I love Patrick. He is one of the best.  He has always gone above & beyond. Have traveled with him many times. He was on the Dawn however he just went on his vacation. If you do have an opportunity to travel with him as your Concierge watch out as you will be spoiled...

Thanks-I had heard he was leaving. Very curious to know who we’re going to have!

So you can buy a bar set up if wanted? Are the bottle reasonable or doubled like wine is usually?

I don’t remember exact pricing, but I remember it being pretty expensive. We aren’t huge drinkers, so I was just glancing at the information.

Has anyone done the Silver Cove Buffet?  Says grilled lobster and other items not on the regular buffet.

I was there twice pre-COVID and never saw anything close to grilled lobster. There was a nice watermelon feta salad, but other than that it was chicken, maybe some fish, burgers, hit dogs, and pizza. Was not impressed.

  4. If you are in an owners suite, deluxe owners suite, or garden villa, you get bottles of alcohol and mixers included. Anything below the owners suite would be for an additional charge. You can have all of the mini-bar items removed and get pitches of juices and tea to put in the fridge, but sodas and alcohol are extra.

Just got off the Pearl this morning in a 3 bedroom villa. Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't yet been lucky enough to snag one of these amazing rooms - they do maintenance on the hot tubs around 3am when you're sleeping.

Wish they had given us a little heads up warning... we got woken up around 2:30 from loud thumping and vibrations (deck furniture above us was moving around in the wind) and when we peeked out our curtains towards the main deck area saw guys in white jumpsuits. Freaked us out a bit because earlier in the day we had caught some uninvited guests down in our balcony area who had gone 'exploring' and found an unlocked door on our upper balcony and made themselves at home. When I pointed out to them that this was a private area, they got snarky with me and said "well you should have locked your door". No... you should have read the sign on such said door that said "Villa guests only".

Regardless... after that encounter and seeing a crew of folks out there in the wee hours of the morning it was startling. But it was legit NCL crew who were sitting on our loungers to take off their shoes so they could climb into the drained hot tub and scrub it out for us. Again, a warning would have been nice...

Wow! Thanks for this. We’re in the GV on the Dawn in a couple of weeks and I’m glad to know that crew may show up in the early hours. I’m a light sleeper and would be freaked out to find people in a courtyard. As far as the passengers…WOW! Of course, not surprising that they got snarky and “blamed” you-that’s how people are nowadays. 🙄

I didn't mix anything together! Read NCL web site! Pasted Directly!

I posted before that if you want NCL to pay you back if YOU test positive at the dock then you must take a test 2-3 days before with a negative result!

You posted this: Not what the email I got said. I quoted exactly what the email said. "all guests will be tested at the port and it will be paid for by the cruise line. You will not be able to sail if you test positive. Seems easy to understand to me. I have read every piece of documentation and no where does it say I need to get tested prior to showing up at the port.

Again if you want your cruise fare paid back then test before cruise day. If they force you into a hotel for 5-10 days and you don't want to pay for it your self then get tested! If you don't want to pay for room service for 5-10 days then get tested!

Actually, the 96 hr test is related to payment of quarantine  expenses, not the cruise fare.

As it states, in the lastest Feb. 8, 2022 NCL news: At the time of check-in guests will be required to provide proof of a negative covid -19-antigen or PCR test result administered by a verified third party within 2 days prior boarding originating in a US Port. This is BEFORE 3/1/22. After March 1, 2022, one test only.

Please provide this documentation, as their website states that cruises embarking prior to 3/1/22 has testing at the port. No mention of a previous test taken 2 days prior. Any test taken prior to arriving at the port, to my understanding, is strictly voluntary.

Ok, so I might be ignorant here.  I am not seeing anywhere on the NCL Sail Safe page where CVS is an acceptable option for testing.

Can anyone please provide location that CVS is acceptable.  The anxiety of this testing process is making me reconsider.

    Thanks for your time

At time of check-in, all guests will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result administered by a verified third party or via medically supervised home test (i.e. https://www.emed.com/ or BioReference's Scarlet service - BioReference sends a trained Scarlet Health Professional to your home to collect your COVID-19 test specimen), within two days prior to boarding for cruises originating in a U.S. port and three days prior for voyages departing from a non-U.S. port.

CVS tests are antigen and are administered by a verified third party.

I tried looking on the CVS website.  It sounds like it will try to bill your health insurance.  Not sure what your health insurance would think of covering the test for travel.

Has anyone been through CVS testing travel?

I’ve tested through them for travel. But the cvs site, as of today, doesn’t ask any questions about travel. When it did (last summer), I indicated it was for travel and my insurance covered it completely. I’m not sure why others are saying you have to pay at cvs for a travel test, unless it’s an insurance thing with a particular insurance company. But like I said, the questions don’t even ask about travel.

I believe Garden Villa and Owner Suite are one and the same, depending upon the ship.

No, they are not. Owners suites are very nice, but are one or sometimes 2 bedroom with a large balcony. Garden villas are over the top-3 bedroom, separate living and dining room, many have a piano, and they have a courtyard area and an upper deck. The whole she-bang can run upwards of 6,000 sq ft of private space. Garden villas get the 6 bottles on a 7 day cruise and owners suites only get the 3.

what are some examples of food you saw in the cove? id def want to go see the entire selection for myself but later on is there a server to bring food to you?

edit: found one vid of food and it looks the same as whats in the regular area. so i assume nothing upgraded like cococay and their private area with filet etc

NOTHING like the Coco Beach Club, unfortunately. With what you pay for a Silver Cove Villa, it should be though. Slightly better than the main area food, but still a basic buffet.

  12. Or perhaps at 90 and 77, they will enjoy being treated like the king and queen they are. The butler and concierge will likely go out of their way to help them and know how to do so without without making them feel feeble. My grandmother cruised at that age, and while the Haven didn’t exist back then, the ship’s staff always made her feel so special.
