  1. If you really wanted to bring it, spray her hair while she stands in the shower and it will be easier for it to be cleaned up. Of course if you do this, be considerate to the room steward and wash out the shower yourself.

  2. I'm not going to dispute it because I finally received what I bought. It's Carnival's money to lose now and if they lost it, that's their problem, not mine. It WOULD have been nice had they offered that $60 as OBC for all this frustration but they didn't....and I have a long memory.

I just checked my online banking for that transaction and don't see a confirmation number showing. All that's there is what looks like a phone number and it doesn't expand for more information when I click on the transaction like some banks do. Weird. This is all it shows. But as I said, this is their accounting department's problem now. Thankfully not mine and I can go on planning the cruise stress free....(as long as they don't screw with my Cheers purchase. That definitely WON'T sit well with me!)

Here's what it looks like on my transaction page:

    Jul 17, 2017CARNIVAL SHORE EXCUR 800-929-64000 FL 07/15Debit card transaction−$59.95

That is just so strange. But at least all is good now. I agree, they should have given you some OBC or something. Heck, I would call and say "you caused me all this, I would appreciate some OBC please". Never know...

  3. I was in Key West on the ship for a cruise and called a few people. Still US but for some reason the carrier (Verizon) thought I was on the boat a few miles off shore. I was not. I called them and they took the charges off when I told them I was in port. That was an expensive phone bill. I couldn't imagine the cost of what it would be back in 2000. I don't think I have ever used a room phone on a ship. My klutzy self would accidentally call Japan or something.

  4. This shows me it's TOTALLY worth it for us. On cruises we will easily drink a morning frou-frou coffee, go to the pool where we have another 4-5 drinks like a mojito or some sort of cocktail, 1-2 glasses of wine with dinner, after dinner we will have another 2 at Alchemy or whatever bar we are near. So yeah, I'd say we get our money's worth. At the cheap rates I'm sure Carnival buys liquor and mixers, you know they're still making a good profit. Even on people like us that drink like fishes.

  5. Well we extended it until two days ago trying to solve this. This started in August. We finally gave up 2 days ago, cancelled and rebooked with RC. I have never experienced anything so ridiculous in my life. I provided proof we bought legally. I did everything asked. Sure cant do much when Im told I only can talk to one manager and said manager refused to call back, email back for almost a month. Finally on contact I still have a block. Not worth the hassle and frustration when there are other lines.

OMG! WOW! I would be doing the exact same thing as you. There comes a point when it's just ridiculous and that exceeded it. I am not loyal to RCCL or CCL or any other cruise line but if I was going through all that, I would definitely strike CCL off my list. Enjoy your RCCL cruise and have a wonderful vacation!

  6. On my last cruise (RCCL) I was curious if the drink package was going to be worth it for us. So we added up what would would have spent if we paid per drink vs what we paid for the drink package. Yeah it wasn't pretty. We drank a lot. We're big drinkers. It was over $650 per person had we not bought the drink package. I know for our upcoming CCL cruise the $800 total we will spend on the package will definitely be worth it. But it's not for everyone and that's ok.

  7. Again, we started out talking about travel medical insurance and evacuation which means getting you home when injured/sick.

The Costco Card does NOT cover any of that!

It's travel "accident" insurance is just like a life insurance policy if you die not if you get sick.

    Ahh, thanks for clarification.

  8. Just my thoughts. If you have a CostCo Citi card, use it to pay for your cruise. Deposit and all. I was reading what's covered under their protection policy and it's a lot. But if your fare isn't enough under what they cover, I suggest supplement insurance. Since my fare is significantly less than their limit, I'm golden. I read through all the fine print and it's pretty good coverage. Thoughts?

  9. I am going on her April 29-May 6th and I CAN'T WAIT! I was on RCL Freedom May last year and I wanted my hubby to go on CCL this time around so he can see which one he likes better. I have been on Conquest a few years ago and liked it. I am not partial to one line over the other. My hubs might be though. But we will only do cruises when school is in and NOT on spring break or any other break.

  10. Yep--I had to hear it first hand, so I went to the port (New Orleans) this past Saturday while the ship was in and asked the check in people. They confirmed it for me...If you have FTTF, you can head into the terminal as early as the first time slot or whenever they open the terminal door. From there, you wait until they start boarding the ship!

So WHAT is the the first slot time for this port and ship?

  11. I am actually very excited about them adding Costa Maya. I was booked on NCL for April 1 next year but cancelled because spring break time. So I go end of April on CCL instead. Ended up paying MUCH less for same cruise. I even had reservations at Maya Chan but had to cancel. I am SOOOOO going there now. So stoked!!!!

  12. It's NOLA, Mobile, or Canaveral for us since it's close drive. We'd consider Tampa as well. Flights out of my city are super expensive since it's not a major airport and we have to keep cost into consideration. It tends to be cheaper for us to drive to ports than fly because of the cost of checked bags. Too much to deal with plus lost luggage. I carry all my stuff on board and carry it all off.

  13. What's hard for people like me that don't live where you have easy access to anything but RCCl and CCL. NCL has some access but not year around. When I price a cruise I take into consideration travel to get to port. We can't afford to fly to any port. THEN you have to factor in those of us that aren't people that get to cruise more than once a year. Some of us only get every other year or less. So when I did my research, it was MUCH cheaper to do the CCL out of NOLA than it was for the NCL out of NOLA a few weeks earlier. The cruise I was going to take on NCL is $3500 with dining and drink package but the CCL was less than $2000, granted it was 1 port less, no drink or dining package. I will add $800 on my CCL tab for drink package and it still comes out cheaper. Everyone is different, for many it comes down to what is cheaper and easiest to get to port. It really just depends on what people want, what's important to them, and things they like. Me, I just like cruises and being with my hubby. The rest is just minor details.
