  1. Theoretically. It was fine the first week of my two week cruise. It was overrun the second week.
  2. I have not been able to get the reduced rate on a b2b but mine was booked with two separate booking numbers.
  3. I don’t see how they could. Capacity of the koningsdam is 2650. If you have let’s say 2850 where are they going to put all the extra people unless there is 5 to a room which I don’t think is possible. While quarantining crew might be done it’s hard to believe they are doing that with passengers from what I’m reading. They don’t seem to have enough crew so maybe they have spare crew cabins.
  4. With over 2800 people there would be no rooms to block from on my cruises. I could see it happening if there was let’s say 2000 people.
  5. Actually I had over 2800 on both weeks on my koningsdam cruise in November so whoever told you they needed to leave 300 rooms/spots open was not correct.
  6. Is it that hard to put on a pair of pants? It used to be that jackets were too much. They relaxed it again. Now pants and a colored shirt is too much. Next thing will be it's not much to put on shorts.
  7. There is an extra charge though. Hal has 3 fares. One non refundable, one advantage and the hia. The advantage fare is not published because hal wants to push people into hia so clearly they are winning on that promo. You have to specifically ask for that fare. It is refundable.
  8. I remember a couple years ago when people said that would never happen, and just like magic it has. Next stop bathing suits and robes with nothing underneath.
  9. 5 to 10 percent over consume? Some posters made it sound like everyone was doing that.
  10. Thank but you are pretending hal still has standards. While they may on long voyages, they certainly didn’t have any on my recent Mexico cruises. People were wearing pjs into club orange complete with slippers because it’s too difficult to change footwear I guess. Shorts were also acceptable in the mdr at night, something I’d never seen before on hal.
  11. The first ones haven’t been in my wardrobe for a long while. Mine are somewhere between the two. Didn’t think about the high heel. Thanks.
  12. I’m still wondering what dressy sandals are and what makes them dressy.
  13. I don’t think there have been any mariners lunches since pre Covid. They have had some small receptions.
  14. Hal doesn’t follow its dress suggestions. There was a time you couldn’t get into dining venues at night except the lido with shorts. Now anything goes. Don’t want to change out of your pj’s, you don’t have to. Sandals and flips flops would fall into the dressy category for hal now.
  15. Really? Did they have this promo pre covid? Which ship? Several? I’ve actually been on a ship since Covid and I’ve seen none of this behaviour that you’ve seen so much of. Do tell.
  16. You are right. There are judgemental people on here.
  17. I hope you get action with the let us know. I find if it’s a easy fix it gets addressed. If it isn’t, not so much
  18. Yum, escargot somewhere from the back. Only if it comes with a side of floor scraps 😉.
  19. Did you read the thread? The person said that people are encouraged to overeat and drink. Do your non drinkers pour drinks down that throat and eat every salty snack in sight? Hint, if they are non drinkers they don’t drink 😛. Getting something for free doesn’t usually change that unless they have prior drinking issues. Others had issue with the posters comments so why not quote everyone that said that instead of just me like I’m the only one that took issue?
  20. How could you not. You are classifying people as being mindless with no self control. Yup thats a compliment
  21. I don’t go on cruises to eat in a cafeteria. I’ve spent enough time in Canaletto to see there is nothing special going on in the lido. It’s right there. While I haven’t eaten dinner in the mdr for a while I have eaten in club orange and specialty restaurants. I would say the meals take 90 minutes plus in all venues. There has always been a lull in the mdr between courses when I’ve eaten there previously. I don’t think this is anything new. Maybe people are more impatient.
  22. I don't know if guest services goes out of its way to be obtuse but they have to make everything so unpleasant. They made all sorts of accusations about me losing all sorts of information on my last cruise. I pushed it and it turned out my cabin steward had misplaced all sorts of things. Once they found out what happened no apology was made to me for all the accusations they made. Not a good way to do business.
  23. I truly think I’ve heard everything now. While hia is barely worth it for me I do like the option of having a Perrier or water. I can’t stand pop of any sort. Not once have I ever downed salty stacks with my drink and I bet most people don’t either. I would think that people that are getting up there in age can’t mindlessly pour food and drink down their throats.
  24. Wow, that’s a first having the front desk resolve anything, especially in 5 minutes. They must be new 😛.
  25. How does it encourage passengers to eat and drink at an unhealthy pace? You get one free meal at a specialty restaurant. It doesn’t allow you to multiple meals. If you drink a lot having the drink package won’t change that. The most alcoholic drinks I had in a day was maybe 4, usually less. I never felt the need to stock up to get my moneys worth.
