Yes, to both but the drinks have a cost. I can't remember the cost but if you have a drinks package or plus they are included. Otherwise there is a lower price for select drinks but you can order anything you like. There will be a list in your cabin letting you know what hors d'oeuvres are offered each night.

Been four times since the pause, no menu is left in the room for Elite Lounge, only an invite. There will be a menu displayed in the lounge with offerings for the sailing.

We ae booked in cabins E436 and 438 on Majestic. April 2, 2022, not a lot of cabin choices. I understand that these are Obstructed but that is not a problem. My question is about noise from Promenade deck below. Bistro Sur Mer is below but I don't think that would be a problem.

Zero noise, the restaurant during the day is used for crafts, and night there's rarely people dining.

Does Princess provide free testing in san pedro prior to embarkation on Majestic Mexico cruises or do I need to have it done before i leave home?

It is not free, you can make an appointment.  The FAQ section on the Cruise Health Princess website has details. Another testing option may be available for fully vaccinated guests on select voyages who are having trouble getting a pre-cruise testing appointment. For voyages departing from Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles or San Francisco through February 28, 2022 we will be able to provide a limited number of antigen tests for fully vaccinated guests only at a cost of $100 per person. Reservations are required and may be made up to 10 days in advance. Testing will take place on embarkation day at the cruise terminal. Test appointments are subject to capacity restrictions and reservations are required

They stopped having steaks in the everyday available of the MDR menu a couple of years back,  Before the pandemic.  Glad to hear that they are nicely enforcing the mask rule.

There would be a crown grill section on the MDR menu with a $19 charge prior to the shutdown. It lasted perhaps a little less than two years.

Thank you for your quick response and honesty. We have been on the Grand and loved it! If I can't talk my brother in law out of the Seattle to Seattle itinerary, would you steer clear of the Ocean View cabins at the front of ship and go midship? (His wife gets sea sick)

If they need to book interior cabins, check out the midship or mid forward deck 5, which is low and in the middle, less motion. Also very convenient since these are a short 30 second walk to the piazza.

Yes you were lucky. I was in a balcony on the Caribe deck on the Ruby in October & December with no sofa.

See my photos below. Not sure where you would put a sofa. Any ideas?

We are boosted and most of the people we spoke with on the ship were as well, but no way of knowing the percentage of those who got sick since the policy is not to share any info. And we were moved from our mini suite into a deluxe balcony for the quarantine as they were “out of” of the larger cabins. Again, speaking to how many people fell ill…

Thank you.  Hope you are on the mend. 😃   We have booked deck 10 mid-aft, so I guess right above the quarantine cabins. Maybe we can add some cheer or conversation to anyone who is in the lonely quarantine.

I am scheduled to sail on Regal Princess at the end of January, and was wondering if jeans are acceptable attire in the MDR (not formal night) and specialty restaurants.  I have been sailing Celebrity almost exclusively for the past several years and jeans are acceptable in the MDR.  This is my first sailing on Princess in quite some time and I don't want to be dressed inappropriately.  Many thanks!

Absolutely dressy ones. No holes or rips.

    Hello,

We have taken 27 cruises over the years and have never sailed to Alaska, even though we live on the West Coast. All our cruises have been Caribbean and Europe.

I know nothing about Alaska cruising.

My husbands brothers are coming from Michigan for this Alaska cruise. One of them sailed on Princess (several years ago) in July and loved it. He said his only disappointment was not seeing any bears catching Salmon and would like to go in August or September if this would be better timing for this.

I am born and raised in So California and am not a cold weather person (like they all are). I know the weather will be cool but I do not want a lot of rain or bone chilling weather. Is September going to be too cold or rainy for me?

Looking at dates, many Ocean View cabins are already Sold Out. This leaves inside cabin (which I don't mind) or Balcony (which may be too cold to use)

There are a few Ocean View cabins on a couple dates that are looking out over the front of the ship.

The cruise we are looking at is Discovery Princess Seattle to Seattle (Either in August or September...need help deciding on month)

    Ketchikan 6:30am - 3:00pm

Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier (scenic Cruising) Do we need a balcony cabin or is viewing from top deck a better option?

    Juneau 12:30pm - 9:00pm

    Skagway 6:00am - 5:00pm

Victoria 7:00pm - 11:59pm (I am disappointed in the late arrival. I really want to see the Butchart Gardens, so we may come in a day earlier to Seattle and visit the gardens from there)

    Questions:

    1. Which month would you choose for the best weather while viewing wildlife? August or September (also keeping in mind that one brother wants to see bears catching Salmon)

    2. Is there much to see from your Balcony to make it worth the cost of it, verses an Inside Cabin? (only a few Ocean View left on some sailings)

    3. Is there a reason you would choose a different itinerary than this one?

Thanks so much for any input you can give on helping us select the month to sail on this Alaska cruise!

While the Discovery is new, the decks won't be as plentiful as a ship like the Grand.  And the Discovery will go on the outside of Vancouver Island in rough waters to begin and end your cruise.

We used our balcony once; you will hear the "you MUST have a balcony..."  you don't.  Spend that money on excursions.  The views are panoramic from the open decks.

As promised, another update as our cruise has ended. Not the update I was hoping to give, however, as we spent the last two nights in the quarantine rooms on the Dolphin deck. We noticed a few days ago that everywhere on the ship coughs and sneezes could be heard, and started feeling a little more run down than usual. To be safe (and respectful of other passengers) we took tests and were both positive. Guest services wouldn't give us a head count of others who tested positive, but as we disembarked this morning (full hazmat suited escorts took us out group by group out a service elevator and around the side of the boat to the back side of customs) I tried to count the other "sick rooms" but lost count after at least 20 or so surrounding doors with red dots and notes on them. And our group of 6 was the last of several, according to a radio we overheard. I don't want to discourage anyone from cruising, but I think the best thing you can do is assume that everyone you are around has it, and act accordingly (take the stairs, wear your mask at all times, etc). We are in our 30s/40s and feeling pretty miserable at the moment. Not the way we wanted to end our trip, to say the least!

That is no fun. Do you know if the majority of sick have been boosted?  We saw Princess just sent out a survey asking about boosters. At least it wasn't the start of the cruise.  Did they put you in minisuites?

yes to the wake show, no to shout outs, jokes, or contests...it is rather disappointing (I know Steve the CD is new to the Grand or newly back to the Grand but he isn't very dynamic on the show)...there is a lot of pre-taped content (Medallion, spa, wrinkle treatment, etc.) & not much except kind of reading the list of activities for the day...hopefully he hits his stride & improves for you

He has a different personality.  Gary, who just left, was the I've had 10 cups of coffee. Let's get this party started!  And we've been on 4 cruises since the restart - all wake shows are now abbreviated.

Quick question for anyone onboard.  I see in the Patter that IC is only open til midnight and not 24 hours.  Does anyone know if this is staffing related?  Or simply due to lower passenger volumes?

Gonna be sad if I can't get my late night snack in next month.

Was onboard last month, both Majestic and Grand.  Grand closed at midnight due to lack of passengers.  But room service is always 24 hours and delivers anywhere on the ship.
