  1. Not sure why this cruise and the January 29 cruise are both missing Punta del Estes. Weather does not seem to be the problem for January 29. So far our stop there on January 26 is still on the itinerary. Sorry to hijack this thread Norberts Niece, it has been fun following your cruise. Cherie
  2. So happy that you had a good cruise. We will be on the Oosterdam in January and your comments and menus have made me look forward to the journey. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with many unforgettable experiences. Thank you again for letting us cruise with you, Cherie
  3. You all look so festive! I would like the iceburg wedge, filet with green peppercorn sauce, mashed potatoes, and creme brulee, please. And red wine. So sad it's our last night dining together. Thank you again for inviting us to your dinner parties. Cherie
  4. Oh yum...I would like a lemon drop martini, escargot, cracked pepper tenderloin, and dulce de leche and coconut tart, please. Great menu. Our cruise is not about to end is it? Cherie
  5. I'm pretty particular about the flowers I have in our home and when traveling. I travel with a couple of "Modgy" vases and purchase flowers. This is what we will do in January in Chile. Cherie
  6. Just love this time of night, late afternoon in CA. I would love to try the baby beets, then prime rib, finishing with the ricotta raspberry tart, please. And, a red wine. The photos of San Juan were beautiful. I wonder if this cruise is a bit "off" for Club Orange because they are preparing for Christmas/New Year's week. No excuse but very disappointing. Cherie
  7. We won't have the Tamarind on our cruise. But I would love the satay sampler, wok seared lobster, and passion fruit cloud. Yum. Love this time of night!!!! Cherie
  8. Looking forward to your posts as we will be on Oosterdam January 7. How nice not to be traveling in steerage class!! Bon Voyage, Cherie
  9. I'll have a mixed green salad, sole flamande, and flourless chocolate cake please, with pinot noir. I hope that some of the items on your menus will be available for our 22 day South America/Antarctica cruise in January. Cherie
  10. A Trader Vic's Mai tai, Jerked pork tenderloin, and lemon tart please. Cherie
  11. Can't wait for our first dinner on board!!! Bon Voyage and thank you for letting us cruise with you again, Cherie

    3 hours at HNL

Hi, We will arrive at HNL 3 hours before our daughter on 11/23. Thinking of lunch and walking to the lei stands before she arrives. Any recommendations for lunch near HNL? La Mariana Sailing Club and Restaurant 604 the closest and best? If we lunch outside the airport we will have the taxi take us to the lei stand before meeting our daughter. I will arrange a car from HNL to our hotel in Waikiki. Thank you, Cherie
  13. Thank you OlsSalt and 0106 for the suggestions. Cherie
  14. It was involving Shackleton but a specific book. I'll try to find my notes. Thank you for trying to help, Cherie
  15. OleSalt - I cannot find the name of the book you have previously recommended for this cruise. I did not purchase it for my husband for Father's Day and want to get it for Christmas. Help? Thank you, Cherie
  16. I hope you decide on the 1/7 cruise. We're looking forward to that cruise and Iguazu Falls at the end. Sorry you missed the Falklands today. Cherie
  17. I'm going to cheat after seeing Laffnvegas' choices. I'll have the wedge salad, filet and lobster with mashed potatoes, and then creme brulee, please. Congratulations on your Mariner award!!!!!! What a wonderful photo to end tonights dining experience with. As always...thank you for letting us dine and cruise with you. Safe travels home. Cherie
  18. Agree with Kazu and CruiserBruce - we might look at Viator for tours offered and then book with the tour operator directly. Same thing with hotels. Good lesson for many using Viator and other 3rd parties for their excursions and hotels. Cancellation policy is really important. And, rates are often better if booked directly with hotel and/or tour company. Thank you for posting and reminding all of us. Cherie
  19. Did you adjust the colors in this photo prior to posting? The blues are just gorgeous. Thank you!!!!!!
  20. So sorry I have missed so many days... I would like Baby Beets, Lobster Tails, and Ricotta Raspberry Tart, please!!! Getting caught up on this cruise has been fun today. Thank you again for taking us along! Cherie
  21. Have you looked at Fiordosdelsur.com, recommended on the TA Punta Arenas forum? They have morning and afternoon tours. Not sure what their refund policy is if the weather is bad.
  22. Thank you so much for your reply to my question. I laugh when I think of everyone rushing from side to side and the ship listing. I have heard that it is important to always have your jacket with you when dining so you can go outside when something appears! Thank you again, Cherie
  23. I look forward to your posts on CC and your blog so much. The photos are fabulous. The excitement of seeing the first iceberg and knowing what was to come came thru loud and clear. I have a question...Are there any areas where the captain will rotate the ship so that passengers front, back, and both sides will be able to have a view? I assume it would be difficult in many places. Thank you so much for bringing us along. I know our January cruise will not be the same as yours' but I can't wait. Cherie
  24. Thank you Mary229. I did not know that there was still dressy and formal on some cruises. I get it. We chose a cabin where we will be comfortable having dinner delivered if "dressy" is more than we bring. How fun to wear your best evening outfit on the SA grand. I love the photos of our family on cruises where tuxes and elegant dresses were the norm. But for the upcoming January cruise those items will not be packed. It's going to be such a great experience. Can't wait. Cherie
  25. Wow, these photos are great. Can't wait for our January cruise. Also, thank you for giving me info re flowers and fruits. I'm happy I can bring them onboard and will definitely not bring anything food or plant related off the ship. Thank you again for letting us cruise with you, Cherie
