Why not Serenade from Vancouver - a day longer cruise I think.   Have done  Vancouver to Honolulu a number of times and it is a great cruise.

Serenade only showing a september cruise, I like to get away in late winter to spring as reward  for surviving winter in upstate ny.

  3. I have looked at the pride of america, reviews don't look great and it is highly overpriced  IMHO. can fly to honolulu and return from vancouver which seems to save a Lot of money. the one itinerary in my 2020 seems strange though. 2 days in honolulu and then 2 islands then 2 stops on the west coast. Still looks like an adventure though!

  4. Thinking about a bucket list hawaii cruise in 2020 for our 30th anniversary. There are no reviews for this ship on this itinerary so i have looked at some for other ships. Don't really see much about the sea days weather. I assume there will be cool sea days on the vancouver side but we love cruising Anthem out of bayonne in the winter months as it has the indoor spaces when its cold outside. My questions are about airfare, how much should I budget for flying from the east coast? Cant look at flights that far out yet. also is this a great cruise? cannot find very good reviews from other RCCL ships on this itinerary. any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

        Thanks

  5. I have been really trying to find something to book on board our February sailing on anthem but it doesn't seem like there are any real benefits in doing so. I feel like $100 obc is not sufficient compensation and most all TAs offer better!

  6. We did carvival pride last year out of baltimore. Bad choice and I don't think it is a fair comparison to any lines newer ships,  I do think that carnivals drink package policies promote less drunkenness than royal as they limit you to 15 alcoholic drinks a day per person. they do promote "fun" more but it seemed they were really struggling at it where on royal it just comes naturally for me. If Cuba interests you do it regardless of the line.

Enjoy and congrats on the free cruise oportunity!

  7. There used to be a drink of the day on the cruise compass most days, do ships still do this? saved me a couple of bucks and found some new selections. I also remember a few happy hours at boleros for margaritas. Might not be your choice of what you would usually drink but diversity can be fun! Some fun involved in just finding the deals on a daily basis, I have always wanted to get the bev package but my wife aint havin it! We always do end up with less of a bill than the package would have cost though.

We're on the Grandeur out of Baltimore on Feb 14th and I just received an email saying, " While we are transforming our private destination, CocoCay, into Perfect Dat at CocoCay, we have experienced a minor delay. As a result, we've had to replace your visit to CocoCay with the beautiful port, Grand Bahama Island. We are sorry for any disappointment."

They were saying the pier would be done in January. Doesn't look to be the case.

We are leaving out of Bayonne on feb 15th on Anthem. Sorry if we got your parking space. Haven't been to Coco cay yet though so we are looking forward to it.

  9. Has anyone had any luck with this? While on our first cruise in 2015 aboard enchantment we experienced some really rough weather, outside was closed off, couldn't do coco cay due to tenders tipping and so on and so forth. Neither my wife or myself had ever set foot in a casino before so we had no idea what to expect. sure enough we were killing the slots the whole trip. Beginners luck I thought but when we were shuttling back to the airport other cruisers expressed the same thing and one mentioned that when the ship is tossing around like that the machines are thrown out of calibration causing more winners. Anyone have any input? Cruises since have not been that rough and we have not had any success in the casino. By the way, despite the weather we had the time of our lives and haven't looked back since. Its the cruising life for us!!
