  1. Assuming availability, probably. That's up to the restaurant manager. We've done it once.
  2. When I was dealing with the South America trip, the price did go down more. When talking to them about something else, I asked about more OBC for that difference. The agent's comment was "well, if the price went up, we won't call you and ask for more money". And good thing, since that cruise was more the exception, since the price for our room is slightly higher with no tips or OBC.
  3. Yes. Lunch is 20.00 per person, and I've heard breakfast is 10.00
  4. I'm on this cruise as well, but not in a balcony (mini suite). For me, if I rebooked today, it would cost several hundred more, and I'd lose tips and a bunch of OBC. YMMV. I think one time, I got some extra OBC after final, and that was a very specific situation. We were in a Sky Suite on a South American/Antarctic itinerary, and the prices kept dropping (my guess was airfare had become ridiculous from North America). The price of a Celebrity Suite went to about 300.00 more than I paid for the Sky. So I paid 300.00 and moved us. The next day, it dropped to what we'd paid for the Sky Suite. I called and they gave us 300.00 refundable OBC. It was, I believe, because of the timing. It was also in 2019, so pre-pandemic. After the pandemic, pricing did become a little more rigid. And in 2022, I was in Maui at the "other side". We were back on the ship by noon, since there's not much there. I was looking forward to Maui, but we just rented a car for the first day in Hilo to go see Volcanos National Park since we'll now have time.
  5. We did that, until, midway through the validity (in 2010), mine got stolen. Now we're exactly offset - his expires in 2025, mine in 2030.
  6. No, but you never know if a great offer comes up, and you can't go. Or processing times will go back up. I guess my personal thinking is that when the passport gets to 6 months, it's a good idea to renew.
  7. I'd also recommend her renewing it ASAP after the cruise. DH's expires in January. In 2 weeks we head to Singapore for B2B2B, and get home May 6. On May 7, he's renewing. I was away with my sister February and one of his assignments was to prepare the application.
  8. Both. Your butler doesn't clean your room. And they do communicate, so if you're not sure who to ask, the message will get to the right person.
  9. That's sounds like what our Retreat host/room steward had on Apex. She was busy for sure, but very friendly. I told her she should consider applying to be a butler. I don't think she was interested though.
  10. Thanks. He does work very hard. While on the Beyond I ran into a butler of ours from the Summit (last dedicated one we had) who was an assistant waiter at the time. He said he's getting his butler job back mid march.
  11. Sorry, I thought you just said that the ratio was worse on S and E class, so I guess I didn't read it as addressing that the ratio will change. (And it is way worse on E, but I was asked not to post the actual number on cruise critic).
  12. That's for the head butler, when they roll out the regular "dedicated" butler, it will be less. That's too bad, in a way, since he told us he wanted to be a regular butler when they come. back. Tell him hello from Beth and Abby, if you can.
  13. No real idea, but if I had to guess, it was probably complaints and very inconsistant implementation of the team thing. I've done 3 so far with head butlers. One time the HB came in and introduced himself when we were dropping our carry ons, the others were within the 30 hours on board. In all cases, we got what we needed when we needed it, although food was delivered by a specific room service person (or one of 2). If everyone had our experience, the team thing might have worked out. But I heard of others who never did meet their head butler, so maybe inconsistency plays into it.
  14. On DH's first X cruise (my second as I sailed with my sister a month before) our toilet stopped working one night. We were in a sky suite, so I called the concierges and asked them to call GS. Apparently they did, because I noticed people working and when I came back from dinner, the toilet worked. For a little while. Then it stopped again. I called GS because concierges were long gone for the night. It was fixed for good the next morning, The next day, one of the concierges came over and gave us a small FCC as an apology.
  15. He's a head butler? He didn't just come from the Beyond (like 2 weeks ago) did he?
  16. Since they said they'd be back "In June", you should have one. I'm pretty sure that for a particular ship, it will be all or none. And yes, a cappuccino is a perfectly reasonable request. Our head butlers asked us if we wanted something like that when we called for morning coffee.
  17. You got your Go Green, plus double points. 2*35 = 70 plus 5 = 75. The Go Greens are not doubled. We had the same thing with a week on \the Apex.
  18. I was missing them for a recent cruise. I called, they said to give it up to 2 weeks. They did eventually show up (about a week give or take a few days). They said sometimes it doesn't get to the ship, so now I'll check each cruise. And I've never noticed a difference.
  19. I will now share what my friend did in high school to make her injury sound interesting. We were in her garage, and her mother's boyfriends motorcycle was there. She was showing it to me by walking it around the garage, and it managed to fall on her foot, breaking a bone. She went around school telling everyone she'd been in a motorcycle accident.
  20. I heard S class not until April. On the other hand, a butler my sister knows said he's come back to Celebrity as a butler on the Reflection. So, in part, that's why this thread.
  21. I'm thinking it might be worth it for those in Sky Suites to post here when they board with a dedicated butler. I think lots have questions on the roll out.
  22. First, I feel for you. It sucks to have a health issue and you can't cruise. (I had to cancel in 2022 two days before a cruise due to covid - at least it was at the tail end of coverage, so I was able to use the FCC to move it). That said, if you were to say that if Celebrity has your money therefore you get the points, that would change a lot of things. DH has paid for most of our cruises, so by that logic, I should be select and he'd be pretty close to zenith at this point. Also, if you ever get invited for a preview cruise on a new ship, you'd get the points even though you paid nothing. And all those people who get casino cruises? I think (correct me if I'm wrong) they get the points for their sailings, even though they're only paying taxes I think. Finally, what would happen if you cancel in 50% penalty? 50% of the points? So I don't think it's fair to call this unfair. You sail, you get points. Doesn't matter who paid or didn't pay. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion, but an opinion doesn't make a fact necessarily. I'm glad, by the way you had insurance. And I'm so sorry you had to miss what is probably a bucket list trip.
  23. Sorry - didn't mean to confuse you. I though you were saying that Celebrity would bring Indonesian officials on to help as mentioned in post #6, not Jim's post. All I was saying is that they knew well before the ship got to Darwin that they'd need to do that, but in our case, as yours (I think), Bali is the first stop, so they'd have to know by embarkation day that they'd need to do that. Jim's post did say that people wouldn't be allowed of the ship without the proper visa, the email we just got said they wouldn't be allowed on the ship without it. It was very clear about that point.
