We had aft-facing balcony 13304 on Getaway in February and no problems at all. Enjoy your cruise!
Maybe the ones up higher? Like deck 14 ? We move from AFP deck 14 to FWP. Just because the smoke problem

I've been in a Deluxe Owners Suite and I would not do it again. We found the balcony to be large and beautiful. This was in a caribbean cruise and the wind was so bad when the ship was moving as to make the balcony unuseable. In fact, on two different nights the crew lashed the balcony furniture together to prevent it from being blown over board. One of the nights we were already in bed and did not realize the crew had come into our room until the next morning.
Oh really ? I s that bad ?
Now I’m thinking if we made the right choice this is for the Gateway Mediterranean summer cruise

Yes we did loose 400 bucks !!! Oh well that’s what we want not necessarily what we need .

Your post makes no sense. I highly doubt that NCL is simply holding any Haven rooms for bids - why would they if they can sell it outright? The cabin you are looking at is showing sold out online.
As to learning when you've won your bid - that usually happens much closer to your sail date. Your only hope for learning now would be if they wanted your current cabin in order to resell - and since that is also showing as sold-out anything is possible but highly unlikely IMHO - especially this far ahead of the sail date.
The bidding process is to make money for NCL, plain and simple.
Recently we bid max O S H2. Only one was available. There is only 2 the price was much lower on different websites then my bid I call my T A 3 times it was not available for me. Kinda of strange.
So I cancel my bid I call my T A. And yes it was available to me of course I grabbed it
for $2 000 lower than my bid
Dos it makes any sense ?

amex needs to know from your travel history that you cruise. you won’t “qualify” for the NCL amex offer if you haven’t made a cruise related purchase - on any cruise line - on your amex card. pro tip: even if amex isn’t your preferred credit card for NCL purchases, charge something, anything on NCL.com to amex. could be a deposit or an excursion or a final payment. once having done that, you can go back to using another card, such as the BOA NCL mastercard, if that’s what you prefer. a few months later, you may well get an NCL offer from amex.
OH really. Probably the reason I never had an offer.

while i dont mean to rain on anyone else's parade, we are now on page 125 of this post.
some people will get upgrade notifications, some others will not. it has been posted before, ncl has absolutely no obligation to offer anyone an upgrade choice. for those of you that bid and are successful, great, for those of you that bid and are unsuccessful you are no worse off then the cabin you originally booked. whether or not anyone else got the upgrade is completely irrelevant to anyone else's chances for the same.
isnt it time we put this post to rest?
Not really. Keep going
. This is good information especial for new NCL. Cruisers. Like us .

Points are still considered spend even if it isn't cash 🙂 My example is more that we had a regular balcony the last time on the Joy and minimum spend to bid on Haven was a lot higher than starting from a Club Balcony on Joy this time.
Is that possible if you booked and paid you cabin interior or balcony they NCL offer you to bid in penthouse or owners suite ? It’s a really big jump in $$$

May I ask how much minimum/max to bid for the Owner's Penthouse
Thanks in advance

We went from an ocean view to a balcony for $210 pp. I believe we are close to capacity. Our daughter got an offer to upgrade to the Owener's Suite from a balcony, so there seems to be quite a leap there.

It's hard to see how any of us can be helpful to the OP.
Let's assume that the 6:30 disembarkation time is real. The good news is that Sunday traffic from the port to the airport will be better than any other day of the week, so that's a plus.
At the airport we know that flights into Israel have more security to get through than any other destination, so that's a bit of a negative, in terms of risk assessment for making the flight.
The key variables are:
* time you can disembark (best case is 6:30)
* travel time to the airport (best case is 50 minutes)
* check-in and security time
Only the OP can assign risk to each variable and decide if the value of this flight is outweighed by the risk of not making it.
We are disembarking in the morning August 27 Gateway our flight is at 1:30 I’m hoping to make this flight on time One never know what could happen

Max is your only hope.
Yes if someone cancels
No it will not ruin anything. They only care about money.
Not to rain on your parade but you must take into account all those already in Haven who paid way much more. Those in a deluxe haven would rather have the aft haven so they will bid also along with the other higher categories. Add up what they paid and add a bid. They already may be higher overall.
Your best option is bid on lowest Haven's.
We are in the haven Gateway 80 days out First time sailing NCL AFT. Penthouse we got an invitation to bid for the owners penthouse
only 2 available both open at this time we bid. $700 above the minimum p/p. What you think our chances
we are ok with our cabin but its a bit far to the haven proper
Thank you in advance

When we were on Breakaway March 2022, we had a DLOS w/large balcony. The balcony was simply and completely unuseable when the ship was underway due to the wind. In fact, twice during this cruise (Western Caribbean) the crew actually lashed all the balcony furnisher together in one giant pile to prevent the wind from blowing it overboard. We will never again book a forward facing balcony.
We just completed another Breakaway cruise, this time in an aft facing penthouse. Much better, much larger balcony, no wind, plenty of shade.
Glad to hear that

We agree with BirdTravels:
"We love forward facing suites, they are the absolute best rooms on the ship."
They are The Very Best!
We LOVE the views. We prefer to see "where we are going", rather than "where we have been", or what is often just side views. Those are great, but not as good as that precious forward view.
As for the lights, we tend to just keep our lights off and the curtains open, all night, rather than keeping the curtains closed.

Oh really? I’m thinking changing ours AFT penthouse for F facing penthouse and is much cheaper too
Should we ?

Hello my dear Haven experts!! I have a question. A controversial question. A question that will make some convulse. I'm sorry, but I have to do it, so that I prepare my husband and I for our cruise.
Before asking, if at all possible, please just keep to this specific question. I really don't want to create a huge tangent (hence my hesitation in even asking this question).
On our previous Getaway sailings, we were always allowed to enter the Haven Restaurant wearing t-shirts, athletic shorts (sometimes PJ pants), and flip flops. I've created a stir somewhere else with people showing placards that the Breakaway Haven Restaurant requires collared shirts and closed-toe shoes. Saturday, we'll be boarding Norwegian Joy. For those that have cruised frequently (and recently) on Joy (specifically), do you know if there is a dress code for the restaurant? Do they allow flippie floppies, t-shirts, and athletic shorts for all meals, including dinner? Or, are they more demanding requiring collars and sneakers?
Thank you...and please don't less this question take us through the whirlwind of where it could go. 🙂
SOUNDS WERD. Y not just dress normal ?

Just had my first dinner with officers. This is my first cruise as Diamond. Was never able to so it as Sapphire since the program was not running due to COVID restrictions.
The invite letter said the Chief Engineer would be joining, and during the actual dinner the Chief plus the Shore Excursion Manager also showed up.
We had one guest no-show. There were four other guests besides myself. Two of the guests were on a B2B2B or so (42 days on ship, this is only an 11-day segment). Due to their long stay, they mentioned they also got a personal tour of the bridge by the Captain on one of their earlier segments. One of the other guests was on their first cruise ever, and the final guest was on their first NCL cruise ever. I'm not sure if they had been on a wait-list or maybe had a suite.
A photo was taken but I haven't received it yet (been 3-4 days). Guess I'll run down to cruise next and ask them about it. We dined in the Main Dining Room.
I also asked about Starlink and heard the tests NCL was doing on the other ships was going well at sea, the problem was when in port, Starlink doesn't have licenses to be used in all the countries the ship visits yet and they are still working out the details with that.
Everyone had a nice time.
First time NCL cruises getting envied to dinner with the officers ? It’s kinda unusual maybe they are in the owner’s penthouse or maybe they just roll de dice

The best and fastest is a private transfer. Even if you disembark at 9 am, you would be at the airport by 10 am, 3.5 hours before your flight. That's plenty of time.
Thank you

When you say you had priority debarkation was that because you were in the Haven or just that you walked off with your luggage? Our last Mediterranean cruise was 4 years ago but if I recall correctly, disembarking didn’t seem to take as long as it does for a cruise from the US. Am I remembering that correctly?
Our first time disembarking Civitavecchia arriving at 7 AM. Our flight back home same day is 1:35
what is the best way and the fastest to get to the airport we don't have priority disembarkation
thanks for the help

Very very windy on the Getaway right now. The Getaway’s cabana is shaped like an igloo so the answer is yes it cuts it down tremendously. Doesn’t stop all of the wind but it does cut it down significantly. I was at the Vibe bar today. There was about 15 people in the Vibe. The wind started going crazy. Lounge pillows flying everywhere. The Vibe emptied. I went in my cabana with my wife. She was laying down reading a book. She didn’t even know what was going on out there.
A side note. There is 4800 people on the Getaway. They sold 150 Vibe tix. Apparently they say the Getaway is one of the biggest vibes. Only 5 cabanas. I think it was worth the extra 89$. Just wish there was music.
Quick question. Do you have the same cabana every day or you can pick what ever is available
thanks

We feel exactly the same way. We have never sailed NCL without the Vibe except once when we stayed in a Haven cabin and we regretted not getting the passes that week. We have passes for our February 2024 and June 2024 sailings already. If they were not available, we would switch to another alternative as we have no interest in fighting for deck space with 4000 plus passengers.
@cruisinpipsAgain, I would check everyday for cancellations.
We will be in the Haven Gateway for 10 days its our first time cruising NCL we don’t know if its a good idea or even if is worth $650 for both of us since we are in the Haven
appreciate you opinion
Thanx
