  1. Our dinner tonight is in Crown Grill, but here is a copy of the MDR menu for day 6 from the app. This is not a formal night. Is it weird that they are supposedly serving lobster and chateaubriand tonight? Not sure if this is the correct menu…
  2. They are both located in the same area (deck 15 aft), but Horizon Court is slightly larger and usually a little busier. Café Caribe is further aft but still connected to Horizon Court buffet. CC is a bit smaller and opens up to the aft deck terrace.
  3. Once back on board we decided to try the burger from the Salty Dog Grill up on the pool deck (deck 15). This was the BLT burger with fries.
  4. Pointe Simon is a much better pier at which to dock in most cases. However, since today is a national holiday for France (and for the US and many other countries as well) most stores and restaurants were closed. We walked around the pier area and then went a few blocks into town. Got our 10,000 steps in. 😁 Decided to head back to the ship for lunch and to cool down. There was a great breeze ashore, but boy was it humid!
  5. Well now the captain has notified us that they are going to try to dock at an alternate berth in a slightly more protected location. We’ll keep you posted!
  6. Well. Here is the patter for Day 6 - Martinique. Things will change for us as they will treat today more like a sea day itinerary and will add activities to this planner.
  7. Caught the comedian tonight in the theater (Doug Funk) for the 9:30 pm show. Stopped by the casino bar on the way in and grabbed a couple of drinks. This worked out well.
  8. Dessert! Mark got the apple pie and even let me taste a bite. It was good. I got the white chocolate mocha tart and it was good, but a little heavier than I expected. Mark and Edgar (our waiter) had a conversation about cheesecake last night and so Edgar brought a piece of cheesecake as well. I was too stuffed to try it, but Mark said it was still as good as he remembered.
  9. We both tried the short rib, and while Mark’s was pretty good, mine was tough and difficult to eat. Our waiter brought the scallop and chorizo dish (to try) without us even asking, so I think there may have been a few dishes like mine. The polenta and chorizo were both great, but the scallops were just okay.
  10. We both tried the Asian Chopped salad. This was good. And a little different from the standard mixed greens salad.
  11. Mark started with the crab and corn chowder. And I tried the corn cakes. I thought these would be lighter, but they were very dense. The flavor was not bad, just heavy and kind of doughy.
  12. Yes. The library is on deck 7 just outside of the Wheelhouse Bar. I’ll try to remember to stop by and check about donating books.
  13. Stopped by Vines last night because I thought I’d try to get my wine in a “better” glass. The bartender there said he could only give me a small glass if I was leaving the area. I would not be allowed to take the larger glass to the dining room. On a more positive note, they really do give a generous pour even though the glasses are small. I would just really prefer the larger globe for the red wines (especially).
  14. These are the chairs and small tables found on the promenade deck. No footstools though. They have multiple games in the atrium area throughout the day. Even while the ship is in port.
  15. This sign is on every table in the buffet area, but it doesn’t stop people from camping out with card games and even a jigsaw puzzle. It would be different if there were more than enough tables for seating, but we’ve had times where we had to walk around in circles trying to find an empty table. We have finally gotten in the habit of securing the table first then taking turns getting our food. Of course, that usually means we can’t eat together unless one of lets our food get cold waiting for the other. I’m all for just going to the dining room or grabbing a sandwich from the IC, but Mark loves the buffet. I just wish it was a little more convenient.
  16. Headed back to the ship, Princess sets up a comfort station with ice water and cold towels.
  17. Docked next to Marella Voyager today. The port area has a small artisan market, but not all of the stalls accept US dollars.
  18. Guadeloupe. A few clouds this morning, but looks like it’s going to be another nice day.
  19. Watched karaoke tonight and now it’s 11pm and we are definitely winding down. We don’t have a tour scheduled for tomorrow (Guadeloupe) so we are going to play it by ear and see what happens. Oh! By the way. Anyone who was wondering, in St. Kitts they had an information booth at the end of the pier with various private tour company options plus lots of drivers in the pier area offering private tours. The port area in St. Kitts was quite large with lots of shops and also a few bars and restaurants. An easy way to kill a couple of hours without a ton of walking.
  20. Dessert. Key Lime Pie for me. (Not quite tart enough, but I am key lime picky.) Mark had the sugar free dessert option. It was not very flavorful, but our waiter suggested a scoop of sugar free ice cream to go with and Mark said it was quite a bit better.
