  1. Arriving tomorrow via RCL. First time in Cozumel. Have no plans. Was just thinking of grabbing a taxi into San Miguel. Anything to see sites wise, maybe a good lunch spot, etc? Want to just walk around, maybe find some actual local Mexican shops. Don't want a beach day as we are in Cococay this trip too. Any ideas? Thanks
  2. Buy it when you can and keep checking back for lower prices. You can cancel and rebook if that happens.
  3. Your Set Sail pass is used before you get your seapass cards. The "DX" for the drink package is on there.
  4. Your picture shows up when you scan the card, so no real threat of people using your card to make unauthorized purchases. I've only been on one cruise since covid (another in 2 weeks), but was impressed with the speed of checkin.
  5. The shareholder benefit is OBC and it's very easy to get. We got back to cruising this past Jan and easily applied it to 3 cruises. One of which is in Oct 2024 and I'm no longer a shareholder. I'm getting 4.3% from a savings account with PNC on cash.
  6. Thanks for the heads up. It's down below 87 now. Wonder why it's tanking. I sold mine when it hit $109 from a $38 cost basis.
  7. Never felt checks were secure enough. I don't typically go around handing people my bank account numbers, name, address, etc. Different times now than when checks were popular.
  8. If it takes less than a week for the maintenance, this makes perfect sense as to why the weeks before and after your cruise can make the stops. They apparently need to shut that engine down for a few days once the maintenance can be done (available mechanics, parts, etc). You agreed to the terms when you signed the contract. You can't then come here and cry that you don't accept those terms. You may think that makes me an "RCL Tweaker," but I think it makes me an adult.
  9. If your credit is good, and you are concerned about holds, request a credit limit increase before you leave. Best to only use about 25-30% of your limit so if you do what I do and charge roughly $2,000 each month and pay it off, I want the limit to be at least $8k.
  10. I've always emailed the form and proof. I get a response within a couple days.
  11. When I bought in, my thought was hey, should make enough for a "free" cruise. Made enough to cover multiple cruises and also used the OBC offer 3 times. Big win, and really a No Brainer investment in 2020 and again when it dropped to the 30s last summer too.
  12. I'm out. Sold at $109 for a 180% profit.
  13. Every time I think I missed a chance to sell, I'm glad I held a few days later. Over 108 now.
  14. Yes I do. I have 2 cruises booked currently. One for Oct 23, one for Oct 24. Oct23 OBC has been applied and spent. I can use my last statement to request the credit for the Oct 24 cruise. Holding the 50 shares 4 more weeks will save me from paying the higher tax rate. At which time I'll make a decision on them.
  15. I have 50 shares held more than a year. 50 bought July 27, 2022. Up roughly 3k on the first set, and 3.5k on the second. My sell trigger finger is itchy for the first 50.
  16. I believe they no longer offer the slower plan on ships with Starlink.
  17. Thus past Jan, Monday morning to the ship was in the $65 range. Friday returning to MCO was $78 for UberX, $108 for UberXL. We had a GoPort bus, but checked out of curiosity.
  18. Never had a dinner longer than 1 hour 15 minutes on Mariner a couple weeks ago with the new menu. That also included a couple nights with multiple servings. I was able to customize a couple plates during that week. For example, no rice and beans, add a second pork chop on caribbean night.
  19. May take a bank a couple days to restore the funds to your bank account. There is also that period of time between the fraud and you noticing that could leave you with insufficient funds to cover other expenses. It is always safer to use a credit card than pay by check or even debit card.
  20. I think I heard they have 8 or 10 different new menus.
  21. Absolutely. First of all, if they defraud my credit card, they are using the bank's money and not mine. Secondly, who actually calls an operator and gives them credit card numbers? Online all those details are encrypted in any modern system. There are also temporary one time use credit card numbers that can be used.
  22. This was our first cruise since 2018. I'm not a foodie by any stretch, but I noticed a couple differences. The presentation was more basic and the serving staff seemed to have more tables than before and less time to get to know the guests. They were constantly going 100 miles an hour. Food was alright, but nothing special. No issues ordering multiples or even special requests. For example, I asked for 2 pork chops on caribbean night on the same plate without the rice and beans. Italian night I had two entrees, etc. We had MyTime dining and reservations the same time every night. Our server and table changed night 2. Night 4, we had to push for the same table, but admittedly we were a little early. On past cruises, it was a given that you'd have the same server team and table every night. I like having the same team so our specific requests don't need repeated. Dinner each night between sit down and stand up was about 75 minutes even with multiple starters and entrees on some nights.
  23. Just got off Mariner this past Friday. Ours was: 1 - Welcome Aboard 2 - Italian 3 - Caribbean 4 - French
  24. So your solution is to send your full unencrypted bank account number, routing number, and address to a random person. Seems secure.
