  1. After you call and make payment, if you find that you also have trouble making dinner reservations or excursions online or in the app (for instance telling you to try again later) you can call CAS to book dinner reservations and the Excursion desk to book excursions. Apparently some with CAS bookings have been experiencing technical issues with such for the past week or so
  2. On the Prima in May they had some specials in addition to the standard menu.
  3. On the Prima in May they had some specials in addition to the standard menu
  4. In addition to all the good suggestions above, if you intend to eat at a specialty restaurant you may want to consider Teppanyaki as the tables on the ships we have been on usually accommodate up to about 16 people…so in that case you would be sitting with others. We usually pick that restaurant early in the cruise because in addition to the food and the ‘show’ it is a nice way to meet some others that you may run into throughout the cruise. We have met folks ranging from solos to a family of 13 and it has always been a nice and fun experience for us.
  5. Thanks Omaha. I’ll wait a day or two and see how it goes
  6. Thanks. I have cleared history, cookies, cache and have logged out and back in… I can see my reservation and can access explore/plan but if I try to book any excursions, dining it indicates something to the effect that the website is experiencing problems and to sign out and try again later. If I try on the app instead, it lets me select a time (for excursions or restaurants) but then keeps ‘buffering’ and doesn’t complete the task. No issues with any other apps or websites so it doesn’t appear to be my connectivity. I suppose I can call to reserve what we want but was just wondering if others were having issues too
  7. Thanks Omaha. I tried that but it still doesn’t work. I’ll wait a while and try again
  8. Yes I tried that but still doesn’t work
  9. Happy you can RB. I still cannot but hopefully soon
  10. Hi all. I’m still having issues with the website and app. It’s been a few days now. Does anyone know how long that is expected to last? Thanks
  11. I think a 1 1/2 hour window is cutting it close. If it were me I would want at least a 2 hour window. Also I don’t think you would be able to control rushing the dinner at Teppanyaki since they prepare it with a bit of a “show” for the whole table and sometimes it goes quicker than other times. At Teppanyaki, there were times we had to wait until more folks showed up at our table before they would start. On other ships I’ve been on they usually start letting people in the theatre about 30 mins before showtime and would give away your seats if you weren’t there 10 minutes before showtime (I believe you can check that policy when you book the shows)
  12. First night we just walked in a few minutes before show started and it was standing room only but stayed for the show anyway. On other nights, though typically we wouldn’t want to wait in line, surprisingly we did so. We got in line about an hour before showtime (which is about 1/2 hour before the doors open) and got seats. So 1/2 hour in line, then 1/2 hour in seats before the show.
  13. Not sure if you already received a response but on our 7-day sailing in May there were 5 shows (it appeared that 6 were scheduled but 1 of them was either cancelled or was simply noted in error on the paper daily (but the daily on the NCL app was correct) Each show was different except for Rumours which they performed 2x on one night.
  14. Hi Seemore. Recently sailed on Prima with Vibe passes. Here’s what we thought was good: -Outstanding service -Nice bar (and again great service). Even if the weather is not great some folks still go up to sit at the bar. -You wind up running into some of the same people each day so it’s a nice way to meet some folks, -It was never crowded when we were there. -Plenty of loungers -We we’re always able to get an umbrella -It is so close to the buffet/grill that it is easy to go get some food there and bring it to the Vibe area to eat if you want to eat in a less crowded area -I believe you can also order food from a menu but we didn’t do that on this trip -Very clean bathrooms Heres what we thought needed some improvement -Some lounger cushions had rips/tears in them so they were a little unsightly. -Some of the loungers had soot on them that transferred onto your clothing -However, there are ample towels for use in the Vibe so the two points above concerning the loungers could be remedied by covering them with towels before you sit on them. -On our trip, one of the two hot tubs was out of service for the entire week On our sailing the Vibe was open from 9 am to 7pm daily. We would purchase Vibe again when sailing to a warm weather climate. Happy sailing!
  15. Why not book a table for 4 and a table for 2 if it is a restaurant you really want to try and then try to change it to 6 once on board. We have been successful in doing that in the past. Also, FYI, on a recent cruise on the Prima …on about the 3rd or 4th day of the cruise we decided we wanted to go to Cagneys and were able to get a table for 6 at a 6pm time slot by calling restaurant reservations. We were in port that day so maybe that helped but just wanted to share that it is possible you will be able to reserve once on board.
  16. Thanks Sand. I’ve had to do that too in the past..just didn’t know where it was set up on the Joy
  17. I’m sure it will work out golf even if not your first choice.
  18. Yes, tried that but some not available when we would like. We didn’t book the cruise until after that.
  19. Thanks Blush, I may give that a try if the lines are long in Teppanyaki.
  20. Thanks acct. I did book some but some weren’t available on the days/times I would like so will need to do so on board, Didn’t book the cruise until about a month after reservations opened so I was a little late to the game.
  21. Hi all. Where can you book dining reservations on Joy on embarkation day? Thanks as always for your help
