  1. That is good news, thank you very much for the information.
  2. Delighted to hear that Leon de Ste. Croix is still to be found loitering with intent on P&O ships. We have fond memories of him from Oriana some years ago. We enjoyed his humour. Looks like you are having a fab time and I am not jealous at all. I’m not. Really, I’m not. Not……..
  3. Me and my better half are straddling 60 between us, with some medical issues we have to declare. This year we found Admiral was the best price for us.
  4. Hi all, new to NCL. We are on the Iceland/Norway trip from Southampton on Prima in September. I see that Gerainger is a tender port. How long does it take to get off the ship normally in such a situation? I want to book a RIB trip but need to know any potential delays in going ashore first. What do you think the chances of not getting into port are? I see some cruise lines struggling with this location.
  5. On Tortola we did an island tour on one of the Jitney buses. These are open topped jeep base charabancs and are very reasonable price wise. Then after we relaxed in the Aromas martini and cigar bar. It was an enjoyable day, especially if you like a Cuban cigar with your martini 😁.
  6. On a whim we booked a cruise with NCL in September. Their admin and IT prowess make P&O look pretty good!
  7. We just booked a cruise in September with NCL at a very aggressive price (comparatively) over a similar priced P&O offering. We only have experience of P&O so far so it will be an interesting experience. We still have Arvia booked for next May.
  8. We did some jewellery shopping in St Kitts as it was our silver wedding anniversary. I found Mrs SB a beautiful silver necklace covered in a very pale amethyst which she really liked. Once the deal was done the shop wanted to have a drink with us. Next thing we know we have two large cocktails called monkey punch. Mrs SB did not like it, so I drank hers and mine. We then left the shop. A couple of minutes later it became apparent that we had to return to the ship instanta whilst I could still feel my legs. We made it back and I was fine after some food. I would love to know what else apart from the obvious rum was in that!
  9. Catamaran in Antigua, Tall Ship sailing in St. Maarten, private tour by Cosol in St. Lucia, catamaran and beach lobster bbq in Grenada, submarine trip in Barbados. These are all thing we did which I would do again.
  10. Oriana was the one for a bit of vibration. Cutlery and glasses walking across the table in the MDR!
  11. The lobster discussions always remind me of our Caribbean cruise on Azura in 2016. There was a gala dinner with lobster as the star dish. Apparently many strange people did not want to eat lobster, so our waiter kept bringing me extra portions. I was a happy diner that night. It wasn’t a patch on the bbq lobster on the beach in Grenada though!
  12. Will I have to grow a moustache and cultivate my chest hair? And motor down to Southampton in the jag?
  13. Yes I think most of us are much more sneeze and cough aware now and try not to inflict it upon others. Sadly not everybody though….
  14. Well if people were coughing for a myriad of reasons pre covid, then post covid they are still coughing for a myriad of reasons plus covid as an extra!
  15. Welcome to a new day MB2. I hope everything is now plain sailing! (Sorry for the atrocious pun, it’s what I do best….) Here’s hoping a good nights sleep has been enjoyed and you can relax and enjoy the rest of your trip.
  16. Have a lovely cruise, I hope everything goes smoothly for you. We are not on Arvia until next May so hopefully all the glitches will be ironed out by then!
  17. Great review. Your girls sound like mine used to be. They could lose absolutely anything absolutely anywhere! Have a fab time.
  18. It’s a while since I was last in Stavanger, but from what I remember the museum is a short walk from where you berth. It was a good place to visit, but I think I may have been influenced by the raven haired Viking maiden that took us round it! The farm and the swords were definitely further away.
  19. Not on board that ship unfortunately. I had some elsewhere though 😁
  20. We keep saying we must go back. The trouble is there are so many other places and so little money!
  21. Well we did go out on a tall ship for the day in St. Maarten, and I got to take the helm and control the lateen sail to keep her in the wind while the crew took down the main sails . That was quite exciting. So I could be a pirate as I have sailed a square rigger in the Caribbean, aarrrrr…. 😂
  22. Best holiday we ever had. Beautiful islands, lovely people, great weather, everything is “no problem”. And there is rum, did I mention the rum? There is rum. If you are going to St. Lucia I can recommend Cosol tours. They take you all over the island and feed you in an action packed fun filled day that is really good value. Don’t forget to try the rum. We ended our cruise with a day out on a catamaran around Grenada, followed by a lobster beach bbq. It was magical. Great memories! Great rum…
  23. I may be old fashioned, but I love wearing a dinner jacket in the evenings whilst on board. - it’s smart - I know it’s smart - I don’t need to think about whether it is smart - Mrs Sussexboy thinks that I look devastatingly handsome in it….
  24. No worries, just thought I would ask. We were last there in 2016 before hurricane Irma laid waste to much of the island. Looks like you are having a great time and I am not envious at all. Well, maybe just a little! We are not on Arvia until May next year, so don’t worry about tidying up 😁
  25. Is the Martini and Cigar Bar still open down by the quayside on Tortola?
