  1. Thanks so much! So, if I understand correctly any onboard credit remaining can be given back to you in the form of cash or a refund to credit card?
  2. I would like to confirm what I have been told by Seabourn. Was told that our onboard credit cannot be used to book shore excursions prior to sailing. That we would need to book the shore excursions, pay with a credit card, and that once board, our credit card would be refunded for the cost of the excursions (even though there would not be an outstanding balance for these excursions once on board). I asked for documentation and was told they couldn't provide. Would appreciate confirmation from those where this process has worked. Also, what is Seabourn's cancellation policy regarding shore excursions? Thanks.
  3. We're trying to decide between the following cabins: 1132, 664 or 665 (across from each other), or 550. We're leaning toward 1132 as it appears to be the largest and really like the location near the Observation lounge and there appears to be a little deck seating overlooking the pool on the same level. 1132 has some balcony obstruction due to how the ship is constructed (with a slant), but this disadvantage seems to be outweighed by the location of the suite. Has anyone stayed in this suite, and if so, what are your thoughts? Thanks.
  4. We are on the August 30 cruise to Alaska. The last night there is an excursion to Victoria Gardens. Arrival time back to the ship is late, meaning we couldn’t have dinner in Luminae or the MDRs. Are there any options other than room service? How late is the OVC generally open?
  5. Thanks for the responses. I really appreciate it. Currently, there is widespread availability in all the suites. I’m wondering what the chances are that Celebrity might reduce the prices since the suites aren’t selling welll on this short cruise?
  6. I have read through the Move Up thread; unfortunately, I did not see any bid information relating to our specific instance. I was hoping some experienced cruisers could give me a rough idea of where to start to increase our chances of being successful.
  7. I’ve read some less than favorable reviews about Costa’s food, but when we went on a Costa cruise several years ago, the food was very good.
  8. Completely understand. I was just hoping some of you experienced cruisers might give me some idea of what you might bid for these suites on this short cruise. Currently, there is a lot of inventory for these suites.
  9. I am taking our daughter on a short (3 night) Caribbean cruise to give her a little break. I have booked a prime veranda cabin (near rear - on Silhouette). Can you give me an idea of what might be a good bid per person (so that I stand a decent chance) for: 1.Sky Suite 2.Sunset Sky suite 3.Celebrity suite 4.Royal suite Which of these are there more of on this ship (which would seem to increase our chances, provided they're not taken)? Also, we are not currently booked in the Retreat. If our Move Up request is approved for a suite, does this automatically place us in the Retreat, although we didn't originally book a Retreat suite? Thanks. p.s. I have looked at the Move-up thread, but cannot find my exact situation. As a newbie, I greatly appreciate your input.
  10. We are booked on the Edge for an upcoming cruise, in the Retreat. Although we look forward to dining at Luminae, we would like to have some meals in the MDRs. We cannot make reservations in advance according to our TA, but I’m wondering if we can use our any time dining and just show up, or (preferably) make reservations once on board?
  11. Thanks, everyone! This is the kind of feedback I was looking for.
  12. I have read many comments here but still am unsure about which suite to book. At this point, I have a choice between 1668/1665,9376/9301,8340/8347,or 7358/7309. I understand deck 10 should be avoided, if possible, due to the partial obstruction from the window washing equipment. I also understand that lower sunset veranda decks on this ship are not as private as they stick out further than those above, I’m leaning toward 1668, but am concerned that it may be too high or that we may hear noise from the pool deck above. Is the aft or starboard side better? Do both sides have the pole in the room? The renderings make it appear that the inside of the sunset sky suites on the 11th and 12th floors are a little larger? I’m wondering if the insides as well as the balconies of all sunset sky verandas are the same size regardless of location? Do prices of these suites tend to drop as the sail date gets closer if there are many left? Thanks for your help.
  13. If it's been more than 21 days after your deposit, what’s the best place to buy travel insurance that covers pre-existing conditions?
  14. We have a deposit on an upcoming cruise (August). Can we make dining reservations before we make our final payment?
