Although RCL has not issued specific guidance to their travelers, Costa just has, and I have a feeling all will follow suit.

Costa appears to be the first cruise line that has set forth their operational structure when cruising resumes.
Can you imagine the following?

Costa just posted how they will be handling things once they start cruising. Can you imagine?

Just got the full refund on our credit card for our taxes, fees etc. for our April 16, 2020 cruise on Splendor!
Just checked my credit card, nothing yet but thanks for the info. Will keep an eye out for it. BTW I am from Baltimore also.

Thanks everyone. Helpful as usual. Our cruise was to leave NYC on April 16 but have not received any refund/credit to our credit card.

My Splendor cruise was cancelled and I took the FCC offer. For some reason I thought they said something about port charges and something else would be refunded. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thanks in advance for your guidance.

It was mailed out by many different people in the company but, IMO, I can't imagine something like this was released without both of those departments signing off on it.
There is world of difference within the legal community as to who releases this information.

I thought this was interesting from today's cruise industry news........
In addition, another challenge is provisions in Norwegian's credit card processing and other commercial agreements.
"We have agreements with a number of credit card companies to process the sale of tickets and other services. Under these agreements, the credit card companies could, under certain circumstances and upon written notice, require us to maintain a reserve, which reserve could be funded by the credit card companies withholding or offsetting our credit card receivables, or our posting of cash or other collateral," Norwegian said, in a Tuesday SEC filing.
"As a result of the impacts of COVID-19, we have seen an increase in demand from consumers for refunds on their tickets, and we anticipate this will continue to be the case for the near future. Requests for refunds may reduce our liquidity and risk triggering liquidity covenants in these processing agreements and, in doing so, could force us to post cash or other collateral (including the potential to post certain of our vessels as collateral) as a reserve with the credit card processing companies in accordance with the terms of our agreements with them. Because of COVID-19, we have been in conversation with our credit card processors about posting collateral, and if we were required to post collateral or otherwise maintain a reserve, our financial position and liquidity could be materially impacted."

Today the Company has launched a series of capital markets transactions, led by Goldman Sachs, which are expected to raise approximately $2 billion. These transactions are expected to consist of 1) $350 million public offering of common equity, 2) $650 million exchangeable senior notes offering, 3) $600 million senior secured notes offering and 4) $400 million private placement from global consumer-focused private equity firm L Catterton.
Contingent on completion of the transactions, the Company expects to have approximately $3 billion of liquidity. This strengthens the Company’s financial position and ensures it is well positioned to withstand well over 12 months of voyage suspensions in a potential downside scenario. While this is not the Company’s base case expectation, the Company has taken a proactive approach to protect its future given the significant uncertainty and unknown duration of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Just got this in my email.
I'll bet this came out from marketing not their general counsel or financial people.

Well one thing you must say it is unique, a bit bizarre, but unique.

Where is all this additional crew coming from? They barely have enough crew now. I think there are many more hurdles to jump other than those that Princess articulated.

When Renaissance Cruises ceased operations through bankruptcy, if I remember correctly I received my refund from my credit card (American Express). I had travel insurance, but it was quite easy with AE so I did not file for it.

The medical clearance by a doctor is from the U.S. government. This will be announced. Regent is only being proactive.
Agree that this is a horrible time to get your doctor to sign anything. Perhaps there is a way of emailing the form to the office and have them email it back with the doctors signature.
In terms of going out of business, NCLH, Carnival and Royal Caribbean are huge companies and can not fairly be compared to Renaissance. The reasons for Renaissance's demise goes much further than "9/11". That was just the straw that broke the camel's back (so to speak).
Take a look at their stock and debt.

Looks like 11 and change now

Back in 2001 (9/11) we were having the same conversations about Renaissance Cruises and they were gone a week later.

I see Viking is giving 125% FCC good for 2 years. If not used, get full refund. Now that is how you respond as a company.
Princess who has halted operations for 60 days just offered this:

I cannot remember, tried searching and could not find answer. On port days is the main dining room open for lunch? Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays.

I followed the guidance from our CC colleagues (which is most appreciated) and requested an air deviation for my flight from Venice to Fort Lauderdale. Regent (through our TA) sent a totally different flight. I can live with the flight they sent, but have a few quick questions:
1. The flight is scheduled to leave Venice at 11:45 AM. Do you think there is enough time?
2. Will Regent provide transportation to the airport?
Thanking you in advance for any help.

I would like to thank everyone for their assistance. Somehow towards the end I got a bit confused, but hopefully I will not end up in Dubai or Fort Meyers lol

We have been on other Regent cruises, but they have been out of Miami. We are booked on a NYC to Venice cruise next April/May. We would like to fly from FLL to NY (as this cruise departs NY) then fly home to FLL from Venice. I am a neophyte when it comes to figuring out the whole airline thing. Would like to go to NY a few days early and stay a few days in Venice post cruise. Additionally, would like to have the option to have some control over the flight schedule. Does anyone know which airlines Regent uses for this itinerary? Also any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanking everyone in advance.

Another interesting point, I had to call Regent Cruises with some questions, and they had no problem dealing directly with me even though I booked with a TA.This is your real problem.Did the TA explain why you weren't informed of the non-refundable aspect of the booking? Actually I went back and reviewed their invoice etc. and it was not stated their. The TA has agreed to reimburse me.
As for being Carnivalized...you do realize that no cruise line, Carnival based or otherwise, will deal directly with a guest if the booking was made thru a TA, don't you??

Don’t feel bad. I had a $ 1,700 deposit on a Hawaii cruise. I was not informed (by travel agent) that it was a non-refundable fare. Due to a personal issue, I needed to change the date of the cruise. Holland America has informed the travel agent that if I change the date I would loose the deposit. I wrote an email to Holland America and they answered that “due to contractural obligations” they can only communicate with my travel agent. I went round and round with the travel agent. Bottom line, Holland America has now officially been Carnivalized.

I wonder what they will do to the PH bathrooms. The shower/tub is a bit challenging. I wonder if they would remove the tubs and have one big glass enclosed shower. Personally, I would consider that an improvement.

Found it. Thanks.

Interesting you bring this up, I was listening to an infectious disease doc who said the same thing. The only concerning part was that he stated we do not have a vaccine of norovirus or HIV, and look at how long those have been around.
