I believe April 12th has been mentioned as the date for a  travel update including cruising from the Govt. If that's the case then I think P&O might wait till then for any major announcement, apart from the odd tweak to the balance period so that no one needs to pay before then.

I have read through the road map, as published again, cannot find any reference to cruising either positive or negative, so where has the including cruising come from please?

Like Selbourne have I missed something?

Hi Selbourne.  If it's a fracture the its sort of straight away.   Having said that because they recommended a total replacement due to my age and fitness i had to wait a couple of days for the big cheese to do it.  If I had been 85 say they would have done a partial, ie just the ball and not the cup. That doesn't last as long .

Sorry to hear of your accident, hope you are not in to much discomfort, but pleased to learn that after the age of 85 they will still sort my ball out! very comforting

I pop £2880 into one of my wife’s pension funds once a year, which gives an immediate 20% return (£576), and we draw it out over following few months, keeping below the Personal Allowance so that its tax free. A tip from my Financial Advisor (or Wealth Manager as they are now ostentatiously called).

Edit - if you are wondering why £2880, that’s the most you can invest and get tax relief when you are no longer contributing as part of an employer pension scheme.

    I do the lottery!😄

The road map says 17th May at the earliest though, not 21st June.

The road map says step 3 to operate at least 5 weeks after step 2 but no earlier then the 17th May.

Step 3- 30 persons limited to meet outside and people will be able to mix socially in a group of 6 inside

Step 4 -to operate at least 5 weeks after step 3 but no earlier then 21st June.

So at this date 21st June, the 30 person outdoor and the 6 person indoor regulation will still be in place

So it necessarily follows that this is the earliest date possible and all contracts up to it are therefore Frustrated!

Yes...and I would imagine that they will hope that not too many passengers will cotton on, pay their full balances now, and then use their 125% FCC against a low season cruise in Feb 23 at launch price on Our Vera.  No doubt that Our Vera will be priced like Iona was to attract interest....

This is a good reason why they should get on with it.  Personally, I won't be paying my balance optionally, but that's just me and wanting to avoid giving them extra cash!

Up to at least the 21st June, your contract is classed as Frustrated, therefore your deposit must be returned to you by law.

  6. Sorry, totally disagree. each guest should be dealt with on there merit, not viewed as a small part on the whole. It is not a cost issue in MHO cost equals choice. Cruising is paused officially until 26th April ,final balance though TA shortly becoming due, for cruises after that date, so issue is very relevant at this time, is it a cruise to no where for these guests? If so no choice! Answers needed!

I wondered about this as well. Until around 5 years ago I was able to get my wife onto a coach by lifting her legs up the steps, one at a time, but it was always stressful trying to ensure that we secured seats at the front as she couldn’t move along through the coach and often elderly passengers (not particularly disabled, beyond a walking stick), had nabbed them. She can’t support herself long enough for me to do that now, so coaches are out. We now prefer to look around ports on our own, as I am able to push her around without any challenges or embarrassment.

Just one of the reasons (masks being another) why we have said from the outset that we don’t intend to cruise again until on board restrictions are lifted, so that we wouldn’t have to face these issues.

Selbourne, as you are aware, we are in the same situation, and have the same challenges, we have not seen any details from cruise company's, regarding addressing this important issue

A good number of guests on the cruises that we have taken, are disabled and use wheelchairs and a good number of them are unable to walk into a coach

I wonder how the bubble excursions will work for them?

Should have added that the normal Mercedes type vans, which are used in many ports and take 4 wheelchairs would constitute a hazard in regard to social distancing.

What are P&O Protocols regarding this issue?

    Any thoughts?

Although the organisation and delivery of my jab yesterday was faultless, I hope none of you have the sort of reaction I had last night. For a couple of hours I felt really unwell and couldn’t stop shivering which was quite unpleasant. At least I knew what was causing it and that it would pass. Still feeling a bit under the weather but nothing like how was feeling at 01:00 a.m.

    Pete

Same here, plus other then my heart, all my organs were on fire, have a intolerance to medication any way so was expecting a reaction.
