few small swag for the top three. The asst. Host wanted the group to pay 15% to the casino and move the time and day. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

Hi Maryjaden. I am currently on the Grandeur and asked about your issue since I have held slot pulls in the past also. I was told that if you ask the casino to host the slot pull and set up designated slot machines, they do request a percentage. With that said, there must be a misunderstanding. As long as you hold the slot pull yourself, there is no charge. Let them know that you are holding the slot pull. And if you ask them for a few buckets of goodies for prizes, they are usually happy to help out. Good luck.
