  1. I never had a problem on the Nautica either - Oct-Nov. 6
  2. Julie grew on me. And she is, of course, not British, but Australian, originally from Tasmania. Hope Dottie is not on the Vista next year!
  3. Well unfortunately it’s not Leslie! It’s Julie, an older British lady. Started off with an EXTREMELY LOUD announcement soon after it was announced that all cabins were ready and then had to immediately come back on the loudspeaker to CORRECT her announcement, as it was totally wrong! I can already tell she is going to get on my nerves.
  4. Great to hear, and hope he’s still there. Will raining when we embark tomorrow.
  5. What app is someone using that shows the location of the ship at all times without using cell or data services?
  6. That’s pretty bad! You would THINK Destination Services would have known by then you were skipping the port! And yes, Peter the shoe is terrible! I hope he’s not CD on my cruise on the Nautica in three days. Had him on a TA on the Marina in April, and he really got on my nerves.🙄
  7. Glad to hear about Oceania’s responsiveness in your cases. So sorry this happened to you, and hope you had good travel insurance!
  8. You will, but everyone won’t, unless they are tested by the ship’s doctor, in which they will be forced to if they test positive.
  9. I’m very happy about the addition of lighted mirrors!
  10. I’m American, but I compare air before I decide. If I pay the air deviation fee, my TA gets me good flights and I can fly in a day ahead of time. Since I’m a solo traveler, I don’t want to spend several days in a hotel by myself unless it’s a city that’s easy to get around like Miami, San Francisco, London, Vancouver, Sydney or Barcelona. I recently saved several thousand US$ by letting Oceania book my return business class airfare from Barcelona one way. I get automatic upgrades, but with the competition for those upgrades these days, I’m afraid to leave it to chance for international flights.
  11. I completely agree! I get double points for every NIGHT I sail with Regent Seven Seas, and NCLH owns them both!
  12. I doubt it will be the same price as SS or SB with the new structure. NCLH already owns all-inclusive Regent SS to compete with them.
  13. It’s up to about $19 now. At this price it’s worth buying 100 shares if you cruise in NCLH a few times a year. Hope everyone knows proof of ownership of 100 shares will get you $100 onboard credit for any Norwegian, Oceania and Regent cruise.
  14. I hope you meant “non-drinkers” instead of “non-alcoholics.😂
  15. Sorry to hear that. Maybe looking way in advance they didn’t want to take a chance, with that many people, on something happening again. Glad you were able to book privately and enjoy!
  16. I was relaying my experience. I think my TA made the difference.
  17. Sorry to head about Peter—I know there are people who like him. Figured the entertainment was still “old.” Machu Picchu was probably canceled due to civil unrest. Not long ago the railroad closed and tourists were stuck walking mikes along the tracks. Also sorry to hear about the AC and cold food. Will see for myself when I board Thursday and go TA Miami to Rome…
  18. Yep—I paid air deviation, gave them the exact flight I wanted — return from Rome to Charlotte from TA, abd got a non-stop direct on my preferred airline. Had priced a one-way myself (used miles to Miami embarkation port) and actually saved several thousand dollars booking through Oceania.
  19. Me too! Motril and one other port next week curtailed by two hours in each place!
  20. Only service animals, but they would have to be allowed.
  21. Interesting thread. I’ve been on the Danube before, but I’m on a Viking river cruise from Basel to Amsterdam in mid-September, so will have to watch here. Never been that route and doing pre and post stays.
  22. My grandmother was from Germany, and I never underestimated her sense of humor!🤣
