  1. 1) I saw that the cruise director is changing before my cruise. I wonder if that could change the day that they show Grease. Currently they are showing it on the last day for my itinerary. Would love if they showed it earlier in the cruise. What do you think?

    2) I am debating about getting the photo package. I am not concernd about the cost. I wonder about the value. I am only going on a 4 day cruise. Are there going to be enough opprotunities for photos? Or should I just buy individual photos on board?

    3) Also do adults have to fill out a waiver for on board activities like the Flowrider? Or just kids?

    Thanks

  2. I just did my daily price check for my cruise and got excited that I might get a reduction. But doing the price check the price was more than advertised. I also called Rccl to see what was going on. The rep said that the price was for a 2 person room so with this deal it cost less to have 2 people per room instead of four. That to me makes no sense but she said she priced it out and it cost less for 2 rooms. I price checked it online for 2 after talking to her and it cost more than what the phone rep said. And of course the way the pricing is coming up it cost way more than I paid. It is not the end of the world because I did get a fantastic deal on my room. But I wouldn't turn down the savings.

  3. Have you thought about doing Cozumel's San gervasio. I have not done it yet but planning on doing it in the spring. It is on the island so you do not have to spend a few hours traveling there. It is also a smaller ruin. This would also help since you are looking at doing a less expensive tour. My cruise is currently offering 2 excursions there. 1st is $59 for adults 3 1/2 hours and includes ruins and chocolate demonstrations. The 2nd is $79 for adults 4 1/4 hours and includes ruins and beach.

  4. So I looked into this for my upcoming cruise. What my understanding is that the photo package would include your stateroom and any photos that your children staying in another stateroom are in. So my niece is staying in my parents room. If she takes a photo with her grandparents the photo would be included in her mom's package. But if my parents take a photo without my niece or anyone from her mom's stateroom the photo would not be included.

  5. As our final payment date is fast approaching I have started looking at possible upgrades that may become available.

We are currently on deck 9.

Pros- only staterooms above and below us. Also near our second stateroom ( which will not be upgrading due to needing an accessible room)

Thinking of changing to an inside family

    Pros- much larger room

Cons- near and below public areas may be noisy. And it is on deck 2 I have never been low on the ship I don't know how I would like it.

Another possibility is changing to a family promenade. But I bet someone would forget to close the curtains and give a show to the neighbors.

Or we could go the traditional way. But I do not think anyone besides myself would appreciate the balcony. And I have been hearing a lot of complaints about smokers. I just do not want to deal with them.

Of course this is all speculation that these rooms would be available. What would you recommend? Tia

  6. A couple of thoughts. 1) while I would not have been rude to the employee I do think it was unprofessional. 2) it was just a cup of coffee. I don't care. I know people who work in the food industry that have been fired for taking a bite of extra food at closing instead of throwing it away. 3) it was 430 in the morning so they needed the coffee. If you are used to working those hours it does not effect you the same as someone with a 9-5 would. 4) I work in the service industry and unfortunately it is not what it should be. I am always the professional and do not understand why the work ethic has disappeared. I remember years ago listening to stories from my co-workers about how they treated costumers. I for a long time thought that they were exaggerating and saying what they wanted to do. Until one day someone I knew experienced it first hand and told me all about it. I finally realized I was being naïve and they really do act that way at work. I have rarely had issues with costumers but I remember not too long back I mentioned an outrageous demand a costumer made and mentioned it my manager because it was too funny. My manager then asked how I reacted ( professionally of course) and her response was she would have .....(unprofessional). I have worked for this company for several years and when a new trainee comes in they often ask what is my worst experience with a costumer. everyone around me who have been around from a few weeks to a couple of years are filled with stories of how awful costumers are. I always have the answer " I don't really have any" why? Because I get back what I put out there. If you are professional the costumer will generally treat you with respect. Unfortunately the service industry is full of people who just do not care about keeping up standards.

  7. II hope this does not sound harsh but... L became a vegetarian when I was just a child. Back when it was unusual and the only option on the menu was salads. Over the years menues have improved for us. But I still find myself at restaurants where I can only order salad. If your daughter is going to last as vegetarian she needs to learn to make do. I think a big reason most can not stay a vegetarian is they are not willing to really sacrifice. I personally do not even consider some one a real vegetarian until two years because most won't make it to that point. I hope your daughter does make it and here are a few things to consider when on the cruise. The cruise lines often denote vegetarian items with a V. However it is not always accurate. For example I was looking at menues for my upcoming cruise and it listed ceaser salad as vegetarian. It is not! Also many new vegetarians do not understand the extant of meat products in every day foods from some sour creams to jello to skittles. In this day and age it is much easier to to do the research and find out what is going into your body. If she does the research she will be educated enough to make sure she is not eating animals. Good luck.

Cruise must be booked Nov. 30, 2015.

Offer applies to all sailings departing on or after Dec 10, 2015, excluding China departures.

I hope it is better than this. If this is the sale price it would be more than what my last price drop was. I got such a great price on my cruise that I figured the only way to get lower was a great black friday sale. Fingers crossed it is better this year.

  9. So my cruise just added an excursion that my niece is interested in. Ziplining. The problem is that no description is offered. I called rccl and they also had no description. I was given an email address to send my questions to but I thought I would see if anyone here could help. The port is cozumel and the exursion is 2 hours and official name is "zipline upgrade add on." Does this mean that you can only do this in conjuction with another excursion? My sister only wants to do a short excursion so she wont do it if it requires a second excursion for the add on or upgrade. if you have done this excursion can you give me a description. And of course rccl added this and another excursion after the sale ended. But my niece has been asking to go ziplining for a while so if we can we will.

  10. I have noticed in the photos I've seen of MDR menus that the little vegetarian symbol does not appear by the desserts. Does anyone know if that is because they all contain gelatin? I've noticed that even desserts that are fruit-based don't have the vegetarian symbol.

Unfortunately I have found that you can not relay on the symbol. On my last cruise (not rccl) I saw a dish that had fish listed as Vegetarian. Looking at a menu recently from rccl I saw ceasar salad listed as vegetarian. Your best bet is to talk to a chef and confirm what you are eating is vegetarian. And when you talk to them let them know specifically what you require. So many lax vegetarian give people the wrong idea of what we will and will not eat.

  11. Punta sur and expora beach

So I just purchased rccl jeep to punta sur excursion. Weird question but do I have drive? Or can I ride in the tour guide's jeep. I do not like to drive on vacation. I have a job that has me driving a lot so I prefer not when I can avoid it. I know I could have booked something else but this excursion was closest to what I was looking for offered by the cruise line. Also the exursion say that we go to explora beach is this part of punta sur? Google is not finding anything about explora beach. Also Is the guide with you while you snorkel. I will be going out with my niece and I am hopping someone will be keeping an eye out for us.

  12. I am the opposite. I do not take anything unless I am sick. I only had one time where my family and I started felling sick and took some pills on the ship one night. Unless you have strong reason to believe you are sick why take anything before hand?

  13. Can you fill out waivers before cruise. I read that parents have to stay while child is doing the activities (rock-climbing, skating, flowrider). Does it have to be parent or any adult in the party. And do waivers stay on file or do they have to be done every time.
