The trolley will not drop you anywhere near a beach.   We had the perfect beach day at Reflexions beach bar.  I made reservations by email before we went for 2 tent beds,  I think they were $25 each.    We got off the ship and walked slowly, made a few stops and sat down a few times as my sisters ankle was bothering her.   This should have been a little under 1/2 hour walk, but took us longer.    It had just started to rain as we got there,  but then cleared up and we had a wonderful day!!!   Not a lot of people around,  nice clean bathrooms and terrific service.   They started us each a tab and brought drinks and menus/food right to our beds.  My sister and her BF had burgers that were delicious.   You can see the ship in the first picture.

I definitely recommend spending the day here.    When we were ready they called a cab for us to go back to the ship.

    Where is reflections beach bar?

No.  Sorry!  It is a travel industry term and is short for "Familiarisation" - TAs are always being offered what are called "Fam trips" -- by hotels, tourist boards, cruise lines etc - so they can experience the "product" first hand.

Thanks.  Got it.    We had several TA's on our last Regent cruise.  They had lunch and were walking in the hallways looking at cabins.

We are in a Grand Suite and did not receive any offer - wouldn't have taken it in any case because we have the air booked and that can't be changed.

If there are a lot of TAs on board on the day we sail I suppose another restaurant will be open.  Can't jam everyone into la Veranda and the Pool Grill!  But since there is a "fam" cruise that disembarks the same day we board I rather think the TAs will be on that...it sails San Diego/San Diego March 12-14.

"fam" cruise?   Is that a family cruise?

Is it fair to assume the refundable deposit on your existing booking became nonrefundable (or at least $100 pp of it) once you got the fare reduced to the nonrefundable rate?

Normally, yes.   However, the sale they showed was substantial and when I called they had told me I could not have the new price because it was non-refundable.  That is like saying I had no choice whether to change to the non-refundable rate.   I got the reduction when I called back and in addition they did not switch me to the non-refundable rate!   So in conclusion it's not clear whether they actually understand it any better than we do.

I am a lifelong Princess cruiser, but our son cruises with Celebrity exclusively except when cruising with us.  He talked to me the other day about a 'good deal' cruise that he was going to take on Celebrity, and wanted to know if we wanted to join them.  As it turned out we decided not to go.  But, when looking online at the Celebrity website a different cruise interested me,  I went on their website  this morning and brought up the cruise, selected a 'Aqua Class Cabin', for 2 people, made the cabin selection, and a screen popped up saying I could choose 3 of their 4 perks, which I did, then it came up with the 'Final Price Screen' showing the price with the 3 perks with a button on the bottom to push that said LOCK IT IN.  Before hitting the button, I called Celebrity to book it (1-888-751-7804).  Their representative told me his computer wasn't showing him the same pricing, so he went in via the web and came up with the same DEAL that my screen was showing.  He put me on hold to talk to their RESOLUTION department, and came back to the line about 30 minutes later and told me they would NOT give me the deal that was online, instead they offered my 2 specialty dining dinners.  To say the least, I was totally disappointed in the way they handled this situation, and I have learned not to trust Celebrity with any future booking considerations.  If they won't honor their online advertising offerings, then why would I ever trust them cruising.

Personally, I would not put up with the answer you received.   I just had a similar situation where the agent told me I could not get a reduction in price (shown on their website) because it was a non-refundable deposit and we had a refundable deposit.   What?  I called back and got someone else who gladly gave us the reduction!

So you may (as someone else just suggested) call and see if you get someone else on the phone or call their customer service and speak with them.

    Good luck.

Thank you so much for this video!  We will be in a concierge suite in April one deck down in the same area so this was wonderful to see.   It looks fantastic!  Thanks also for all your other pictures.

    You did a great job!

For a SS guest, what kind of preferences were you asked about?

We also received an e-mail from Celebrity.  They asked our preference for champagne or wine, pillow preference and if we needed additional hangers.  That's all I can remember them asking us.

is this because they port cannot print cards or because celebrity chooses this way? for example if i booked royal out of NJ would i get cards at the dock?

one fantastic reason i can think of not to get cards on the dock is you dont gotta stop and scan them on the way in the ship! that has to cut down boarding time .

so how do they know you got on the ship if you dont have a card?

I believe they are using facial recognition when you first get on the ship after check in..  After you'd use the card at the various ports to scan when getting on.

I envision an "Emperor's New Clothes" scenario during these meetings. Hoppen was so hyped up as the Be-All-End-All Master Designer who's going to usher Celebrity into the future of "Modern Luxury." I imagine there were lots of ooohs and aaahs as her designs were revealed, and no one felt comfortable stating things like, "Um, people like to lounge on their balconies, that's why they usually have lounge furniture," or, "Being unable to tuck that chair under the desk will create an obstacle," or, "Those giant dining room chairs may look cool, but they are going to be a hassle to tuck in," or "Maybe a vase that doesn't hold water and fake coral, and whatever the heck that is aren't the best use of money or space."

I could very well be wrong. I'd like to be. I'd like to think that people high enough in an organization to be involved in such decisions would be more empowered. It's just that this thought has popped up in my mind while reading threads several times. This is just the first time I've said it "out loud."

That chair under the desk sure was an obstacle.  I had to pull it out to put makeup on close enough to the mirror (at least there was a mirror there).  Also the fact that they took out bars and shower lines from the bathtub in the sky suites on M class is an obstacle.   I asked for a shower line and a bar to hold onto to get out of the tub and they did put those in.  I am interested in finding out if they have now put them in all the suites with bathtubs.  Mostly the sky suites because the royal suite never had shower lines if I remember correctly.

That is a rude remark.  Just say no thank you.  The photographer is just doing his/her job.  Ad sometimes the pictures are really very good- a nice memory if you want to purchase- If however, you are  married and sailing with somebody else's significant other- a bad idea to take a picture! lol.

That is so funny!  On my first cruise I was with three other women and we were seated with an older couple who were very sweet.   We all took pictures of each other and the man said if we gave him our address he would send the pictures he took with his camera to us.  We said sure and we would do the same for them.  We got a very emphatic "no" from them and found out later the man was on  "business" and the woman with him was not his wife!

My Bad. Wife is recovering and wanting to do things on her own. You know how that is. Just trying to make life as good as possible for her and stay within her desires. The disappointments that we had were caused by simple communication short falls that Celebrity needs to be aware of.

Agree with the wait for wine at dinner.  We don't like waiting that long for a nice glass of wine either.

May I ask how long ago your wife had knee surgery?   My husband is having total knee replacement a couple of months before our next cruise and we're hoping he can get around alright on the cruise.

    Thanks.

I just spoke with him and he said on sea days he doesn’t start until 11.  I asked him to come first thing from now on.  He tries hard but seems a little frazzled ... it hasn’t impacted our wonderful cruise so going to go with the flow.

Never heard of cabin attendants starting at 11.  They normally start at 8:00 am.  I don't know what ship you are on but this has never happened to us and we have over 50 cruises with Celebrity.  If I were you I'd ask him why he doesn't start at 8:00 which is normal.  Unless, of course, things have changed that much and service went downhill!

Hasn’t been my experience, try calling the main number and just speak with someone else. I have always had price drops and better deals honored before final payment. I have re-fared several times just this week with no issues. Good luck 🤗

My experience in the past has been good also.  However, something has changed.   Rebook with a non-refundable deposit, cruise does not quality, applying veteran discount comes before the price drop so if you had a previous discount it gets lowered and then the veteran discount results in the same price?   It's crazy.   I hear others in here saying their cruise didn't qualify either.   Also I was told my cruise did not qualify for the non-refundable deposit after they told me it did but the price would be the same and I would lose my current OBC.

I got frustrated and got off the phone.  They said a lot of folks complaining about similar issues.

Yes, there is a retractable cord that stretches across the bathtub. I've attached a photo that is a "screenshot" of the cabin bathroom. On Regent's website you can see this in the Virtual Tour of the cabin.  You can see it in the upper left hand corner to the left of the shower head (near the ceiling).  This is what the bathroom looked like in our F2 cabin, Superior Suite category.

Thanks for your quick reply.  This is good to know ahead of time.  We are booked on the Splendor next year and hoping since they are sister ships (I think) the bathroom would be similar.

I wasn’t actually referring to doing away with the Connoisseur Club, it’s already been removed from the Navigator.  They still have them on the remaining ships.  I was saying I’d gladly give up the casino to have the Connoisseur Club...I get more enjoyment from cigars and cognac than I do from the casino games.  But that’s just me, I guess...

Thanks.   I had heard they did away with the one on Navigator.  Good to see they still have them on other ships for those who like to relax and have a smoke.

Ten Regent cruises and I haven’t played a single casino game.  Of course, I go to Vegas and don’t gamble so I’m probably an exception.

I’d be happy if they did away with the casino and brought the Connoisseur Club back.

Are you referring to the Navigator or the Mariner as far as doing away with the Connoisseur Club?

They will make up your bed with an extra padded comforter...just ask. No more of the foam egg crates as there were sanitary conditions with those old type.

We just returned from 13 nights on Adventure and our bed was extremely cozy & comfortable !!!!

Funny seeing this thread about the egg crates. I just answered a question from someone currently on Liberty (above this thread) about the suite concierges.  They asked about what cabin issues we had and one of them  was the stained egg crate on the bed.    Believe me if you ever saw that you would never want one.

HI Marycruz, just wondering what issues you had in your suite. We are currently on-board Liberty of the Seas in a grand suite. All is well, except the bathroom has an unpleasant aroma... It's not so terrible that you can't live with it, but you are reminded of it every time you step in there.

Hi.  We were in an owners suite on that cruise.  The shower water temperature would not stay on where you turned the faucet.  I actually got scalded with hot water while showering.  I would turn the faucet knob to cold and it would not stay there.  I couldn't get it to stay just warm.  It would keep switching to really hot.  Hard to take a shower that way.  We also had some weird noise by the balcony door and somehow they fixed that.  I think it had something to do with the fan that was next to the door.   Then we found out there was an egg crate on top of the matress which we didn't need so when we took it off it had a large stain on the reverse side so we left it at the foot of the bed on the floor and the cabin attendant took it out but I'm sure he saw that.  It looked like dried blood on that side.  I don't want to gross anyone out but we sure were upon seeing that.  I didn't tell the concierge about that because I'm sure the chief housekeeper saw it since she came to our cabin later to ask if everything was alright.

Anyway, those were the issues we had.  We were in a grant suite on our next cruise on Liberty and everything was great.   It was just hard to believe that someone just turned that egg topper over after seeing that it was  stained like that.

Hope you enjoy your suite but I would definitely report the smell.  They might be able to do something.  Could be something in the drain that they could just clean out.

Yes freedom class had concierge lounge on the inside deck 8 with no windows.  Very small and not inviting in my opinion.

I will ask about D+ being allowed into the suite breakfast.  As a D+ we would not expect access as I have never had it on any ship we have sailed so far.  Luckily we will able to use it for the next 15 days weather they allow D+ in or not.  Oasis and Quantum class has a nice CK where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served.

Thanks.  That would be nice of you.  When we were on Liberty we had one of the best concierges we've ever had.  His name was Carlos.  He had found out we had issues in our suite and wondered why we didn't come to him.  We just told the stateroom attendant about it.   Anyway, Carlos found out they couldn't correct the issue and got us a refund and future cruise credit!  Also escorted us off the ship as soon as we were ready on both cruises we sailed with him.  How's that for service?  Of course he received a generous tip from us.
