  1. Yes i will ask about it. So far wifi has been good. A few challenges with the app itself yesterday but it seems to be better today.
  2. I am back as promised to report that we were able to board in Whittier around 1pm yesterday (Sat) with results from Rapid NAAT tests (PCR test) taken at 9:30am ET on Wed. We met the within 3 day req but we were well outside of 72 hrs. The girl checking us in appeared to be in training with a supervisor by her side. She looked at our test results and the date then turned to supervisor and said '3 days' ( like a question). The supervisor nodded and we were on our way. All that worry for nothing. Now hoping disembarkation testing for Vancouver and flying to the US goes this well!
  3. Followed your posts as I am boarding for Alaska today, sounds like you had a great trip! For others sailing - Re: Covid testing mentioned onboard, be aware that going forward after the 14th Princess states NO Covid testing on board for those who need it to fly/return home. You are on your own!
  4. Thanks Martincath. I wish Victoria was an option but we are on Majestic sailing tomorrow and our last day is a sea day. I have 6 eMed tests for 4 of us and we should be good if we have stable wifi. If not thats where the backup plan comes in. I also have regular tests and we will at least be using those to check while on the ship even without wifi. I think we will do walk off and skytrain as you and others have suggested. And book at CVM at the airport as backup, cancel if not needed and hope they will be forgiving if we are late. I thought a 1:30pm flight should be enough time when I booked it....never expected this! I need a vacation from the stress of planning this vacation!
  5. Change of question...no appts available at CVM at the pier on the morning of May 21. How quickly should we be able to self-disembark and taxi to YVR for an appt? Thanks.
  6. Can anyone who has disembarked in Vancouver in the past advise of roughly what time we should be able to self-disembark? Sailing this week and need to make Covid test appts at the pier as early as possible to make a 1pm flight. Is 810 too early? Thanks!
  7. I can tell you that we are traveling with another couple and are linked in the app. All have dining credits and when I made the reservation it recognized all 4 credits and did not charge me.
  8. Erber we decided to test before we fly Wednesday which is within 3 days but but more than 72 hours before boarding. I will report back this weekend. Supposedly my PVP checked with her manager and said its a US embarkation and 3 day rule. I guess if they dont like it they will test us at the dock. I am getting tired of second guessing vague and ever changing rules.
  9. Hmmm I see what you mean. I interpreted it as Canada being an exception to all of the other policies but I would be happy to be wrong. I will find out next week!
  10. Go into dining and make a specialty dining reservation. when you get to the screen where it would charge your credit card you will either see credit or not. I did not....until yesterday...
  11. Yeah my interpretation is the same. If we can get official eMed tests to work on wifi the day before disembarkation thats best case. If not we will be doing our home tests and reporting if positive so there is a record and Princess must step in to help with quarantine. We disembark on the 21st and I promise to come back with a report on how it goes. Hopefully from the US on the 22nd...lol
  12. We have the same plan 🙂. But I have recently noticed they removed references to quarantine accomodations. So time will tell how much of it becomes the passengers problem!
  13. Nobody will know until they announce it. But there seems to be a trend towards moving away from any sort of guarantees related to covid. My money is on that being the end of it.
  14. On Regal, my daughter liked it so much she had it 2 nights for supper (on a 5 night cruise!). On Lido deck they told her she had to order GF pizza a day ahead of time.
  15. I have no explanation for this, but suddenly this week our specialty dining credits from the Princess promo showed up in the Medallion app and I was able to book reservations for 4 of us without having to pay. Have been checking for a couple months. Might be worth checking if you are still waiting for the credts to appear. We sail Saturday.
  16. We are all talking about how and when to test but is anyone but me worried about what happens if you test positive (off the ship)? How does one even find hotel options for quarantine?
  17. I agree. If I walk to the testing site next door and I am positive it is a certainty that I was positive on the ship. But...there is no proof. Absolutely we are bringing self tests and we will use proctored eMed tests if the wifi holds up. Still, would love a list of hotels if anyone has this info.
  18. Thanks, I think this is the key phrase "If you test positive while on your cruise, and the cruise ends in Canada, you will need to complete your isolation in Canada as organized and paid for by the operator." If Princess is no longer testing you on board they wont have any responsibility if you test positive right after getting off the ship.
  19. I am cruising Alaska on Princess next week but thought I would see if I could pick up any new info on this board related the new policy to not provide testing at disembarkation . Seems you all have the same concerns over no disembarkation testing as we do. But I rarely see discussion on what to do if we test positive and cant fly home. Anyone experienced that yet or have come up with a plan for Vancouver?
  20. Could I ask what hotel your husband ended up at and if he felt it was ok? I am looking for a couple options, just in case. Glad to hear he is better and you avoided being positive.
  21. Is there list of Vancouver hotels somewhere who are willing to take a covid positive person who needs to quarantine? Will be disembarking in Vancouver in a few weeks and under their newly revised policy Princess seems to be leaving passengers who test positive at disembarkation to figure it out on their own. I would rather have a plan and not need it than be standing there with a positive test and no idea where to go! Thanks.
  22. My worry as well. But we have Princess saying no worries. just use Meddallion Net to test onboard using your hundred+ dollars worth of tests, which will be invalidated if the connection goes down mid-test🤷‍♀️
  23. Then all we have to worry about is what to do if we DO test positive. I am waiting for someone to post about the experience of being quarantined in Vancouver! And hoping that person is not me in a couple weeks...lol
