Another person from my HS graduating class passed away.Three in the past 6 weeks, all in their sleep. The President of the school Alumni Association sent out e-mails to every member who graduated in the same year as the guy who died. Our graduating class had several hundred students.I realize that not everyone joins an Alumni Association but the e-mail was only sent to 23 people.

Sorry to hear this.  My graduating class has a FB group and I'm starting to get a few of those notices as well.  I just try to be thankful for every day.   Sending positive thoughts your way.

Good to hear from you.  😍  Sounds like a fun filled week.

I keep hearing about sous vide - someday I have to try it.

Last year I went to order seeds from MiGardener early January and they were out of a lot that I wanted so we plant some left over seeds and I picked up a bunch of Burpee seeds at Lowes.    Our garden did not thrive this past year either because of old seeds and/or the weather where we had lots of rain and lots of humidity this past summer.

So this year I ordered my seeds from MiGardener as soon as I got the emal that 2024 seeds were available.    They arrived this past week.   I am trying something new to us - Poona Kherra Cucumber, Purple Cayenne Peppers and Lemon Drop Aji Peppers.

I plan on putting the seed packets in Eric's stocking as he is in charge of starting the seeds and I manage the plants once they are outside.    I hope this coming garden season is better.

I'll have to check out MiGardener.  I'm not familiar with them.  Doug is the gardener in our house.  I'm not allowed to touch anything green. 😄    We have a couple of Aero Gardens that he starts the seeds in before it warms up enough to transfer them outside.  It seems to work out pretty well.

Edit - Just checked their website.  Looks like they have a store about an hour from our home.

Well when it rains it pours. Seems like there is always something going on with Linda and I’s physical ailments.

So Linda just got her MRI back on her shoulder that’s been hurting ever since after her hand surgery. She has a torn rotator cuff and a torn labrum tear. Most likely from using her non dominant arm after the surgery and doing some heavy lifting. If she has surgery right after Christmas it might take a good 6 months to rehab and would mean we might  have to cancel our April 1st Celebrity Beyond sailing.

Then my surgical knee is doing well but I now gave numbness and a burning sensation in my non surgical leg in the thigh area. At first I thought it might be due to the spinal block they did but now it’s been 3 weeks and I’m still having issues with it.

To make matters worse my groin pain is not any better and I see my doctor on Monday but now I suspect that I have a inguinal hernia. Which would be another surgery to correct that. Hopefully we can schedule everything without minimal interruption to our cruising but I’m now worried we might have to cancel Beyond.

I’m so sorry to read this.  It’s been 2 years since my rotator cuff surgery.  It is definitely not a surgery for the faint of heart.   Please tell her to make sure she does her physical therapy.   Sending prayers to you both.

Ive just bought an air  fryer

I have no idea how to use it  I'm so out of my comfort zone with it.

Anyone use it for stew/casserole/pies with mash? Or is it just for pices of meat like Chops, steak, chicken etc

Love my Air Fryer.  Use it almost every day.  There is definitely a learning curve.  I don’t think I’ve ever used it for the foods you’re suggesting.   My favorite things that I make in it is salmon, pork chops, chicken.   It does also work well for fries and foods you want crispy.

    Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

Bella 3.0 itineraries were posted in the other place that not everyone follows.
1/24/26 Oasis 8 night Southern Caribbean from FLL.
2/1/26 Oasis 6 night Western Caribbean from FLL.

Two options to join the fun or you could book as a B2B.  The prices seem good especially considering they’re refundable deposits.  We’ll probably book the 8 nighter.

I hope everyone has a great day and safe travels to those not staying home.

We ended up booking both 3.0 and 3.5 since I was able to get the same room for both legs.  I figured I can always cancel the 6 nighter if I decide later since it's refundable.

@dani negreanu  To you and your family sending prayers for peace.

To all, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and Go Lions!

It's got to be tough for the kids when their birthdays are in December.  One of my nieces were born on Christmas Day.  They celebrated Christmas during the day, then in the evening her Birthday was celebrated.

To make matters even crazier, my younger sons birthday is January 5.  I didn’t plan very well. 🤷🏻‍♀️😁

We only do one fresh cut tree too.  We used to wait until after my son's birthday but now we put it up when it fits into our schedule to do it.

We only do one tree as well.  My son’s birthday is the 7th, so I always wanted to make sure his birthday was separate from Christmas.  I always waited until after his birthday to put the tree up.

All this talk of losing too much weight reminds me of a reality TV show from several years ago where a family lived for some period of time (90 days maybe?) as if it were the 1800s.  They lived in a cabin with no electricity or running water.  They had to do everything by hand including growing and preparing food.  Near the end, the husband had lost so much weight that the wife feared something was medically wrong and called in a Doctor. The doctor confirmed that he was perfectly healthy and was actually at a good weight for him.  Everyone was just so used to seeing him about 50 pounds heavier that he looked ill at his proper weight.

I don't look (too) overweight but I could/should lose 30+ pounds.  I'm 6' 0" tall and weigh 215.  I should be down around 180.  I'm guessing that's a similar story for the majority of people in the US.  I'm not suggesting that anyone mentioned here wasn't actually too skinny...just that we have a serious overweight/obesity problem in the US.  Our medical friends here can probably create a long list of health issues that this causes.

I remember that show.  I believe it was on PBS if I recall.  I think there was talk of another season, just not sure if they eve did.

Happy Thanksgiving to all on Dani’s wonderful thread!  I wish you all a great day with family and friends.  I am not hosting this year.  We will be spending the day at the home of my best friend and college roommate whose son is my son’s best buddy, almost like brothers.  So, I started my holiday decorating a week ago (earlier than normal) and just finished.

WOW Jennifer!  Your trees are absolutely beautiful.  I’m not cooking either other than 1 side dish.  We are headed up to Davison tomorrow.  I think we pass by your neck of the woods.   Hope you all have a wonderful holiday.

We have been busy with Thanksgiving prep, moving furniture around in the family room to turn it into our banquet hall for the day.

This is one thing I never understood... the regular pool is HUGE, but it only has ONE bar and it's always PACKED, often five people deep at every single bar stool.

With all the emphasis on selling drinks to people, why don't they have more bars at the Oasis Lagoon?  There are never enough roving waiters, or else the line wouldn't always have 50-100 people waiting for a drink at the swim-up bar.

My take is basically they've already sold the drinks (most have probably bought the drink package).   With less bartenders and bars, they are cutting costs since you might only be able to get one drink per hour.  With more bartenders and bars, you might be able to get maybe 3 drinks an hour, thereby saving Royal by not serving every 2 out of 3 drinks.  Does that make sense?  Just a thought.

I had to look up that drug, after reading about it here.   Yikes, almost 20k a year for it when I put it in the Medicare search for a drug plan.

It's so sad that it's extremely expensive.  I've had very good luck with it and I feel it's almost a miracle drug.  Hopefully, it will be covered soon.   Luckily my insurance covers it.  I pay $25 a month.  However, when Doug retires and I have to switch to Medicare, I'll probably have to stop taking it. 😞
