  1. Look at where it says

    Exclusive offers

    • The Most Exclusive All-Inclusive

If you click on it it will say

All-Inclusive Packages on 2016 Mediterranean, Asia and Africa Voyages Include: Shore Excursions, WiFi, Airfare and Transfers, Pre-Cruise Hotel (or Safari)

  2. Interestingly, Seabourn has employed exactly the opposite pricing strategy. Originally their fares for a nearly identical Med Voyage in August we much more expensive than SilverSea's, but they have now dropped them by thousands of dollars per person.

The base rate for the Seabourn voyage is now only $2,800 compared to the SilverSea base rate of $5,850. Again, this for a nearly identical itinerary. That's a crazy price difference between two similar products, even factoring in free wifi and shore excursions.

I found it how much is your AIRFARE* & TRANSFERS Free-Shore-Excursions and INCLUDED HOTEL

On Seabourn they do not include that

You can get it removed and should be around 400.00 per day

  3. Actually the paper luggage tags have a removable backing. Remove the last backing section on opposite ends of the tag and they'll stick together. No stapler required though certainly that would work too.

    Better safe than sorry,

  4. We received our paper silver box today had Travel Journal . It had our what they called a ticket in it and it says to bring to bring it to dock. Pre printed paper luggage tags you staple on your luggage. Two plastic tags with our name on them and two metal cable to attach to luggage

There is nothing to print off the site. We have our old tags they used to send.

I our case that is fine for us, Long as the service. food, and ship amenities stay the same. And now free internet.

Now just waiting for the upgrade like last time We hope

  5. I don't know how you know there will be 3 formal nights on cruise a year from now. We are going on an 11 night Caribbean cruise on Spirit this month and just recently received our Voyage Planner which states there will be 2 formal nights, 6 informal, and 3 casual.

We are on Spirit end of month Caribbean 11 day and have the same 2 formal nights, 6 informal, and 3 casual

  6. Hi

Once you go on Silver Sea or any other luxury all inclusive cruise line you will have a hard time going back to main stream . First time we did Silver Sea and then went back on a Celebrity we where shocked at the difference. We sailed Celebrity 4 months before Silver Seas. Even when we where on Oceania was a big difference to Silver Seas or Seabourn which we have been on also.

You will have a great time :)

  7. I suspect is has more to do with the "all Exclusive Inclusive" meaning the new fare reflects included airfare and in some instances a pre-cruise hotel stay. Guests/agents have the option of booking the segment either way. I am not a travel agent but perhaps someone else confirm my thoughts.

Yes you are right . They are going after Regent as they offer Shore Excursions, WiFi, Airfare and Transfers, Pre-Cruise Hotel

Or if you prefer to make your own plans, book just the cruise and you’ll still enjoy free shore excursions. Less money

  8. We used our AMEX credit card for our car rental two years ago and plan to do so again in two weeks! Having read about the prices there, we did not do any shopping at all

Prices are 1 Euro equals 1.10 US Dollar .10 is cheap But prices are a bit higher there as everything is imported in.

Try England 1 British Pound equals 1.42 US Dollar Last time we where there 1.55

  9. Hi Wes

We have a question for you. Are they offering an excursion to Iguazu Falls.

We are looking at next year BUENOS AIRES to BRIDGETOWN Which we would see Carnival . They do not have anything to the falls but maybe they offered it on ship ?

We are on Spirit March 31 Due to where my wife works no more than 3 weeks at a time

  10. Oh - okay - now I get it. However, since the oldest baby boomers are turning 70 this year, you would have a heck of a long wait as they can be cruising for the next 20 years!

Baby Boomers are the ones the Holland is trying to get. Was on Celebrity in December mostly Baby Boomers. Holland mostly pre Baby Boomers.

In my case as a Baby Boomer like to see more less semi formal but no polo shirts. I think you will see it sooner than later

  11. I cannot see Silversea going the way of Holland America but they may go the way of other luxury cruise lines - eventually. Many people still dress up on other luxury lines - even though the dress code is more "Elegant Casual" or "Formal Optional".

Now that I've lived through the changes (on Regent) of going from "Formal", "Informal", etc., to "Elegant Casual", I would prefer a dress code that does not allow polo shirts -- just dress shirts. IMO, polo shirts are not elegant by any means. My DH wears long sleeved dress shirts with slacks on most nights and adds a sports jacket on "special" nights or when we eat in a reservation-only dining venue. When dining with an officer, he puts on a tie.

I don't think that anyone is looking for a sloppy dress code - nor one where people looked like trussed up turkeys. There is a happy medium -- even young people seem fine with that.

I meant the loss of passengers due to aging .

  12. The bottom line is no one's opinion will count regarding dress codes. It's the market that drives everything and if SS wants to court a younger demographic (which it most certainly does, the reason there are now so many seven day cruises) they will relax the dress code. Younger people simply do not want to pack a tuxedo for one two formal nights.

You are right as they have to get younger demographics are they will go they way of Holland America

Have 2 formal and a few semi is fine but on a 11 day cruise Caribbean cruise to have 2 formal and 6 semi formal and 3 casual . What I found strange is on semi formal all you need to do is wear a jacket into the dining room. We are going on Spirit March 31 going to be interesting how many semi they have. Last time we went they had 2 4 and 4

I will take odds they loosen up the dress code.

  13. One awful realization yesterday: It seems that I forgot to bring along the charger for my camera, and this is a 31 day cruise for us. I have a couple of charged batteries, so I'll pretend that I am back in the days of film and limited photos. I'll be looking for a camera store. Oh, well, I guess the I-Pad and smartphone take something akin to photos.

If you have a cable you can use the usb charger that is near the tv I was told they are there

    Steve

  14. The TV's in the Silver Suites have a HDMI and USB outlet as they are free standing.

Also, "Hot Rocks" is now called the grill.

This is day 3 of our voyage and we've dined both nights in the restaurant and the food has been fabulous.

We will also be on your voyage on March 31st :)

Thxs for the good news. We loved dining on deck at night.

We have a Vista Suite now but hoping the ship is somewhat-empty then a upgrade  . Last time it happened

We will have to meet up for drinks .

    Steve and Linda

  15. The ports Keith refers to do accept a USB cable, and I was able to use the port to charge my phone, but it is not clear that it is an input for the TV. I would go into My Silversea and send a request to get information about it. They are very responsive.

They said they do not know . Not going to cancel my cruise for that :D

We have a Portable Pocket Projector that works great last time we watch on deck at night had a lot of people watching with us .

Other thing we wanted to ask NO hot rocks ???

  16. Kilroyshere

I have been reading your posts. It seems like you have lets call them problems with every Luxury cruise line.

If that is the case why bother to cruise ? The posting on CC are a very small amount of people that cruise every year. So the statics are really not that great. If things where that bad would they still be in business.

We have been on cruises that people have complained about this or that and we say to each other what are they talking about.

But in the long run you will still cruise. Remember they can not please everyone every time.

  17. Business account?

Have you looked at Barclay Arrival? Similar model, but Barclay rebates 10% of your redeemed miles. I don't know if there are any caps on that feature. The annual fee is a bit more, but if you accrue an extra 175,000 miles it seems well worth a few extra bucks. The annual fee is waved the first year also, so win/win.

I have both private and business. The fee is not even worth worrying about.

I talked to them when it come out and will not offer business cards. I think due to the amount you can rack up . The average user would not accrue millions of points.

If you do not pay off every month in full, points are not worth that much as interest is more than the points

Capital One just gave us Orange Bowl almost on the field tickets for being a good customer.
