  1. Hello. I am looking to see if anyone has a picture of and Oceanview or balcony cabin for 4 people with the 4 beds down or made. Oceanview seems to be 2 upper berths and balcony one upper and couch. I just wanted to see what the room looked like with all the beds made. Do they put them up during the day or leave them down the whole time?
  2. I will be in Whittier and then Anchorage June 26 & 27. Thanks for your advice on trails!
  3. It was pretty rough the first day or two and a little rough a day or two before Ensenada. I get sea sick and did fine just taking two meclizine on the rougher days. I will say after the first night (really rough) I was dreading more sea days. But it did get smoother and I loved the cruise.
  4. Not aware of any other pay casual dining. Our cruise director for December 22nd cruise was Jody. She was good. I am not sure if she will be on in February or not.
  5. Hello, I am looking at several options for a Whittier to Anchorage transfer. I would like to book an option that includes the Alaska Wildlife Center. It seems I can book a half day tour for way less than half the price of a full day tour. The full day tour seems to include Aleyska resort and a lunch, plus is longer. Is it worth it to go to that resort? I can also go back another time as well if it's worth it, as I will be picking up a rental car in Anchorage. No rental car availability for what I need in Whittier. I will have two teens with me, so a full day bus tour might be boring for them. Any experience with either the half day or full day tour from Whittier to Anchorage? Experiences ACT big bus or Anchorage Tours and Transfers? One is a big bus and other is a shuttle bus. Thanks!
  6. Make a reservation for USS Arizona $1. Onsite you can choose what else to buy. As far as tours I don't know since I didn't do one. there is an audio tour you can purchase there as well. This website has a ton of information: https://www.nps.gov/perl/index.htm (the official national park website)
  7. I was surprised I could book them in a room as well. My princess vacation planner told me it was 16 and up. I did eventually get the web version to mostly work. I can't add credit card for their room or complete contract. I called the help desk and they told me all I could do was add a parent to the room or complete at pier.
  8. Do you know what time you can drop bags off with the porters in San Francisco? We might drop bags off and go explore as well.
  9. Kids will be 16 (turning 17) and 15 on cruise. This is the first time they have their own room, so all this is new to me. I will definitely want to put limit on their spending - thanks for that reminder!
  10. Hello. I am having issues completing check in for my minor children who are booked in their own room. I tried to download the app and complete and was unable to get far. So then I tried the web version. I can complete some of the information for them, but I am stuck on -credit card (says invalid even though information is correct and same credit card used on my booking) - passage contract....directs me to my passage contract Do I just not worry about these items? Also, are my kids able to use the app onboard? Anything special I need to do for them to use? Thanks for any advice!
  11. We overnight in port, so it would be possible and definitely something to consider.
  12. 100% agree do Pearl Harbor on your own. Make reservations for USS Arizona ahead of time and then that day you can decide what else to do. Close to port and can easily take bus, Uber, or taxi. Make sure to have a clear bag only if you take a bag.
  13. Yes, the blowhole in Oahu was active. I believe it's called Halona blow hole. There is one in Kauai as well called spouting horn.
  14. We went down by Diamondhead, stopped by a blow hole, stopped someplace for Huli chicken, drive so more and stopped at Pineapple plantation. It was all really pretty but a lot of time on the bus. I would have preferred stopping more often. We only made 3 stops.
  15. Well we are tentatively planning on flying to Maui for the day on Thursday. On Friday we plan on going snorkeling - hopefully at Hanauma Bay if we can get reservations. We also plan to go to Pearl Harbor on our own and maybe drive around a little bit. I found it was much cheaper to get a car from the airport. So we will get one Thursday night and then drive to port and park. Then start out first thing Friday am for snorkeling. We had also thought about hiking Diamondhead (Reservations required). We are taking 2 teens and niether have been to Hawaii or Maui, so reason we are thinking of day trip to Maui :). Husband and I were Oahu in May and did a circle Island tour. I do feel that is something you could certainly do on your own with a rental car!
  16. Our ship will be staying overnight in Honolulu. Are there any parking lots somewhat near the cruise terminal that you have experience parking over night? I'd rather not go all the way back to the airport to park. Thanks!
  17. This is a fairly new luau, has anyone done this one? Looking for feedback. I did read some Google reviews and it has been well reviewed. I will be in town on a Thursday and the Toa Luau is not offered Thursday which is one I was interested in. Polynesian Cultural Center Luau is too far away for me to feel comfortable making it back to ship on time. Mauka Warriors Luau looked neat. Seems smaller, but not super small. Experience Nutridge I am worried is too small (show wise). Thanks for any feedback or advice.
  18. Are there any places that are decent to snorkel near Honolulu? Ideally we would like to hike Diamondhead in morning, followed by Pearl Harbor, and then snorkel somewhere somewhat close to the Honolulu area. I looked at Hanauma Bay, but I am afraid we wouldn't get parking since we wouldn't get there first thing. I will have a car. Would prefer safe shore snorkeling as I will have two teens with me. We are probably doing a snorkel boat tour in Maui, so just something from shore would be great 🙂 If Hanauma bay is really worth it, then I will try and make it after Diamondhead. However, the price and having to make a reservation and worry about parking is very much a downside. Since we are doing so much already and I read the North Shore waves are bad in winter, probably no snorkeling suggestions there. Thanks for any advice!
  19. What time did you get stand in line for a ticket, and what time did you get off the boat? I am trying to see if an 11:30 snorkel tour is doable (45 minutes away). Thanks!
  20. Thanks so much! No worries, she doesn't have to ask at Kids Club. I am sure we can find out when we sail in December. We have never done a cruise with kids on Princess (we have sailed Carnival mainly with them), so just trying to get an idea of activities to tell them about. But not a huge deal if they can't participate in cake making - it does look fun, though!
  21. Yes, my family will be sailing on that date. Can't wait!
  22. If possible, please let me know how the tendering process goes in Lahaina tomorrow. We are not priority and I wonder what time my family would realistically be able to get off the ship. I am enjoying your review so far! We will be doing 16 night Hawaiian in Crown Princess in December with two teens. I know you said the cake decorating was for kids, do you know if it's also offered for the teen group to sign up. Thanks!
  23. We are scheduled to arrive at Catalina Island at 7:30 a.m. What time can I realistically expect to get off on a tender if I don't book a Carnival excursion? Trying to figure out what time might be feasible to start a golf cart rental. Is 10:00 a.m. doable? I am not sure how long the tender ride is or how far the golf rental is once we get ashore. Thanks so much!
