  1. dont forget to ask for the donut tray for bfast. i found in May they didnt bring it around as much but we asked for and received what we wanted. they cant get to everyone on one 'circle' of the restaurant.
  2. on another ship i the people in front of me tried to enter MTD and they were told you cannot just switch because your spot is there and not here with your set dining time, seat etc. then a long explanation ensued. not fun for them or the people waiting in back of them
  3. its not like haven on NCL, cant have CK deliver to your cabin sadly must have dinner reservations when we walked in 'during the day' we could get whatever soda or water we wanted because someone usually was around but never tried to get booze then in the evening all the booze is free yes and the letter will confirm the hours. and the SL does get full during those hours. also i found some of the 'snacks' in the SL actually pretty good. def a good place to snack. ive even stopped there after dinner!
  4. on oasis they had a good press your luck machine in the new room but it is a small odd shaped place for slots but it's a nice oasis from the crowd......................
  5. can someone list the prizes that are at these trivia games? im assuming rolex watches or something based on the need to win 🙂 even made the 'news' https://www.cruisehive.com/carnival-cruise-line-addresses-cheating-claims-at-trivia/106432
  6. you can get the filet for one as in my pics here. it was excellent and i'm glad my TA gave me a specialty meal with my trip 🙂
  7. i follow pricing every single day..been 2 villas available for weeks..yesterday one got snagged and only one left and the price is cheaper! shouldnt it be more expensive? TA told me overall pricing is 500 cheaper but my obc goes down 150 but still every bit counts on a suite. so down 3050 to 2900 for overall obc and ill have to cash out the 800 X credit thru the slot machine. but he will mail me a check for his portion after the cruise.
  8. great to know. TA got it changed and we got confirms all other reservations were cancelled. will go do the MDR upon embarkation and hopefully get an 'out of the way' table. on oasis we lucked on time into one next to a pillar with literally no one next to us. very 'private' 🙂
  9. i never have done fixed dining but finding that 730 MTD and later is only on my october liberty cruise. i wrote to my TA to ask him to change it to earlier fixed dining. But wondering how does it work with the tables? we only want to eat at a 2 top. just show up first day and we get to pick a table thats free or is it too late to decide that now? hoping also that being in a top suite may help if need be. 1st time on a non CK ship, was used to oasis and CK 🙂
  10. ive only done suites on oasis and didnt think CK was a room service option. though would have been nice. the CLS doenst have a good table for outside dining but the 1 BR aquasuite we just had did. it was great eating out there on a full table on that long balcony. but next time will be a CLS, the aquasuite is just too far from deck 17.
  11. ive sailed through a lot of storms, including a force 10, but never saw a chair fly up that high off a deck https://www.cruisehive.com/chaotic-scenes-on-royal-caribbean-cruise-ship-after-freak-storm/104441
  12. word of note for florida. 3 weeks ago we stayed on the ship hoping to enjoy the empty ship. everyone else had the same idea! thankfully they all got off in nassau.
  13. been on regal and enchanted. my comparison is to oasis theres 'nothing to do' on the top deck of princess. it's all about relaxing. no slides, no zip lines. just pools hot tubs, bars and snack places. regal had a nice water show at nite on their central 'stage' on the lido deck. enchanted doesnt have this. on rainy / crappy days there's alot of indoor room to find to sit and crash for a while and there was a 'tv studio' where games were held etc. oasis has the huge indoor promenade and uses karaoke and other bars for activities. so bigger ship means more activities are possible. on princess i'm one of the younger ones. one cruise i think i saw 10 under 18 people the entire cruise. i wouldnt wanna be a kid on princess lol. i second the other comments about princess being made more for alaska because of where they can go. when i save up ill def be doing princess to alaska. they have their own lodge and from everything i read it's very well put together for the land tours.
  14. it helps a lot. i know what you mean about the butler. in Haven on NCL we just said we like chips and light snacks. didnt ask for anything else all week. im sure he appreciated the break. it's our 1st time on liberty so 1st time on any ship we just usually try the free food but good to know if we want a specialty we can get in. is there any way to get a table we want in the MDR. location doesnt matter, just that we arent jammed in 5 inches from other 2 tops as is the norm in every mdr in the world. to us thats gold! when you say anything you want sent to the room, do you mean we can pay for the steakhouse and have it served at at dining room table? and it's the concierge doing all this since there is no butler? also so many people have been gracious to us on other cruises id like to have guests over for a small event and would give the concierge at least a day notice of course.
  15. since you were in this suite, what perks do you remember having with it?
  16. i tried researching as much as i could, especially since we are below chops. and no one complained about noise so i hope i dont have it.
  17. i know there's no genie but wondering if you had a small event in your royal suite can you get snacks and light fare delivered free to the cabin?
  18. i wonder about the intricacy to wire each slot machine's speaker to turn off like that. im sure they have their own system designs to take care of it but still pretty wild thinking about it. no wires to anyones mouths, they can keep talking
  19. another related item that i dont know if is across all lines is last year i was on princess in the casino and we were having a bad week. missed 3 ports on a canada cruise! when the captain came on to make an announcement about more bad weather, it was not only IN the casino, ALL the slots instantly muted. took a second to process what was going on. never heard a full casino so quiet. the fact that the captain controls all the slot volumes also gives credence to the fact that there are elves in the back room constantly playing with slot payouts and when they see me sit down they lower the odds..sigh
  20. but was it on your itinerary to do it? it's on the entire month of june for summit. which to me seems like it's a commitment and been planned out with the pilot,, costs more, permission etc.
  21. was looking at last minute summit cruises and they specifically put statue of liberty on the itinerary. i'm assuming they paid for the extra to do this but was wondering if this was standard for their NJ cruises? i know royal sometimes did it on the last trip of a particular ships season there. of course NCL and others toss this in for 'free' 🙂
  22. just a funny typo that i cannot believe with the tech we have today it never got caught
  23. NCL breakaway in haven only 2499 pp to bermuda for a week. try to get that pricing now lol! its so friendly there and the people dont mind talking to the tourists. i recommend!
  24. i did a bahamas christmas cruise and it's hot as heck in nassau at christmas. i felt bad for the elves. in NY you can have hot november and december days (60s) easily. one almost guarantee is no snow then. i find it's in january you get pummeled. or last year zero snow at all lol
