When you are booked in a Regent hotel is breakfast included?   We will be at the Intercontinental in Miami.

We were booked by Regent at The Intercontinental last December.  The hotel and breakfast were quite acceptable.  What was not, was the coordination for the transfer to the pier.  The Regent desk at the hotel will assign a bus #, but, no matter your number, all passengers will congregate willy nilly when bus # arrives.  The bus driver will not check your number, so those that push harder will go in first.  This was our experience.  I would recommend you get a taxi to the pier, which is not at all far from the hotel.

We were on Grandeur over Christmas and it was Intercontinental now on Splendor and was Hyatt Coral Gables, don't know if it matters but both times we booked a PH category.   Reading how others got much better hotels especially for what we paid for the Grandeur PH A doesn't make me a in a rush to run back.

We had no problem with the Intercontinental...Bayshore Market with good restaurants nearby... however we would not have liked a Coral Gables hotel (mostly residential area).  What I found unacceptable was the transport to the pier organization at the Intercontinental.  Next time a taxi will do.

  3. We do make good use of the butler's services, and most have been very efficient and professional.  Our best butler serviced us in another line (Crystal pre-covid), but Regent's butler have been more than acceptable and we have duly appreciated their worth in our reviews.  Thank you, Regent!

  4. BROKE MY RIGHT HAND, EASIER TO WRITE IN CAPS, SORRY.  I FEEL FOR YOU; BUS TRANSFERS HAVE BEEN LESS HAN ACCEPTABLE.  WORST MEMORY WAS RECENT 12/14-21 GRANDEUR CRUISE TRANSPORT FROM  MIAMI INTERCONTINENTAL TO SHIP.  WE WERE ASSIGNED BUS NO. 1 AT 11AM AND ALL OTHERS SHOWED UP AND PUSHED THEIR WAY THROUGH , WHILE NOBODY CHECKED THEIR ASSIGNMENTS.  MANY IN MY GROUP WERE TRAMPLED.  BETTER TAKE A TAXI!!!

    Isn’t every cruise ship?
The difference we like about Regent is their flexibility and willingness to do something special when requested.

We do not find that to be an issue. If we have failed to note the number, then invariably the server will just ask where you are sitting and say “no worries, I will find you”

On Mariner at present and at the Pool Grill servers will take your order at the table - no need to go to the serving station

Agree!  In Grandeur lunch at the Grill was seamless.  Once seated a bar server would take our drinks order; then sweet Assapara would take our food order, and another crew member would deliver.  No problem ordering and receiving the food in La Veranda...and I was always located when I forgot the table number.

  6. I recently cruised the Grandeur Dec 14-21 Mayan Caribbean mostly sold out cruise.  DH and I are early bird diners, and when approaching Compass Rose for its 6:30pm opening, we were either second or third in line.  You will be aware that you need reservations for the specialty restaurants.

bitob......couple questions for you. Have you noticed during these past few cruises you have been on staff "finding their pace" a bit more each day?

Hello from Dinosaur Land!  I also was in the 7 day cruise and will comment that some servers are new, especially found at breakfast in La Veranda, and some have trouble with English, but they are all very kind and wanting to please.  We received outstanding service from our butler Vishnu, Claudia (Peru), Rodzica (Serbia) and Assapara (Thailand).  I am sure that by the time you sail they will all be up to par.

We're in 942 next year...hoping it's one of the rooms with little to no neighbor noise. We chose this cabin to be far away from any common areas of the ship.  I'm the lightest sleeper on the planet so, fingers crossed!

If it is of use, we were in 949 in this trip.  We did not have any noise issue.

Nonsense. They come in to clean balcony Takes 10 minutes. Then it’s yours to use

That was my experience.  Minor glitches corrected immediately.  Our disappointment has been the weather…wish I could speak to Nature’s boss to correct it.  Room for improvement in my opinion: live music during daytime in lounges/pool grill, and a few crew members need language training.  I personally liked the performers but not so much the productions.  Overall a very enjoyable cruise.

Yesterday was quite a rock and roll day.  Although the ship’s movements didn’t affect me, they certainly affected my DH; he was unable to enjoy the lovely filet at the wonderful Prime 7 restaurant.  Last night’s show highlighted a few music icons.  The dancers were very good but I found the production repetitive and not as engaging as I had expected.  The audience reaction was a bit lukewarm, I thought.  Tonight we will probably do the lounges.

Today I want to eat my words…DH insisted on the production show and I thought it was so very good!!

  12. Also on board in our only second Regent cruise.  Chaos at the Intercontinental Hotel at our transit time of 11am.  The transport contractors did not organize the crowd and we saw and experienced pushing.  I would recommend Regent monitor its contractors, or guests avail themselves of private transportation.  We are very happy with our PH suite and our butler Vishnu.  The food has been delicious!!  Service has been very good, just as expected.  The weather continues awful but we are hoping for a positive change.  We are pool people!

  13. Years ago we had friends meet us for lunch.  You needed to request paperwork to ensure ID of guests.  Guests needed to bring passports (this was in Europe) to verify identity.  There was a charge for lunch.   Fun memory:  Inadvertently, we sat for drinks at the space that would be used for trivia at the time...a rude participant screamed we were taking his team's place.  We immediately began to exit, when we heard other participants loudly inviting us to stay and play with them.   A lot more kind people than not.
