Crew news had the same situation as I did. I book the cruise, air and club orange all at once and always have to pay for club orange. I always book refundable fares. Trying to make sense of anything hal does consistently is a losing proposition.

Looks like since they clearly did it.

I've mentioned this to my pcc when I used them and my ta. I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be able to secure the room until I paid for Club Orange. You are very lucky that you don't have to pay.

Actually I’m lying, I do deal with Telus for my land line and you are correct. It’s a long wait, maybe an hour. They were supposed to change some wiring in my condo so my land line would continue to work. I booked an appointment and took the entire day off of work. Idiots never showed. I told them they can shove their phone when it stops working. It was supposed to stop working in April or may 2022. It’s still working. I guess we all have our waiting games.

I thought it was an hour or so 😛. Maybe it’s just my age 🤪.

No actually I haven’t. I deal with Rogers for my cell and it’s not too bad other than losing all service for a day or so 😛.

Unfortunately there are sqatters but they make short work of them. On one cruise one of the family cabanas was open. They had to kick this group of dudes out several times a day. There is something wrong with people like that. I've also seen people say they'd leave in a while.

I wish it did. While I don't find it as prevalent on the Pinnacle ships there have been a lot of squatters in the area on the non pinnacle. There is a stairway on a lot of the ships and a lot of people use it to cut through. Before I purchased a cabana I would not step foot in something I never paid for.

One of my favorite things is sitting on the balcony very early in the morning when the ship I quiet and the sun is about to come up. The cabanas don’t open until 9 am so you can’t do that.

I agree. I just don’t know what young kids would do there. It’s not like there are toys, games or a pool by. When I was a kid we certainly couldn’t afford a cruise. We went to the next province over and camped at a lake. We lived in the water while the parents sat around yakking and having some drinks. I would have been bored to death if I had to sit with them all day.

That's not what it's for. I don't take either of those things. I like a dedicated area where I can sit and not be bumped a hundred times or have to be around tons of people. Fine if you don't like it but I don't think providing incorrect information is very helpful. I can't remember the last time I was offered an upsell to a neptune so I wouldn't hold a ton of hope for that depending on what type of room you are in.

Makes sense. Coming from a place where we have cold weather 10 months a year I’m not thrilled with the idea of a cold cruise and being cold.

Funny, the nieuw statendam is my favourite, but I imagine I will feel the same about the Rotterdam. On the koningsdam they have that green bunny that wouldn’t fit in the kids club. I think they said it was going to be taken out but it might just be wishful thinking on my part.

There is no hot tub in the koningsdam retreat. That just sounds odd about the blanket. I’d feel like I was 5 years old. As much as I love the cabanas I have no interest in having one in the cold.

Yes, I can tell you admire that 🤣. I’ve been on carnival before and no amount of freebies is going to make that happen again. As I mentioned I do not get months of holidays that seem prevalent on this board that I need to spend carefully.

I have no desire to cruise on msc. No idea what vv is. I was going to do celebrity next but their cancel for any reason sucks for Canadians. I’m not interested in other insurance to cover my cruise. I will most likely be cruising Princess next again. I have nothing booked. I don’t get mounds of vacation so I’m not interested in experimenting at this time.

I am a 5 star on hal and elite on Princess. I earned mine the good old fashioned way by sailing. I’m kind of glad they don’t. In some cases it might be fine but if it causes back up on getting laundry back or more people on the internet that’s my issue.

I've asked about the capacity for years. I've been told every extra person is getting charged extra. I've yet to meet anyone that is. By the way I didn't understand your last quote.

Thank you for the interesting look back at hal. While I have cruised hal for around 35 years or so the only thing I remembered was the card with holes.

Unfortunately when cabana stewards are running from pillar to post to get food for people it's going to get cold. This is one of the many reasons I never ask them to get me food. Also I can't sit without moving for very long. These cabanas are not for everyone, nor should people have to explain why they aren't or are. I've even had people ask why I need both a balcony and cabana. I can't imagine why anyone would need an answer to that.
