  1. I will be on the Eclipse arriving in Buenos Aires on Sunday, December 23. The ship arrives at 5:00 am.

Would anyone know what time passengers can leave the ship if they are carrying their own luggage. I contacted Celebrity but I could not get a straight answer on debarkation time for the Eclipse in Buenos Aires.

I would like to catch a 9:00 am flight and as it is Sunday, traffic should be light so I presume an hour to the airport. This would leave two hours before the KLM departure if we were able to leave the ship at 6:00 am.

I would much appreciate comments from those who are familiar with disembarcation at that port. Especially near a holiday time period. Are there taxis right at the port or do you have to shuttle to them. Is there security or custom checks as you leave the ship?

How about the airport? Long lineups at security? Is the KLM booth close to taxi dropoff and easy to find?

    Thank you.

9 a m flight? No way. You will not be able to make on time being there couple times I will not book a flight before 11 am

    Good luck

  2. Really? I have no time for people who don't tip the recommended amount and stiff the crew, but neither do I for those who come on a public forum and show off how much extra they give. Which is what you are doing.

  3. My feedback after calling Captain's Club :

Yes, I am pleasantly surprised. Although my husband and I were clearly indicated as wife and husband in our profiles and same address, etc., an extra step seemed to be necessary to "marry us " before Celebrity . This is now done. My husband will receive Elite PLUS status, same as mine. BUT : only when travelling on same cruise in same cabin with me. If he would travel alone or with some one else, he would then have his own earned status, which remains ELITE.

That is what I was told by the Captain's Club representative during my today's call.

What’s the difference between the Elite Plus and the Elite what is the most important perk being an PLUS

    Thanks

  4. Last October I arranged a van from SAS to pick up a group of us from our roll call. I requested a 9:00 a.m. pickup and asked the group to meet at 8:00 a.m. on the ship so we could all disembark together. A few weeks before the cruise, some members of the group had Southwest change their flight time to something like 11:45 but they decided to take the chance and stick with us. We disembarked the ship, I called SAS and said we were ready and a van was right there to meet us. We were at the airport by 9:45 a.m. easily. This time frame included some of us (DH and I) having to wait a very long time for our luggage to appear. For everyone else, the luggage carousel at Port of Miami is great. For us, not so much.

But, my point is, even with some delay, we were at FLL with time to spare.

Hi. We are a family of 10 do you suggest a vam from SAS?

    Thanks

  5. This is my personal opinion, but I'd feel awkward carrying food from the OVC around the ship. I see people doing it, getting in lifts with plates of food etc. I think it looks awful.

    Phil

NO it doesn’t.....las week my wife was sick i was the butler. Going to the OVC And getting the food for her without any problem or embarrassment....we were on RS...the food on OVC was much better than the Lumanae

  6. Yes it my understanding that you can all eat in Blu(providing there is room) for no fee. They can join you in Luminae but will have to pay a fee. You can order off the Blu and Luminaee while dinning in the Luminae. But I am not sure if you can order off the Luminae while dinning at the Blu.

  7. I think the ship will make it with reduced ports and expectations. One of my questions is with today's navigation information why could we not have diverted to another port sooner? I personally was frightened looking at the seas as we were trying to get out of the storms way. It has been a long time on the ship and many passengers feel the problem was misrepresented to then and no one gave them the option to cancel.

    OH. NO

We are going to be in this ship in the next couple of days out of. B A.

I’m Hoping. We visit all the ports but if not are they give any future discounts I think if we miss a port due to the ship propulsion the passengers should have some form of future credit no excuses here

    Well wether its different

    Do you have any suggestions

  8. You'll probably receive many different post saying this or that repellant is the best, but this report provides really good objective information: https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/insect-repellent.htm

If you can buy one of the higher rated repellants in the UK, I'd buy it there. If not, get it in the US before embarkation. Don't wait until you are aboard.

There's tons of tips on the internet, such as wearing light coloured clothes, long sleeves, long pants etc., should you not get enough helpful information here.

I've done the 14-day Southern Caribbean cruise several times on Celebrity and have visited all of the islands multiple times on other cruises. We've never had any problem with mosquitos, and while we take it with us on every shore excursion, we've never applied any. You are wise to take precautions, but don't let it become a distraction.

    Good information

  9. We had very little contact with her. We met her in Michael’s Club when we boarded and she was pleasant. Then we had brief interaction with her at the bridge tour/officer’s lunch. Beyond that we just saw her from a distance a few times. I agree that she did not project as warm of a vibe but she seemed extremely efficient. We didn’t have any issues she needed to address as we went through our butler or the Suite Manager. Erick, the Suite Manager, was actually much more warm and approachable and very accommodating to some celebratory requests we had.

  10. I've never noticed a bartender giving a suite passenger any preferential treatment (and trust me I would notice). They try as best they can to take people in the order they step up to the bar and most passengers seem to know the system too. Even when it's busy at a bar I doubt I've waited more than about 5 minutes (which seems like an eternity when my glass is empty;p)

    Thanks

  11. As the popularity of the drink packages go up and more people get them, The service will go down. Its just general business sense. I think the break even point is 5 drinks? Celebrity knows this. Why would they add more people to the payroll just so they can give out more drinks? They want you to drink less. more time waiting= less drinks served. simple.

Ya make sense. How about pax with platinum sea pass 9. suite pax are they have priority ?

  12. I have similar feelings. In the last 10 years we've cruised nearly 30 times, and taken at least as many land-based trips. We've never yet had a situation in which we would have made a claim on travel insurance, but if we'd purchased it each time, we would have spent thousands on it. We have an emergency evacuation policy but that's it.

It's not that simple. Some have a higher risk tolerance than others. Some can easily manage the cost of a surprise couple of nights in a hotel if a flight is canceled. Some have some insurance benefits through various credit cards. Some even have elite level frequent flyer benefits that allow much more liberal changes and cancellations to airline tickets than are typically allowed. Everyone has to look at their own situation and consider their own level of risk tolerance to decide if insurance is worth it for them, be it for a given trip or for every trip.

    In my opinion

    Don’t leave home without it

  13. We do too but jumping from a CS to a RS on our next cruise in 82 days would mean an additional 3400 dollars PER PERSON.....just can't justify that....though I would love to....

Can I suggest keep looking for prices they go up and down we just jump from CS to RS 15 days for $300 per person , a deal we couldn’t refuse. Good luck

  14. In my experience, laundry and dry cleaning in a royal suite or the penthouse is free as long as you don't abuse the privilege. Things come back pressed and on hangers, not stuffed in a bag.

    Oh ....thanks good information

  15. The deciding factor between MedJet vs. GeoBlue Trekker for us is that GeoBlue includes both medical coverage and transportation whereas Medjet only covers transportation. To us GeoBlue is alot more comprehensive. An ideal situation is to have all levels of travel insurance but it is up to each of us to way cost vs. risk. For us it is simply Chase Sapphire Reserve + GeoBlue Trekker Choice.

We agree and that’s exactly what we have

    Bon Voyage

  16. I just got off the Summit in a Royal Suite. One of the biggest perks to me was that on disembarkation day we could stay in Michael's Club until the ship needed to be cleared (that was about 9:30 am). Then the Michael's Club concierge escorted us off the ship and took us to the front of all lines directly to the immigration officer. Also luggage from suites is the first off, so it is available whenever you want to claim it. We were off and in a taxi in very few minutes.

I think you will love all the benefits of suite class guests. Have a great trip.

    Carolyn

Can you please tell us other perks available for royal suites PX like restaurants do you pay extra for those especial restaurants like Murano ,Tuscany etc

  17. I have always insured my trips and have used the cruisline insurance. I have had to cancel 2 cruises at the last minute due to medical emergencies and have not had any trouble getting my money back. I found the companies to be very helpful in completing the claims. I have compared prices for my upcoming cruises with insuremytrip and found there not to be a big difference in pricing. My sister gets yearly trip insurance from an outside vendor and is very happy.

I’m depending I’m my chase reserve. C/C. They claim they offer good insurance and travel protection

I’m wondering how good this people is if you need to submit a claim

Any body out there had any experience dealing with Chase Bank claims

  18. Thanks. Bo

I keep one in each packet just in case. But the one I like the most and very handy is USA. PASSPORT CARD.

It dos not replace you regular passport but in my case it was accepted in many countries. I think everyone US citizens travel abroad should have one

    Bon voyage
