Easy answer - taxi. Not worth messing around with shuttles or uber to save a few bucks. Jump in a taxi and go 🙂

Can’t understand the fascination with these. It’s beef in a roll 🤷♂️
Yep. It was an average roast beef sandwich pre-pandemic, I'm sure it's an average roast beef sandwich now.

Why have jewelry if you're afraid to wear it. The wife always blings out on a cruise. Never an issue in 150+ voyages.
Exactly. If one isn't going to enjoy jewelry when traveling, what is it for, wearing to the grocery at home?

Yes, but at 3x the price you'd pay at home.

We were booked on the February 25th cruise on Vision of the Seas. I did not pitch a fit when they cancelled it, didn't blame Royal Caribbean. I just booked on Celebrity Silohette for the same dates going to the same places except Labadee which I am happy about. No sweat. Even going out of the same port. Now hoping all will go well with that ship. We will see.
No one on this thread was "pitching a fit", or "blaming" RCCL..........

I discovered that an unvaccinated employee of a restaurant had tested positive with a purchased home kit, and the restaurant never closed down. So I can’t help but wonder how many cases go unreported.
Seriously? If every business who had an employee test positive "closed down", practically NOTHING would be open. Forever, since covid isn't going away.

Not going to sleep well tonight after reading this thread. My wife and I are flying to FLL at 530am with my 85 year old mother to jump on the Equinox for a 6 night cruise.
Good luck with that.

I believe I heard the cdc said no need to test asymptomatic person that was exposed to a positive tested person. They have been changing their guidelines the last couple of days.
They've been changing their "guidelines" the last couple years.......

I just looked up their policy and posted a snapshot of it.
Even if further quarantine days are no longer required, you’re not allowed to fly on your airline. So Royal needs to get you home! Here is the link in case you need to show the Royal people their very own published policy! https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/medical-center
Interesting. It sounds like RCCL has no intention of even looking into whether or not guests qualify for this. Just give them a "letter" (maybe), and get them off the boat.

They were expecting a dream cruise. Instead things turned ugly. They have every right to complain. You cannot expect everyone to be as brave as you are.
End of Message. Happy cruising!
No one should expect a "Dream Cruise" right now. The best that can be hoped for is to mask up, maybe see a show, maybe dock at your ports, and hope you don't end up in quarantine. Some here claim that's a dream cruise now because they're "on a ship" and "looking at the ocean". Addiction is a fascinating thing.

I just went to put trash in the hall and saw 8-10 people coming through with the hazmat army. New recruits to Covid Row on 6. So 6 isn't full yet but they did just open the wall to the new hallway for more rooms.
Hang in there and thanks for all your reporting. You know you've been there too long when terms such as "hazmat army" and "covid row" become the norm.........😢

Get a day pass to the Barbados Hilton. They grant you access to the hotel's pool, beach, and other amenities, plus lunch. It's a great place to spend the day since the pool is nice and the beach is outstanding for swimming.
Spent a week there 5 years ago, very nice. Don't forget a fish sandwich at Cuz's Shack nearby 🙂

We were due our third crystal block on Adventure February 2020. Staff promised it would show up in the room but it never did. After everything shut down soon after, we never bothered to call about it.

I didn't set the number's. Is what it is. Doesn't bother me one way or another, everyone seems to do what they want anyway. Doesn't seem to bother me as much as it does you.
Doesn't bother me at all. But apparently it bothers you that I quoted you 🙂

Isn't outside have a reduced distance like 3ft or something like that, but like you said still how is that going to happen?
3 feet, 6 feet, whatever. Two years in most people have moved on from that nonsense.

3 months ago we moved 4 January/February cruises to 2023. Had nothing to do with the CDC, fear of any "variant" or covid. We just have no interest in cruising with masks, tracelets, port uncertainty, etc etc etc etc. There are people happy to sit on a ship for 7 straight days and submitting to all that, but it isn't us.
If things haven't gotten better in 2023 we'll get our refundable deposits back and move on.

2 years of crappy vacations makes it worth it. I am trying to keep in mind that most things do work out in the end. But I get what you mean.
That's unfortunate. We've had two years of great vacations.

This is not cruising. That is why I bailed out and doing land trips until 2023.
Agree. RCCL and the other lines are very fortunate so many people are happy to mask up and sit on a ship for a week without getting off.

Well over 100K cases in Fl last week. From a public health perspective, I don’t think they are worried about 50-100 folks getting off the ship with Covid. The issue is so much bigger than that.
Correct. OP seems fixated that a few cruisers are a danger when they are just a drop in the bucket once off the ship.

Will those disembarking be released to the port cities and allowed to roam around until returning home or are the known cases required to quarantine? It seems the concern of infecting those on land is completely absent. Is this variant so mild, no one cares anymore?
Seriously? There were 189,000 positive cases in the US, YESTERDAY. I don't think anyone is worried about a few cruise passengers "roaming around" when the entire country is already infested with covid.....

The captain admitted the crew gets tested only weekly. so why wait until Tuesday when we boarded Saturday?
The ships are full of customers all day every day, why would it matter?

Thanks for the report. Makes me happy we shifted all of this winters cruises to 2023.

The Cruise lines are going to drive the customer base into the ground....
Hundreds of situations/locations to devise protocols for and monitor, limited number of employees half qualified to do the monitoring. CDC breathing down their necks. Media ready to pounce on every so called "outbreak". It's a miracle they're doing as well as they are.
Customers are lining up to go, no sign of them being "driven into the ground", whatever that means.

I’m looking at the new people coming on board like deer in headlights and I’m just hoping to heaven that we don’t have the same situation as we had last week. Keeping an open mind and an open heart and looking forward to another relaxing week with the family.
Cheers!Have a good week 🙂 What ports are you scheduled to visit?

Serenade noise problem from centrum?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
No matter what anyone says, there is definitely a possibility of noise issues on Radiance class ships if your cabin is near the centrum, Period. They sometimes close the doors, which obviously proves it's an issue.
