What types of specials did they have in the Haven?
-
I would tell him when you are pre-planning the meal and ordering the food. Shouldn’t be a problem.

On our May Bliss cruise, the Haven rooms were called by muster station to board the ship, starting with muster station A. We were in the Haven proper and the grands were not, but we both were assigned muster station C. The guide took us directly to the muster station where our cards were scanned, then took us to the Haven for a tour.
This may vary by embarkation port. We’ve never been called by muster station. In Port Canaveral, they’ve always just taken small groups based on arrival time. In Tampa, we were escorted on alone with no wait, as we were in the Garden Villa.

The best steak I've ever had on NCL, and one of the best I've ever had anywhere, was in La Cucina on the Epic this past May. The second best, at least on NCL, was in Le Bistro a few years ago. I've never been favorably impressed with the steaks in Cagney's, so I usually order fish or lamb when we dine there.
Completely agree about the steak at La Cucina. So good! The blue cheese ravioli and the peppercorn sauce are nice accompaniments.

There is not a bag limit on carry ones.

We loved it. Have it booked for a 2nd time at $160. Loved the food, loved the service, loved the atmosphere. I have no desire to be in the party crowd people soup that is the big pool.

So excited to get back to normal! Been on 2 cruises since COVID and haven’t gotten it as far as I know (the one time I had it, I was asymptomatic). Everyone should have their choice! Van, no vax, mask or not!

So excited for this review-I can’t believe it’s been so long. Luckily your cruise wasn’t a few days earlier. We had a little visitor named Ian who may have given you problems. Bon voyage! Mariner was our first cruise back after COVID (last Oct) and we loved it!

My daughter is in kindergarten and food generally falls into 2 categories: Things she can't eat, and things she won't eat.
Does anyone have good knowledge of how being celiac on a cruise is as far as options go? My daughter eats a lot of plain rice with soy sauce or hoisin (gluten free obviously), does anyone know if they stock things like that?
My daughter is the pickiest kid on earth. She also has celiac. Now, we cruise in the Haven so it might be different. But, we plan her meals in advance with the restaurant manager. She has a standing order of the bread from Moderno (GF) delivered to wherever she is dining. They make her whatever she wants and deliver it wherever she wants. For example, our last cruise was on the Dawn. We ate at Le Bistro. She had bread from Moderno, GF pasta carbonara from La Cucina, and dessert from Cagney’s. They make her a lot of GfF Mac & cheese and are incredibly knowledgeable about the difference between Celiac and simply eating gluten free.

Am I the only person who never wants to order more than one of each?
I usually don’t, but sometimes might want app, soup AND salad. For me it’s the point of being given incorrect information.

So we're down to, "go ahead, order it and lets see what we can get away with" type of advice?
lol
I want to be a fly on the wall when all the people in this thread told someone to just order whatever they want as long as it's not an entree because you won't get charged ...... when they finally get the bill and got charged.
That'll be a whole new thread when they get back.
It’s not about getting away with anything. It’s the terms & conditions of the package and it’s calling their bluff. I’ve had servers try the 1-1-1 thing, but on out last cruise in March, our server literally said “one entree and unlimited anything else”. That is what the terms & conditions state. Nobody is trying to cheat the system.

I didn’t find it too warm or humid, but I’m from Florida. 🤷🏼♀️

We avoid connecting rooms because we don’t like having the door. However, I would honestly never give it a thought, other than that. I don’t think people who book them and don’t need them are rude or inconsiderate at all. They are doing what works for them. It’s not like someone is specifically requesting a handicap accessible room when they don’t need it.

Why not? Keep it fresh! It’s great that Teppanyaki finally got an actual name. The Palomar menu is nothing like OB, so why should it have the same name?

Christmas Cove doesn’t have a beach.

Pre-COVID, I loved Ocean Blue. There were more selections, the bread is outstanding, and they have a really good chocolate dessert. I’d probably try Onda, as I can get seafood in the Haven and steak at Cagney’s and in the Haven. Personally, I really dislike Le Bistro and would probably drop that and do both!

Go to the Soggy Dollar and have a painkiller! Its a wonderful laid back place.
Plan on spending time there in Dec and A LOT of time there next June! We have a villa overlooking White Bay for 8 days!

We’re doing this excursion in December. I haven’t actually been to JVD, but it’s a bucket list place for me and we have a week booked next year, so I’ve spent a lot of time researching and staring at the webcam. White Bay is usually very calm, so it seems way more likely that you would be close to the beach. However, it’s always a possibility.

For quieter, definitely try Secret Harbour. There is a restaurant (The Patio) there. We spent a week in STT in that area and it was great!

Is there a Haven area on the island?
No, nothing exclusively Haven.

We’ve done both and liked both. Lagoon villa was a bit (2 yrs?) newer and was bigger, but Ocean villa is cheaper. We booked an Ocean villa for our Dec cruise.

We’re on this itinerary in December. It was originally me, Dh and DD in a 2 bedroom on 17 and mom next door. DH can’t come due to work (don’t get me started 🙄), so it’s just me and DD in the 2 bedroom! I spent the money we got back from DH’s fare on spa passes for us and the premium beverage upgrade! 🤣
