  1. Try going into your booking, and next to Complete guests names there is (edit). Click there, and it brings up the info for you and others in your party. Below each name is a small blue 'modify'. Click there and you can change your last name. Every time I book, it is my sister and myself, and it doesn't give an option for the second name. It just lists her as TBAxxxx. So I go in and change her first name, save change, then go back and change last name. You can't do both at the same time. EM

I had this same issue a few weeks ago and it would not let me edit the TBA name. I had to call them and get it updated. They told me you couldn't update this on the website.

  2. There is a difference between changing a name because it's a different passenger vs same person just getting divorced. I would call Carnival and tell them what is going on. I am 99% sure they will work with you especially since you can provide proof. You might need to send them the decree.

  3. LSU Spring Break is officially Sunday March 25th at 7:30am to Monday April 2nd at 7:30am. In reality, most students will leave on Friday March 23rd or Saturday March 24th. Some students may not come back to class until Tuesday April 3rd.

Yeah but there are still A LOT that are on it the week after Easter as well as other schools from other states. I'd just like to avoid a mad rush of college kids. I've done it before and it was stressful. The 29th week should be good and safe.

  4. I have searched with no luck. I am currently booked on NCL for April 1, 2018 cruise but about to cancel and go to Carnival for 4/29/18 out of NOLA. Spring break is the week of April 1, 2018 for pretty much all of Louisiana and I would like to avoid a drunk fest with 1500 college kids. I know that RCCL has their drink packages go on sale a few weeks before embarking. Does Carnival do that too?

  5. I have a trip booked for 4/1/18 on the Pearl, which is Easter Sunday. In my large amounts of research for spring break 2018 dates it seems that 97% of schools have it from early to late March for that year. Looks like MOST schools are back in session after Easter. Yay for me IF this is true, but have you all seen anything different? I'm just curious because the price of this cruise has jumped up in price a lot since I booked. I didn't think it would since it doesn't appear to be a major spring break date range. What do you think?

  6. I have been watching the prices for the cruise I have book for April 2018 and they too have gone up. But comparing the price of the upcoming cruise vs my last one, I still got off cheaper this time around. With 1 specialty dining night for 2 people and 2 drink packages on RCCL, for a balcony we still paid a bit more than we did for this one. I'm just one of those people that like to watch it go up and down for the price. I booked this one at $1179 pp for a BB category on deck 10. It has gone up to $1249 pp and I am sure it will keep rising. My way of looking at all of this is that it's STILL cheaper for me to cruise than it is to have a week long trip some place. At least with cruising I don't have to fly anywhere since I am close enough to New Orleans, Tampa, and Port Canaveral to drive.

  7. I'm trying to figure out how someone else's tattoos affect the OP? Last time I checked my tattoos have no effect on other people. I must be missing something. Don't want one, don't get one. Of all the 3 cruises I have been on, they are all about the same. Same kind of people, same kind of stuff on board. They all nickel and dime unless you pay top $$$ for one of those all inclusive cruises that have like 100 people on board. Yeah no thanks. I am not going on vacation where I have to worry about if my make up in on point or my formal ball gown is pressed. Nope, give me relaxed and happy instead of full out dressed up and uptight. OP, there are other cruise lines out there and I really hope you find the one you love. If all your points are indeed true, stay away from RCCL and CCL. They're just like NCL. I love them too.

  8. My husband and I are on this same cruise! We are mid ship level 10, balcony. 373 days to go. HA! I have alarms that will notify me to book dining and shows at the 90 day out mark. I wish we could stay in NOLA the night before but EVERYTHING is sold out being Easter weekend.

  9. We are sailing April 1, 2018 on the Pearl our of NOLA. Maybe I should keep checking to make sure it is not chartered....:o

We are too. I also learned that since that we embark on Easter Sunday from NOLA, not only do they have 3 big parades that morning but also a 10K. Might want to take that into consideration when heading to port as traffic will likely be horrific. Port and the routes are not very far away from each other. We checked into hotels for the area and most are booked or $300+ per night. We are staying in Mobile at my MIL's house.

  10. I booked a cruise on NCL (my first on this line). My hubs and I will be on the Pearl for a 7 night cruise to Belize, Honduras and 2 stops in Mexico on 4/1/2018-4/8/2018. I have looked and looked but I don't see much about this cruise. Most everyone seems to take the Pearl for Alaskan cruise or something with the Panama Canal. Who has done it this cruise and what did you think? We are in balcony room 10542. Looks like it's a decent location. Normally I do very forward but wanted to try something else this time. Anyone know much about these rooms?

I have done 2 RCCL (Mariner and Freedom) and 1 Carnival (Conquest) cruises so I will be curious how NCL compares. Last cruise was on RCCL Freedom in May and was in a cast since I shattered my elbow the week before the trip and needed surgery. NOT FUN to cruise with a cast, especially in May.

    Thoughts?

  11. Thanks for the quick review. Sorry you had to cruise in a cast.....sounds like you made the most of it though :)

I am so jealous--I wanted that room! But it is sold out for our sailing. We are going to be staying in an Inside Family Promenade.

We are taking our 3rd cruise on FOS in December and I was hoping one of you will be able to answer a couple of questions for me. We did sail on FOS a few years ago (but I just don't remember any specifics of the ship.) As I mentioned, we are going to be staying in an Inside Family Promenade room (there will be 5 or 6 us.) Is there a shower in the Fitness Center? Is it available to all passengers or just people utilizing the spa? I was hoping we may be able to use it since there is only 1 bathroom in our stateroom.

My other question is do you know if the MDR is open for lunch on Embarkation Day? When we sailed on NCL's Pride of America, the MDR was open for lunch that day and it was a nice quiet place to sit and enjoy something to eat while we waited for our room to be ready.

There are fitness center showers. They are located in the steam room/sauna center by the fitness center opening. We used the fitness center 5 days and not once used the spa so pretty sure you can just go in and use the showers. They looked nice. I don't think MDR is open on embarkation day for lunch, only windjammer/jade. We didn't get on board until 1:30 so our rooms were ready and we already had lunch at pier.

  12. First of all, cruising in a cast flat out sucks. I had MANY people ask me what happen, if I did it on board, etc. It got old after a while of explaining the story. Otherwise, I didn't let the cast mess up my cruise. There was a lot I couldn't do but I made the best of it I could.

Food-I thought everything was great. Everything from Windjammer to MDR to Chops. I wasn't unhappy with anything I ate. It was all very good. Been on 2 other cruises so far and the food was the best on this one

Beds-yes they are hard. But hubs and I like a hard bed and we slept pretty good on them. No egg crate topper needed for us. Pillows were AWFUL! We will bring out own next cruise.

Ship itself-lots of vibration and really felt it in the back of the ship. LOTS of movement of the ship the whole cruise. Part of that was slightly rough seas and high winds. Only one night the movement bothered me and I had a hard time sleeping as did my husband.

The drinks-R Bar was by far my fav. Bruce in there was amazing and made me drinks that weren't on the menu and that I LOVED. Boleros was great with the coconut mojitos. Only bar I did not like was Schooner because they seemed a bit cranky. Drinks were good though.

Entertainment-this was great! A lot of great shows that kept us coming back for more. The men's belly flop contest and ladies cannonball contest were kinda lame but I feel like these are sexist anyway. Not my thing.

Cruise director-Casey P. was awesome and really funny.

Ports-stayed on the ship for CocoCay. That was great. I was not impressed with shopping in St. Thomas. St. Maarten was wonderful for shopping if you can deal with the "come in the store and look" people. I just ignored them and kept walking. Best deal on alcohol here so we loaded up big time.
