Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yes it was on the QM2. Can’t speak of the other Queens as we haven’t tried them yet. On other QM2 cruises in other cabins there was never a problem for our CPAPS. We did not have to use extension cords as our adapters did the trick to plug in close to the bed. Happy Cruising
  2. Realize this response might be a bit dated, but, hopefully will provide some reassurance. Last May and wife and I did a B2B2B totalling 17 nights in a Britannia Club Cabin (in one of the newer ones) . We both use a CPAP and had no challenges. Our cabin steward was most helpful supplying distilled water. Additional context we are Canadian so N.A. Outlets or suitable converters/adapters may be required, which, we always have when we travel outside NA. Hope you had a great cruise or will have a great time.
  3. How about packing/clothing for a 15 day Scenic cruise followed by 17 days on the QM2 plus the days before and after, 35 in total. And BTW we do like dressing up on the QM2 including a Tux for the several gala nights. And 7 of those days will be in Norway. A challenge for sure, but any suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated. Safe travels to all.
  4. At the end of the day it is all about respect. Self respect, respect for your fellow cruisers, respect for the cruise line and their staff. It you think you are so important that respect doesn’t matter then show up at any venue in whatever you what. And others who have a modicum of self respect, will just look at you and secretly say what a slob for wearing a ball cap (front or back)in a MDR or shorts and a T or whatever goes for super casual dress (like tattered jeans or PJ pants). A cruise is a special occasion for the few that can afford it. Treat it with respect. Just my 10 cents worth.
  5. While a few years ago (2019) we, with another couple embarked in SH and our previously booked mini van was waiting (around 100£ for the fours of us and lots of room for luggage) direct to St. Pancras . The journey was no problem at all. They were off to Spain so they took the Eurostar to Paris, lots of trains. We were headed to Amsterdam and didn’t want to arrive late so we overnighted in the Renaissance Hotel at St Pancras, very convenient, and left the next day. Overall lots of options from SH to Paris. We have used the Eurostar both ways and at different price points and it has always been a good experience. Safe Travels!
  6. Someone above characterized Halifax as a small town. While not a an expert on the subject. Halifax, with a population of well over 400,000 would not in my mind qualify as a small town. That being said, there are, as many above have noted lots of wonderful historic and beautiful sites to see. However, no one mentioned tours to the Annapolis Valley and it’s popular vineyards about an hour away. For those visiting Halifax enjoy.
  7. I have briskly walked many laps on QM2 . The direction doesn’t matter. When I come up to those walking slower than I am I just slow down and wait for an appropriate time to over take. I focus on the fact that I’m on a beautiful liner and the few seconds lost on my walk here or there is lost in the moment so of no real concern. Enjoy the walks however, long or short they may be.
  8. Another CO question! We will be in a NS as a result of a very reasonable upgrade offer, however, the couple we are travelling with were not made an offer. While I know they cannot use the Neptune Lounge, can they dine in CO as our quests or is that tightly controlled as well? Thanks for any input and safe travels all.
  9. Yesterday, through our TA we were offered an upsell from a Signature Suite to a Neptune SA for $799 USD for a 23 day Panama transit. Less than $35/P/day. And, we were able to “see” the cabin before deciding. We took the offer. Safe travels all.
  10. Thanks AFN: not the response I was hoping for😀. But, I do appreciate the info. I will just have to pay attention to the the menu costs to avoid a surprise at the end of our 23 day cruise. again Many Thanks
  11. Another and different question that I hope some of you experienced cruisers can answer. We are travelling this fall with a Have It All package. Understand the 15 drink limit for drinks at or under $11. Question is: If you purchase a Drink over the $11 limit do they charge the difference or do you have to pay the full amount and it doesn’t go against your daily 15 drink allowance. Thanks and Happy Cruising
