  1. And as far as New York- Halifax- New York- same rules apply. You WILL need to complete the ArriveCAM, will need to be vaccinated, and will need a CoVid test before boarding- even if you have no intentions of getting off the ship.
  2. Canada does not require a CoVid test before entering Canada. But IT DOES REQUIRE A TEST BEFORE BOARDING A CRUISE SHIP. This may ALSO be required by your cruiseline but it is the Canadian requirements that are critical. And Canada also requires that you complete a second ArriveCAN for the cruise- this is required even if you have just entered Canada to go to the ship. The cruise ship ArriveCAN requires that you upload your test results- and won't give you an approval without it. There is no sense in fighting it- these are Canadian government regulations and you will be in Canada, or will be boarding a ship which will sail into Canada. It is not a complicated form to complete- and the second one will have a lot of the form filled out for you from your previous submission.
  3. Slightly longer answer- yes and yes and yes. Even if you have no plans on getting off the ship. Your cruiseline is supposed to confirm that everyone has the approved ArriveCAN prior to boarding. And one reads of total chaos at ports where people have not completed it prior to getting to the port. It is a quick and very user friendly app so don't fret about it. You need to complete it, including your CoVid test results, within 72 hours of boarding.
  4. The one which leaves from the ship and returns to the ship at the glacier? If that one then it is not at all strenuous and I think very very few go swimming. Easy to board the smaller ship (boat?) with lots of strong looking people around to be sure you can do the transfer easily. No walking really. If it is another excursion- then I have no idea.
  5. We will give Walgreens a shot- they (currently) offer the rapid test so with luck in another month they still will.
  6. In that case- for sure bring extra prescription meds! Although completely without thought we managed to make things as easy and safe for us as possible- fly directly to Canada which means everyone has to be vaccinated, sail out of Vancouver which means that everyone will also have had a negative CoVid test, fly back from Alaska directly so no concerns about test results. Unless of course we get sick on board. Which is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! (I figure if I should it, maybe that will work!)
  7. Any prescription meds- these days an extra week or two of whatever you take might be prudent. Do I understand this properly? Fly into Vancouver (ArriveCAN needed), board ship (a second ArriveCAN and test results), cruise to Alaska, fly home from there? No test needed to fly back home since it is actually a domestic flight.
  8. You do need to complete a second one- choose the cruise option even if it says arriving in Canada. This version of ArriveCAN requires that you upload a copy of your CoVid test results, required for cruises but not for entering Canada.
  9. They have added this on the CA government website: " Before boarding your cruise ship: all travellers must submit their embarkation test information into ArriveCAN within 72 hours of boarding a cruise, including Canadians and those who just used ArriveCAN to enter Canada: in another country for a cruise that will enter Canada in Canada This is in contradiction to what I was told about 2 weeks ago when I called to clarify this. So- we will complete the ArriveCAN prior to boarding our plane, and then do a second cruise specific one when we arrive in Vancouver, including the results of the CoVid test. Most of the information will have been saved so it should not take more than a couple of minutes to complete. I was one of those who argued against needing a second one after arriving in Vancouver because that is what I had specifically been told so I wanted to alert people. I am posting this also here since it seems like a lot of people don't go over to the Canada branch.

  11. Wondering if this is a must do? We are taking a small boat excursion from Juneau to see Tracy Arm and unsure if the Hubbard up close and personal is really necessary. I’m sure it’s good, but quite pricey. Will we regret not signing up?
