  1.    Yeah I know it sounds gross, and it kinda was. I am wondering about the sauces they put on almost every entrée in the MDR on our last anthem cruise in 2015. It was literally the same brown sauce regardless of what protein served and by the third day I had to ask for no sauce on any of my meals.  Wondering if any recent cruisers noticed this? In checking reviews it seems to be there when showing food porn and it even looks the same to me in coastal kitchen and pay venues. I already booked my cruise on her for February and am looking forward to it. Just wondering about this one small thing. By the way my wife liked the sauce so she wants to know too!

      Thanks

Anything under the pool deck can be noisier than a deck under other cabins.  It's not constant noise, but it can happen...chairs being moved during the night, and stuff like that.

As far as being on the same hallway as the kids club, only the residents of that hallway, for the most part will be using that hallway.  Public areas don't need to go thru cabin hallways for access.

We stayed on deck 13 aft on anthem in 2015 and found it to be very convenient and quiet. 10 steps up to windjammer for morning coffee, pools and hot tubs, and everything on the upper decks. tried carnival pride last year 1 deck below buffet and pool and my wife never slept!

There has no longer been an app since they re-vamped the website a couple of weeks ago.  Now, you just type in your browser, Cruise Critic and it will pop up.

Getting frustrated, it has been a solid month since the re launch and it only seems to be getting worse with no explanation of how or when most features will be fixed. I am no IT guy but it certainly seems like progress should be made by now.

  4. Hi,

Will be on Anthem in February and I am doing research to book our 2020 30th anniversary cruise. thinking booking on board and want something really special. Just discovered the celebrity edge. WOW! found a itinerary I really like but waiting for the rest of 2020 to open up, only have up to April now and want to see July before we decide.

Is it possible to book a celebrity cruise at nextcruise on a royal ship?

  5. Black Friday has worked for me in the past. be patient though, I was watching my latest adventure and it kept going up up up. panicked and booked, then it went right down the next week . not a big difference after  obc  and perks comes out within a hundo or so.

So can I ask for a extra shot of rum with my frozen drink?  I tried this on Carnival with my drink package and they said I would have to pay for it.  I said no thanks and ordered a glass of wine.

I had this same problem on carnival. paid for the extra shot for my wife since she doesn't drink much but when she does she wants to know it! went to another bar and explained this to the bartender and was told to order her daiquiri and ask for a bubble on it, that was only an extra 2 bucks as opposed to the $7 for an extra shot. that was only possible with out the beverage package. they wont do it with the package.

  7. Great review! Team RCCL here, doesn't matter which line wins I find your unbiased opinions refreshing. We did a carnival cruise last year and were not impressed,  we took the pride out of Baltimore. the ship is a bit outdated and that bothered me, my big issue was the drinks. we don't get the package since my wife doesn't drink much but when she has her strawberry daiquiri she wants to taste the alcohol. I had to get an extra shot with each of her drinks. that cost way more and I heard a lot of complaints about the 15 drink max as well if you had the package.

  8. OK, so I just Googled "Carnival Drink of the Day" images, and saw that the Blue Margarita goes for $7.75 instead of $8.75 as an example.

So a buck off as I hypothesized, but a bit more of a baseline price than I thought. I didn't care: I had, and will probably always have, Cheers!

yeah but the wife doesnt drink much, like to save where I can and cant justify cheers having to pay for both.

  9. Leaving on the Carnival Escatsy on the 26th of this month and was wondering if it would be cheaper to purchase the alcohol beverage package or buy drinks as we go? How much do mixed drinks cost if we buy them out right?

    Thanks!!

On my first cruise I really pained over this decision but my wife decided for me, it was no. I wanted to save money and heard all of the horror stories of thousand dollar bar tabs at the end of the cruise, turns out she was right, we saved a couple hundred by not having the package. I like to drink but found myself having so much fun I wanted to stay lucid to enjoy it. I say first time try without and see how it goes. you might be surprised at how much you dont drink!

  10. I've cruised on Pride four times, the most recent being last year (July 2017). If you wear a coat and tie you will be much better dressed than many of your fellow shipmates. However, you will not be a "fool". On Pride I have seen many families dressed up in their "Sunday Best" for Elegant Night. They take advantage of the opportunity to take family pictures or formal portraits with spouses. My wife and I always dress up - I'm active duty military and wear my Dinner Dress uniform, and my wife matches me with a gorgeous cocktail dress or even a long gown. Don't let the "I'm wearing shorts and flip flops and watch the world burn" crowd dissuade you from dressing to the level you want! Enjoy your cruise...I'm jealous, wish I was sailing someplace warm soon, too!

Just finished your last review swodog and enjoyed it very much. The first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was the picture of you and Mrs with the captain. Love seeing the pride of service, way to represent!

  11. Cooler bag package can be had only at pool bar and is $45 with 6 beers. For refills you pay for 5 and get 6 beers.

Better deal at pool bar is the bucket of beer where you pay for 4 and get 5 so bring your own cooler bag or use their bucket with ice at no extra cost for either and save more. Beers offered for this are dos equix, corona, bud, bud light, coors light, miller light and Heineken. ;)

Thank you so much, been after this answer for a while now and it will really help me to figure out if the 20% discount bev package will work. For anyone wondering the 20% discount is available for the march 27th sailing!
