  1. I usually bring 1500-2000. About 200 of that in small Bill's for tips. In Spain last fall I brought 1000 in Euros and 1000 in U.S. Currency. Unfortunately half the time our Credit Cards/Debit cards didn't work. Blame it on connection problems, whatever. One night cards worked fine in a grocery store or restaurant, the next night not. (We stayed in Barcelona 4 days before Cruise)

    Enjoy your trip!

  2. If you plan to get into Sagrada Familia, make reservations online now. These are timed reservations. If you  don't make reservations you may not get to see the inside, there are a limited number of reservations each day, the line for people waiting to see if they can get in is extremely long.

I hope you are staying a few days in Barcelona. Beautiful city, very nice people, easy to get around. Wonderful food!

While on the topic of the Quest - What would you say is the minimum age to go to it? I remember Abe Hughes saying Love and Marriage is PG13 but can't remember hearing anything about Quest.

Rated R. Heckuva lot of fun.

  4. You will be glad you booked the later flight. I was there in October. We got to the airport quickly. We got checked in quickly. Then came a nightmare of going through Security. There were hundreds of people in line. 4 lines of Security people. Then came a very small space to show passports. Many many ppl in a tiny area with zero control (in spite of ropes off areas) to get to 4 ppl checking passports. People were shoving, missing flights It was awful. Stay a day or two in Barcelona if you can, it's gorgeous. Allow plenty of time for security.

  5. Best Cruise ever. I've now been twice. The scenary is breathtaking. The weather was predicted as rain for 7 days and it hardly rained at all. Temp in 50s. In Ketchikan I did The Deadliest catch tour thru the ship. So much fun. There's so much to see and do. Although very expensive, we heard the tour where you take z helicopter to the glaciers and then take a dog sled is well worth it. Do NOT grab anybody off the dock for an seaplane ride. On our trip the seaplane hit a tree branch and came down. Everyone survived but I expect it was terrifying.
