Going across town to head south on the FDR Drive can be slower; and, the Brooklyn Bridge over the East River to Brooklyn is free with no toll (yet.)

 

Curious what 3X toll rates Carmel is quoting ??

Anyone know anything of an upcoming sale after the 40% off (yeah right) ending Sept 24. 3 for 3 is not for Feb 2019 cruises.

Thank you all for the info. I will be taking Dial 7 as they are cheaper than Carmel. Carmel is charging more for the tolls. 3 times more as being quoted on the phone.

I had my name on a waitlist thru calling Princess. They made me leave a refundable deposit and then you can call daily to see how close you are to being first on list if someone cancels. You also have to tell them what type of cabin you want. Now, this was years ago, so things may have changed.

Does anyone know the approximate cost of Uber from EWR to a Times Square hotel in the morning weekday? Wondering if I should get Uber or Carmel. Carmel quoted me $44 plus tolls plus tip. He said the tolls should be approx $17. Uber does not seem to get estimates anymore.

Also, best way to get from Times Square to Red Hook? Same question ...Uber vs Carmel. One person. Midweek

Two comments.

1.You say that the cabins were not "ready" until 1 PM but did they block you from making your way to them to at least drop off your bags?

 

2. It sounds like the reduction of dinner items/service at the Horizon buffet was done purposely to drive people to the pay extra dinner places (Steamers and Planks).:(

After all, any changes that Princess comes up with lately is always centered around profit and not just to attract passengers for free.

What better way to drive them to pay more than reduce the free stuff. :D

Your key will not work in the slot. It will stay red and locked, not green to open. I had that on the Royal recently

Just returned Monday from a 10 day Caribbean Cruise on the Royal. Ship is just beautiful, room was great (E106- obstructed balcony, but large balcony), food was great and the cruise director Matt O'Brien was amazing. Counting the days till my next cruise on the Carribean Princess in August. This will cruise #21 on Princess.

Just returned today from the Royal. Great cruise, great food. Matt O the CD is one of the best if not the best CD around. Perry Grant in Crooners always a hoot. Any questions, feel free.

In Bonaire today. A bit windy. Food is amazing on the ship. The buffet has so much to offer and great taste. Yes, the BOGO is gone and there are expiration dates on the coffee cards. Troy Thirdgill the comedian was hilarious. The singer the 2nd night I didn't attend, the ventriloquist last night was funny. I didn't care for the Silk show, kind of boring storyline, but the singers and dancers are great.
