Having gone to doctor on board I sent to insurance to get reimbursed.  Received an email yesterday they need to know where ship was the day I went to doc.  Any ideas how to get the old itinerary?  Thanks

There’s an app called Ship Mate that would let you see a past itinerary. It’s great for tracking past and future cruises

Depending on where you are sailing out of...My daughter-in-law was able to find a woman in Fort Lauderdale that rents them.  I believe she brought it to our hotel and then picked it up at the airport as we were leaving.

We are sailing out of Fort Lauderdale next month and have requested a crib for our grandson. I have the same concern as the original poster. If you could share the information on renting, I’d be very grateful

As stated in the example that started this thread there was no age limit booking direct. So is Princess being lazy and using old print?  Insurers can cover anything for a fee

No one said that there is no age limit booking direct. If you’re talking about my post, I shared a website for a company that offers snorkeling tours. I have no idea who even operates the Princess excursion

Not to mention, if they were able to book it and go and something happened to them, the insurance company that covers the excursion would not have to pay out, as they violated the contract.

That's a good point, if you do sign up knowing that you are over the age limit and manage not to get caught and kept from going, there might be a concern about whether own travel insurance would cover you if something were to happen.

  5. I would always choose the do my land tour first then sail south.

First, the land tour is hectic with packing and moving frequently while the cruise includes time to relax.

Second, I preferred getting the longer flight out of the way first when we started our trip in Fairbanks and finished in Vancouver.

  6. I wouldn’t miss booking a bucket list itinerary on the date that works for me. We had a great experience on the Island for an ocean to ocean Panama Canal cruise through the historic locks.

The biggest issue I have with the Island Princess is the dungeon-like fitness center, but the gym is a relatively small part of the day for most of us.

I feel the same way about the international Cafe, they are nice, but as long as I can get specialty coffee elsewhere, it’s not a big deal.

  7. If you buy the Plus fare package, you will need to purchase it for at least the first two passengers on the reservation (assuming the three of you are sharing one cabin) at $60 per person per day for a total of $120 per day.

If you paid individually for crew appreciation for both of you ($16 each per day), wi-fi for just 1of you ($25 per day), the zero alcohol package for both of you ($35.39 per person per day) you would pay over $128 per day.

Only you can say whether it makes sense. Coffee, bottled water, sodas etc can add up.

To each their own. I have no reason to justify what I do or don't do. Like I previously said, cell phones, internet are very convenient and makes our live easy when we really need them.

Agreed, if you don’t want to take advantage of conveniences, you certainly don’t have to. I was simply answering your question. I personally wouldn’t be able to cruise as often or as long as I do if internet and smart phones were not available.

    Hi all,

I am seeing in some daily patterns that there is an hour of Complimentary acupuncture walk in clinic.

I’ve always seen acupuncture on cruises with a $150-$300 cost.  Does Princess offer free acupuncture sessions or does anyone know what this is?

    Thank you.

These are presentations or “consultations” that are designed to encourage you to book treatments. There is a charge for the treatments.

So true. It’s like asking can’t you get along without electricity or cars. I guess people got along without them at some point but who would want to ?

You make a good point.  I'm sure there were lots of people who thought the telephone itself was silly and needless when it was first invented. I certainly didn't see a day when we'd all want or need a computer at home, much less in our pockets, when I first started using one.

What did you do before you had a cell phone? Would you not cruise if you didn't have a cell phone? How would you get by if you lost your cell phone while on a cruise? What would you do if you got on a cruise and found out you had no cell phone service? What did you do before the ships had internet service?

It's one thing to be gone for a week or two, but I honestly can't imagine considering a month, much less a world cruise, without internet access. Prior to having smart phones and access to the internet, it was much more difficult to be away from home for long periods of time. Today, it's possible to monitor and pay bills, keep in touch with friends and family, book and change travel and tour arrangements, be easily reached by work, house sitters etc.

My phone also has replaced my camera, alarm clock, and many, many sheets of printed paper.

We cancelled a Alaska cruise from San Francisco  because there were no Primcess people that could help us . Many phone inquiries are directed off shore to the Phillipines & although nice people they do not have knowledge when it pertains  to parking & transport conncetions for Handicapped people

In general we found that there is inadequate cruise parking structures & then transport to the ship on pier 27 Embarcadero . Thus ,we won't drive from San Diego to San Francisco with hotel ,meal & das expenses which are quite high to a city that has inadequate parking for cruises . It is a shame that such a beautiful city has such bad   accommodations in their parking structures & then extremely high parking prices .

In general ,we see this lack of parking a determent to the future of cruises starting from San Francisco

If you must drive, one option is renting a car for a day at departure and return and not having to worry about parking it.

As for information on parking facilities, it’s generally the port that has the most accurate information available rather than individual cruise lines. I assume you checked their website and the homeport board here on Cruise Critic?

Thank you everyone who have been so helpful in answering my questions as this is my first Princess cruise.

If my cruise docks at Fort Lauderdale at 6AM, would an 11AM flight be realistic if I have priority disembarkation?

Assuming the ship is cleared in a timely manner it should be fine. Disembarkation for walk-off passengers carrying their own luggage can start as early as 6:30. We have been as late as 9:40 for the first walk-off though once when clearance was delayed.

Are you flying domestic or international? Do you have bags to check? Do you have TSA pre-check?

Am a bit skeptical that everything will:

Be in place on June 17th

The app will work properly on the 17th.

The app will be able to handle the hundreds of thousands of dinner reservations.

How many booked, but before final.payment will be frustrated that day.

Communicated by Princess before thec17th in an email to every TA, CVP and passenger exactly how to navigate the new procedure.

My concern is that moving to a single dining room for daily reservations will make it very difficult to make a booking at popular times like 7:00 or 7:30.  Of course, I’m out of luck since I’ll be on a cruise so blocked from managing any future sailings 😡

Thanks. I have been searching high and low all afternoon. The different sites start out looking promising, but once I put in the number of people (3) and date (June 6), everything evaporates. Waiting to hear back from one tour company that might be sitting on some tickets.

I can recommend Lunae Tours if you want to reach out to individual tour companies in the area. No idea if they’ll have tickets but I used them for a private tour to the Cinque Terre from Genoa last summer and they were terrific

How comfortable or uncomfortable is the bed.  My past experience is princess is worst then rccl then msc with ncl regular rooms and haven more comfortable than any other bed anywhere other than my own.  I'm hoping princess is better now?

Most people think the beds are very, very comfortable. We both really like the beds on Enchanted.
