How many in your party? How much time will you spend in your cabin?
Personally I would pass.
There are 3 of us ....myself and my two sons (23) and (18).

Got the call today to upgrade from a Junior suite to the 2 bedroom Royal Family Balcony Suite...the cost to upgrade was right at 600.00. This is a 7 night cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. For anyone who has stayed in both or familiar....would it be worth it?

On the RCI website. Below is a link to the page.

Thank you....I had thought on my last cruise how helpful it would have been to have had the information at a glance before getting on the ship

I downloaded the Shore Excursion brochures for our upcoming cruises a couple of months ago so had "previous prices". For us the 20% off sale was just that. Included excursions were clearly marked in Cruise Planner and the ones we chose were 20% lower than they were in the Shore Excursion brochure I had previously downloaded.
This is the 1st time I've seen a sale like this that, for us, was a true sale.
Where did you download the brochure from?

I used Whats App in July while on FOS. My family used it on board to message and I also used it to make calls back to home to Kentucky. We had no trouble at all with reception. I had the surf and stream internet, not that it made a difference.

We are on the Oct 1 sailing and we booked the comedy show several weeks ago.

So even if you are upgrading to a better room? At the time we booked the room which is now available was not available.

If we have 2 Ocean Balcony staterooms and now a Grand Suite has opened up, can the two staterooms be moved to one Grand Suite? If so, and the price is cheaper, would we get the cheaper price?

In regard to the fresh squeezed juice....I was on Freedom in July and it took me a bit to find the fresh juice. We ate breakfast in the WJ and gentleman with the machine w/the fresh squeezed juice was separate from the other beverages. On Freedom, it was located near the bar.

Thank you!

Are the auto gratuities for the JS 13.50 or 16.50 per day?
-
Can one find "real" scrambled eggs at any dining venue on Oasis? On freedom, the eggs in the Windjammer were alright but in the main dining room they tasted like they were blended into mush with a very bland taste.

Thank you!

We have a group of 8 cruising. We have a GS, JS and a Balcony room. Our dinner reservations are linked. Will the two in the Balcony room be permitted to eat dinner with the 6 of us in the suites at Coastal Kitchen?

Make sure that your cruise docs are re-issued or items that should get delivered to you will go to the other cabin. This includes crown and anchor mail, welcome gifts or any surprises.
Thank you! I didn't even think of any of that.

Enjoy the JS. is it your first?
It is our first time in a JS.

We have recently changed our room from a balcony to a Jr Suite for an upcoming sailing. Our cruise documentation where we print luggage tags still shows the previous room. Will this change after a period of time?

Thank you for an awesome review! We did the Freedom in July 2016 and almost immediately booked Oasis for October 2016. After reading all 74 pages of your review, I must say....I can't wait!!

Pools- I was up early (7:00 AM) and there were plenty of lounges in the shade. Not as many chairs being "saved" as on past cruises. We could even swim at the beach pool (alone!) before it became crowded a couple of hours later. A great spot to keep cool is on a lounge near the whirlpools on Deck 15 by the doors that open/close near the stairs giving you a nice blast of air conditioning!
Were these seats in a shaded area or sunshine?

We booked all of our excursions after arrival on the ship. It was our first cruise and I wasn't really sure in advance how our days would plan out. We had no difficulties booking the tours we wanted (usually the day before) with the exception of one tour. For the one that was sold out on the ship, we walked outside the port and picked up a taxi to the same location and just paid our way into the attraction. The same taxi driver actually picked us back up at a designated time of our choice.

We had connecting rooms on FOS and I do not recall a noise issue. Of course, we were only in the cabin at sleepy time.

What about snapchat? surf or stream? What would you need streaming for?

thank you

What exactly does the priority check-in refer to for gold status? Is it the online check-in availability or check-in at the port?
UPGRADE....Worth it?

The Junior Suite was putting either myself or the boys on the couch to sleep, also thought the extra bathroom might come in handy for getting ready at dinner time as well as a little more privacy. We had purchased the 3 person internet which we would now be able to cancel since the internet would be included (I think) in the RFS.
