I really have been curious about this and am not trying to start an argument. So it seems to me that based on many posts that I have read on here that many people are very very generous tippers to cruise staff. Despite the fact that while working these employees have free room and board. Also many people insist that they have to have a travel agent. And the best travel agents offer
Incentives like on board credit. These fantastic travel agents also get to get the price drops for you. However when offering incentives and getting price drops they are getting even less of a small commision. A commision that they need to pay things like room and board. So my question is why is it considered socially necessary to overpay cruise staff but be not think twice about a travel agent?

If you are in the same stateroom only 1 package needed.

I have not done this. But I looked into it for my cruise next week but decided it may be too cold for us at this time. Anyways i believe that the floatable are for 1 hour and the slide was for all day. I also remember that when it was on sale it was around a $9 difference because the combo was on sale but not the slide or park individually. It looks fun but I read it can be physically challenging.

I just upgraded to a boardwalk balcony. 2 people in 2 rooms. So the room comes with johnny rockets for 4. So can all 4 of us go twice? Or will they limit it since we only have 2 people in the rooms?

I booked one of my cruises on black friday I got 2 connecting 6v rooms. About a week later I see a lower price with the green sale and call to rebook. But I have to change to a 4v. So I changed the rooms. Now with the wow sale I can save again but I would have to change to a 2v. I do not know if I am going to do it this time becuase I would have to move to the 3rd floor to keep connecting rooms. But I just find it a little wierd that with each sale they have a different category on sale. I have never paid that much attention to the cattegories but since I have the connecting rooms it makes a difference. Is this normal?

Royal also has private excursions. You tell them what you want to do and they set everything up. But this requires advanced planning.

Since you have 2 little ones you may also be interested in the ultimate family suite. Symphony will be the first ship to have it. This suite has a slide so the kids do not have to take the stairs.
-
You may not be aware of this but you are able to leave kids in kids club while on ship. It may be easier if kids stayed onboard.
-
Grease was fantastic.
Closed toe shoes needed for rock climbing.
Sign the kids up for kids club but keep in mind they charge late at night.

I am on symphony in 2019. Are the reservations showing up as free?
-
Royal announced that symphony will not have dreamworks character onboard. A bit disappointing.

You are right...and experience speaks louder than trolls. ;) I sometimes get my OBC from booking direct online during a promo, but most come from booking with Next Cruise on board.
Thanks

Fyi kids sail free is happening now.

Fake news.... never happens...
You are overlooking something!
Hmm. I upgraded after finale payment like the op asked about. Kept my obc from a sale almost a year before that. What am I supposively missing? I obviosly do not know what is going on in my own life.
-
Yes you did!
What kind of OBC did you supposedly not loose?
No I didn't. I had a regular sale obc. They were not offering obc when I upgraded. And still had it when I went on the cruise.
-
No. I did this a couple of months ago. I did have to pay a few dollars for the upgrade. But did not loose the onboard credit.

Mco recommends arriving 3 hrs early. However with pre check in I am sure less is fine. The drive is an hour in normal traffic. Most likely you will be fine. But if you are like me and you think about everything that can go wrong it maybe too stressful to attempt.
-
I would never pay for it. In my day to day life I rarely drink anything but water. And since I plan all vacations for my family they do not get to have it either. I think it is completely insane to spend that much money on something so bad for you.
-
You never know. I worked somewhere once that was partially under construction. It was not finished until almost a year after the original end date. So I would not base when I go on that.
-
My confusion is that the balconies appear to be significantly different in sizes. So if all else is equal why would royal charge the same. I am booked in 6230 and 6236's balcony appears almost twice as big. So I thought maybe I am missing something.
-
Something better than money is praise. Go to supervisor or guest services and praise him. That is a lot more memorable than cash.
-
Rooms 6230,6232,and 6236. Appear to all have different size balconies. However these rooms are the same category and price. Am I missing something?

As I wrote, early seating on all the ships we have taken out of Port Canaveral is hot. They squeeze them into traditional and My Time.
As for shows, they had a lot of entertainment after Late Seating.
This must be why we are stuck with late dinning. We booked over a year out and are waitlisted for early dinner.

You could temporarily modify his birthday to allow the booking and then fix it later or at check in.
The problem with this it should change pricing for anything else that is based on age. Excursion pricing for children is based on being 12. So you may have to pay the difference for other excursions. And if you had kids sail free that also ends at 12 so you would have to pay full price.
Tender question

Did you book the excursion with royal? If so you are safe you are guaranteed back on the ship. If booked another way no garuntee.
