  1. See you on Splendor in January πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ˜‚
  2. Goodness me, I wish I could delete my post. Lesson learned, quit cruise critic. A shame as I’ve met loads of lovely people on board through being on CC. Pre cruise and post. Now I’ll wait until I board to meet like minded people πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ·πŸ·πŸ·πŸ·πŸ·over and out
  3. For goodness sake lighten up. So sorry I offended you, by saying I got compliments. I’ll think twice about putting anything on CC in future. Mea culpa
  4. Thanks for the info. That’s a shame he was great. I hope his new job is everything he wants. He will certainly be a big loss. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  5. Quick question is Gino still on piano in Observation lounge or has he finished. He was on Splendor last year and he was great. He even learnt a new Scottish song and played it for us on our last night. thank you πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ₯
  6. We will be boarding Grandeur 20th May. I will be dressing up every night, long evening dresses included I don’t want to wear on a cruise the same clothes I wear day to day at home. So it’s all my very best dresses and accessories. May be just me, but it’s part of the holiday for me, and my husband. I have had so many lovely positive comments made on my clothes, I wonder why so many passengers don’t want to dress up. i wish Regent would go back to a more formal dress code, of an evening. We did a cruise on P & O in the Mediterranean and it was lovely to see everyone dressed up on the Captains night, even young girls in prom dresses. Why Regent have relaxed dress code defeats me. I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing and enjoy being on such a beautiful ship, surely the cost and luxury of these cruises warrant well dressed passengers. My opinion, but I hope valid. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  7. Can you ask Lorraine if she will be on board for Mediterranean cruises in May. Saw her on the TV series on the the Splendor and she was great on that, would be nice to see her in person. thanks Lynda πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  8. Hope Prime 7 improves by the time we get on Grandeur May 20th. If not luckily there is Pacific Rim to fall back too. It’s been our favourite on our last two cruises, Explorer and Splendor 2023. I see we may cross paths on Splendor January 5th Capetown to Rio, small world it seems. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³ i
  9. Hi, I honestly can’t say what other companies would be like, but I certainly wouldn’t go if this company was providing the excursion. I would ask destination services when you board for more information. We did report our experience to the DS Manager Sixtose, he said he’d get back to us, but been home two weeks and still no feed back. If you can see my photo and go on to the companies website, very different pictures, a few years old I would say and not what I expect from RSSC. We are not complainers, and did give praise when due on another couple of excursions we did. They were included excursions. By the by, having to pay 10 A$ dollars for a beer, just added insult to injury. I wish I’d stayed on the ship and enjoyed cocktails by the pool. πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸ·πŸ· i hope you have a great trip, we did apart from this. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  10. Anyone doing Great Barrier Reef excursion. Just a heads up. We did the Great Barrier Reef excursion in November from Airlie Beach extra cost of Β£159. From the Explorer. Luxury Catamaran it was not, the pontoon was filthy, bird muck over decks and loungers. Shabby in the extreme, extensive buffet was at best mediocre. Having researched the company who provided the Reef cruise, on our return home, Their advertising pictures bare no resemblance to the actual experience. I personally only spent 5 minutes in the reef, as after the cyclone passing through days earlier made the reef very choppy, I consider myself a strong swimmer, but I felt concerned by the conditions, couldn’t see any fish because visibility was very poor. We changed out of swimwear in less than adequate changing rooms, got back on the catamaran and waited 1hour thirty minutes for our return to the ships rather than get back on the pontoon. To have waited over a year for this visit to the reef, this was so very disappointing.its the same people doing the Cairns and Airlue beach excursion. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone I knew wanted to do the Barrier Reef. We attached the only only one a wanted to take, taken as we left, with no fond memories at all. This my opinion, but thought it may be of interest to others thinking of doing this excursion.
  11. Thank you. Get your point. I’m just going to enjoy, and take each day as it arrives. I’ve enjoyed our previous cruises so much and have others booked, it will be what We make it, everything else a bonus. Just being in the sunshine will lift my spirits, as well as meeting new people and seeing new sights. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  12. Must admit, I’m getting more than a little concerned about our upcoming cruise, boarding Bangkok on 25th. This is a 29 day cruise, and I don’t relish having to seek out F & B managers to air concerns over running and problems with catering etc. and staffing, this cruise is fully booked, so it will be busy. we have high expectations as this is our 4th Regent cruise and all previous ones have been fantastic. have Regent sent all the good staff etc. to the Grandeur, if so it doesn’t say much for what they think of the other ships and what the passengers on them expect to receive from Regent. Makes me wonder if never to book a cruise when a new ship is coming on line. not going to cancel, but hope to be pleasantly surprised by the cruise experience. And thank all on this thread who have tried to sort things out for us later cruisers.
  13. Hi, see you on board. It should be a great cruise, already lovely people on this thread. Safe travels πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³ 40 days to go πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  14. We are on this cruise, RSSC sent us the information needed to apply for Indonesia Visa ourselves. We had already done it ourselves, but the information from RSSC was the same we used. It worked. we were also told, we had to have the Indonesia Visa when boarding the ship.so to get the visa on arrival is not an option there is another thread for this cruise, it may help you to apply for your own. As a poster on the thread has uploaded the RSSC information. hope this helps. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  15. Hi, your on! James Bonds tipple of choice, πŸΈπŸΈπŸ›³πŸ›³
  16. Sounds like a plan, like a Vesper Martini too. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ·πŸ·πŸ·πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸΎ
  17. Enjoyed reading all about your adventures on board and off. Amusing and informative. Joining Explorer in November, hoping things improve on the catering side, and you’ve left some champagne 🍾🍾πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚ Safe travels home. We have a villa in Paphos, Cyprus. Love the island. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  18. Yes, they have lit mirrors on Explorer in PH and all other suites. Brilliant magnification too. Conveniently placed on table next to bed, perfect for us ladies, for make up etc. so much better than in the bathroom, as they don’t steam up after showering etc. youtube video of PH suite is really good and shows you everything you need to know. Hope this helps πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  19. Different outfit every night, and all the glitzy accessories,I don’t want to wear on a cruise what I wear everyday at home, I’ll be the one with all the bling on. Since Covid, I said I was going to make the most of my cruises and just go for it. Who knows what’s around the corner. Enjoy the cruise your way, dress to impress, even if it’s only your partner. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  20. We were put in the Mandarin Oriental for our cruise in March. It was a fabulous Hotel. We were on Miami to Lisbon, so can’t help with the Hotel used in Barcelona. Enjoy your cruise.πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  21. On board, everything is fantastic. Great food, shows, trivia, off to a Silversas Gold event tonight then dinner at Pacific Rim, I think it’s going to be a good good night. Safe travels everyone, 200 cruisers staying on for the T/A voyage. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
  22. Good description. I’ll look forward to the fudge with my after dinner coffee and liqueur.
  23. Any change to the petit fours, they have been around for years. Surely a chef can think up something new.
  24. Agree. We we able to watch Episode 3 (don’t know how) but we did. It was slightly better. More about the actual ship, good portion shown of the catering aspect. Chef purchasing fish for a new dish etc. also change over of Captains, so thought the following episodes might have been more of that ilk. Maybe we’ll see more or maybe we will not. Do we wait with bated breath, no I’ll just look forwards to boarding her in 25 days. πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³πŸ›³
