  1. Starlink will appear first in Grandeur....
  2. The ships have satellite based internet right now but they use high earth orbit satellites. Starlink uses Low Earth orbit satellites and many more of them so they can offer more bandwidth for less money. Regent, as of right now, is only using about 25% of the hardware capability installed on the ships but the current company is expensive. Swapping to Starlink later this year will improve speed, bandwidth and cost.
  3. Totally. Just leave the ship a day early. Problem solved,
  4. In the past, Regent took a lot of flak from people because the book prices changed by the time they went to deposit a cruise. People complained that they should honor the printed prices. Now people are complaining that you have to look up the prices online. They aren't hiding the prices - they are getting more life out of their very expensive cruise books. You can ask your TA for prices, you can call Regent for prices or you can look them up online. If I was Regent, I would have done the same thing...better people complain they have to take another step than complain about a Bait and Switch on the part of Regent when prices change.
  5. I didnt say no Regent passenger has ever gotten it....just that i have never heard of anyone getting it. I am no expert but i read a lot and hear more than I read...if it was common we would know. I dont even think the crew takes it.
  6. I've never heard of a Regent client getting malaria. Also, be careful of Doxycycline (or anything in that family) as it will make your skin photosensitive and you can literally cook your middle layers of skin tissue and wind up in hospital...especially near the equator. Having said all that, our drug of choice (for this purpose) is Atovaquone/Proguanil (Malarone).
  7. Sorry you had that experience. In 450 nights, I've never had a problem getting something that worked for me. I think the earlier you submit, the greater your chance for success. I hope you have a wonderful cruise! 😃
  8. You send in 3 or 4 options - RA will price them all - you pick what you want. Simple.
  9. 70 days out but pay the $175 deviation fee and pick your own flights. Your TA can tell you how it works.
  10. I don't know if this helps but Prime 7 seems on par with Ruth's Chris...to my limited ability to tell the difference.
  11. Ask around when you are onboard. Find a TA who travels on Regent extensively and has a high level SSS membership (they don't get credit for nights if they travel as a TA). They should have skin in the game as a client, not just as a TA.
  12. You can use them in the shop or in the spa or for higher end booze...but I would suggest shopping for top level service vs. amount of onboard credit kickback.
  13. I am thinking they might not be doing it going forward - but that is opinion only. Also, the prices in the big book are always subject to change.
  14. They don't usually print prices in the bigger books as they change so often it would be a waste of money. The prices are on the website.
  15. Mariner is scheduled for drydock in November of 2025.
  16. Both the ship and the staff will be totally different in 3 years...she is due for a drydock and the staff will not be green from the Covid break. You will love it!
  17. The fine print might possible exclude Business Class air and put you into Economy Plus....check before you make the change.
  18. Apologies. I do no t wish to argue but I also do not want to be accused of something it was not my intention to do. This explains the PTE window, how it is typically 90 days and you can see that the 2 year PTE window offered to certain employees is not at all common. https://carta.com/blog/pte-90-day-window/ The 2022Q4, 2022EOY and 2023Q1 filings also have a lot of good info about benefits available to certain employees going forward including retention of some nice benefits.
  19. As a stockholder, any public release of information is 100% my business and my DUTY to read. There are hundreds of pages of SEC filings, please feel free to avail yourself of this opportunity to read them. I have CLEARLYT stated MULTIPLE times that I am not sullying anyone's reputation and I am speaking to the COMMON corporate practice of retaining an employee so that they can use their options. I have said that I have met Jason and liked him and I also think he did a fine job. I think if you read the public material, you would be very surprised at what has gone down in the past 6 months.
  20. Thats because you are not a pricipal officer in a publically traded company. To the stockholders it is absolutely thier business and the info is released to the public in compliance with SEC regulations.
  21. There are new people on all the ships...paired up with experienced staff. It is an effective means of teaching the new staff as quickly as possible. An unavoidable result of the high attrition rate due to Covid.
  22. Read the salary and contract agreements...they are all public record. You would be surprised how much money was handed out recently. I won't put them here...no need to fan the flames.
