  1. Well, thank goodness for this thread then. I'm glad the beards at Carnival saw just how upset everyone was from these posts and decided to reverse course.

    Really now.

They're getting a firestorm everywhere, not just CC. Have you been following this on FB or any other forums? CC is not the only platform to express displeasure these days. Think back to other things that Carnival has done away with, only to reverse course and bring them back. There's precedent. They do listen to their customers, it seems, and that would be a good thing. Why are you so adamant about killing this thread and shoving your head in the sand?

  2. This thread was started based on a rumor, which has since been dispelled, that this perk was being eliminated.

Now, you're turning it into a "this is my experience" thread, which is somehow trying to substantiate the original, false claim.

In essence, you are posting things to support a lie. If you wish to continue discussing that, perhaps a thread related to your experiences is in order. And why not, when there are hundreds of Cheers!, FTTF and MDR attire threads.

But, to keep a thread open that was based on a false rumor, is a disservice to this community.

You all are better than this.

It may have started as a rumor, but as time goes on, more information is coming to light that's giving that rumor some credibility. There's certainly more questions than answers at this point, but it hasn't been resolved to everybody's satisfaction by any stretch. Carnival needs to get in front of this if they want it to go away. Clearly their social media team and their BA are not getting it done for them because not everybody is buying what they're selling. It's telling that their message is being received with a big dose of skepticism by many of their faithful customers. Their website content probably hasn't this scrutinized since their legal team reviewed the final draft. LOL.

  3. I know when the Diamond mine shows up, the blood letting cannot be far behind.... I am sure my name has come up over on the evil social media pages.... again...

Actually, I was surprised to see you as the OP of this thread. You usually have an aversion to anything negative. That may have inadvertently given this legs and credibility. Good job!! LOL

  4. LOL, he just does not understand that CC thrives on negative posts..... can we please put this to bed now?

Only Carnival can put this to bed with a statement from corporate. They're making a huge mistake relying on their social media team and captain underpants to fight this fire. This is turning into the same self inflicted wound that the Comfort Matters cards were. They need to get in front of this now, or it will rage on for months.

  5. John is either being straight in this reply, or he's playing word games. He says the D&Ps still CAN have the option of early boarding and room access. Does that mean that nothing has really changed, or does it mean that they have the option to buy FTTF? Or, is he speaking about D&Ps still boarding earlier than than the RBGs, but after FTTF? Either way, he hasn't cleared anything up with his non answer and he may just be word shifting so that he's a not actually lying. b2b2f8bdd849824461af79cd13382a04.jpg

  6. The word "cutback" is the most annoying, overused word on this forum. What is the benchmark that everyone compares to before "cutbacks" happened? Is it when cruising was for the very wealthy, on small ships, with no balconies, limited entertainment, no outdoor movies, limited dining options, etc? (Btw, that experience is still available, and even from the Carnival Corporation). Cruising HAD to transform to become a larger business. Personally, I am not interested, at least this point in my life, in the "old model." Why is it that we will so freely talk about things that have gone away like tablecloths, butter, mints, etc, but not things that are new or improved? Just in the last year I went on a ship with disgusting buffet burgers, to now having a solid, included, option that is Guy's. Most of the complaints here are seriously ridiculous. One of the few complaints I'd actually agree with is the midnight buffet. However, we all know how much waste that contributed.

For those who swear up and down it has changed for the worse, and have moved on, I present to you a different theory. A cruise, especially with the same company, has many similar qualities. To do it 10-30 times is going to leave many people wanting more. That's natural. That applies to anything repetitious. I've been to my favorite vacation spot around 25 times, and there is now more to do and see there than ever. However, I have done it so many times that it has lost some of its luster, and must give it a break.

Guys is probably one of the most successful co-branding attempts by Carnival. Others have come and gone. I would guess that eventually, Guys will also go away and be replaced with something newer and better. Enjoy it while you can.
