  1. This is the second time in  a few days you have asked this question.

The facts on cost and current benefits are set out quite clearly.  Only you can decide if you think it works for you as an investment and if any risks are worthwhile.

  2. We thoroughly enjoyed IGtours.

    Booked online

Everything ran smoothly each of the three days (including the tender port).

Our tour groups were 15(ish), which started with a swift trip around town to pick up independent travellers from hotels: 6 and 5.  The 2nd & 3rd days  were just people from the ship

Fantastic, personal, service and no waiting round for  50 people to return to a large coach

  3. ... making CPS less simple and convenient than other, invariably cheaper, Southampton parking companies.  What sort of a business plan is that?

Taxi? Lift? P4C etc? - drive direct to lane 1 and the porters will take the luggage.

CPS? - Not you!  Take your car, plus passengers plus luggage to *somewhere*, unload, CPS will take your car and the driver, passengers and luggage must get themselves back to the ‘hole in the wall’.

Let’s hope it’s not too rainy, cold, icy etc

  4. I’d like to hear something official about this change, or confirmation from other passengers/other embarkations.  Not doubting the OP at all, first hand info from a reliable source, but wondering (hoping) that there are wires crossed somewhere.  Surely this is a retrograde step - those of us who have used CPS love that “holiday starts right this minute” feeling, as we drive into the unloading lane.

I can only only see this as a custom-loser for CPS - it is their Unique Selling Point over other parking companies and is that which they would use to justify their higher prices

One thing I’d like the OP to clarify is exactly where passengers were asked to leave their cars and how far they were expected to take luggage?

  5. As I see it, there’s not a huge reward for the equivalent of 2 x 14 night cruises each year for 3 years, or in perpetuity if you want to stay in the Baltic tier for ever.

    This, from the website

The Baltic tier offers all of the benefits of our lower tiers, plus a complimentary half bottle of Champagne (per cabin) on your first formal night, a Senior Officer hosted fine dining event and 50% discount on machine washable laundry (just leave your laundry bag in your cabin for your steward to collect)”

or or am I missing something?

Dinner, half bottle of bubbly and half-price laundry are fine but I wouldn’t, eg, book a short cruise to make up my numbers and retain Baltic status.

  6. Well, i guess so, as we definitely docked.  Walked past all the Croatian coastal cruisers (mmm, looked good) and ferries between Split and Italian ports.  10-15 minutes pleasant walk till you take a right turn into the old city.

It’s as nice a port as can be for DIY

Incidentally, I think I fibbed earlier - not a free walking tour but a paid one via TripAdvisor.  Maybe £15 each for two hours and as much history, sights and wonderful a cappella choir as you would wish

  7. I’ll put in another recommendation for the Aeropress.  Great coffee

If you take one make sure you take something to allow you to dispose of the grounds, which pack down to a solid-ish disc.  Not the sort of thing to flush and not nice to fling, unwrapped, into the waste bin, where it would disintegrate messily
