  1. Thats the offical party line. They need to cover their butt from complaints about the wind.

There are no locks on the sliding glass doors (Regal/Royal) for the balcony.

Well I would certainly hope there are no locks! But if we can't sit out on our balcony while the ship is sailing then why have that cabin. Such a shame the Club Class cabins were selected for that location.

  2. Funny, I just spoke to a Princess Rep today about this very topic. We will be on the Majestic in May (Barcelona to Rome) and I wanted to change to a Club Class Cabin. The available cabins (I don't remember if they were M-1 or M-6) were on the front of the ship on the Lido deck and the deck under that. The rep told me that we would NOT be able to use the balcony on those front facing cabins because the wind is too strong while the ship is sailing. So, obviously we kept our existing mini-suite. I am not sure if this is a concern only on Med cruises or any cruises.

  3. We booked the sip and sale promotion last year for our British isle cruise for July 2016. There was a price drop of $1000/pp. so yes we rebooked with the new price but lost the sip and sail..

Thank you Ours is a seven day cruise and the promotion also includes one specialty dinner for two Just trying to find out how much the Sip and Sail will be worth. Over the years we have been able to switch to a lower fare many times, but I've never had to worry about rebooking due to a promo.

  4. Honestly, if there is a "downtown" we did not see it. We drove past a new hospital, a new cluster of commercial buildings (bank, etc.) one gas station, a home improvement center they called Home Depot, the museum, a school and a pretty village that was built around a pond in the center of the island. These were not clustered together, but were spread out along the main street - which I think was Pond Street. We had a wonderful time getting lost and laughing everytime our cart backfired!!! We were afraid the residents would think it was gun shots! The views from the lighthouse at the north end of the island were beautiful. We were not able to find Governor's Beach or the Bohio Dive Resort. The map I printed out and the one Nathan gave us were not much help because there were very few street signs and lots of dirt roads. My DD did the driving on the left and did not have a problem. The streets are narrow, so if you come across another car (didn't see many) just get out of their way on the opposite side of the street! :D It was still lots of fun and we were glad we did it.

  5. Nathan said that we where to find him, that he would give us some quick information on the cart, and a map and send us out to have fun.

He sounds like a really nice guy.

I also called him to give me my CC number as I didn't want to email it. He didn't answer so I left a message that I'd call back (why make him pay for the call, right?) But a few minutes later - he must have gotten my number off caller ID and he called.... and ran the charge right then and there - giving me a verbal confirmation that it went through just fine.

    I can't wait!

Where did he tell you to meet him? I din't think to ask!!!

  6. I e-mailed Nathan my cc info 3 days ago to rent 2 carts for 8/24. Still waiting for confirmation. He replied to my last e-mail in 2 days. How long does it usually take for confirmation? My cc hasn't been billed yet.

I had the exact same problem! I called him after about 3 days and he e-mailed me a short sentence, "Confirmed."

  7. We flew into FLL last summer and stayed at the SpringHill Suites by the airport. Rooms were great. The shuttle from the airport to the hotel was free. We used SAS Transportation to the POM the next morning. I e-mailed Steve a few weeks ahead of time, confirmed with him before I left and he called me the morning of our cruise to give us an update on his arrival time. We were on the pier by 11:15 and on board the Liberty OTS by 11:45. We also used him to get back to FLL after our cruise. Again, so simple. We were a group of 4 and it was $14 each for one way. You can e-mail Steve at ridesas.com.

  8. Depends if the "tour" gave us more than expected, or if it was what we paid for! We've had some excursions that simply take you there, and bring you back....not "tippable" IMO! We've had some excursions that really went out of their way to give us a great time...and we did tip those guides!

Base your decision on your experience. You don't HAVE to tip...you won't be considered rude or cheap....and if they think that, that's THEIR problem---you won't see them ever again! Tip if it's worth it.

    "ditto" for me.

    Well said CB!!!:D

  9. I also vote for a trip to St. John's. Both Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay are gorgeous, with changing rooms and showers. If I were a brave person I would take the ferry myself, but I always worry about missing the ferry and not making it back to the ship! Megan's Bay is pretty but it can't compare to the beaches on St. John.

If you decide to go to St. John, just Google St. Thomas. The offical island website has maps and the ferry schedule. There are two ferry's, but most people take the taxi from the ship to Red Hook and take the short ferry trip from there.

  10. Mary Ann - Just in case you check this board - can you tell me how long the non-infected flea bit sites lasted? It was been three weeks since I was bitten on the beach in Bonaire and it is still red and ugly. I don't think it's infected - just hard and painful. Any suggestions?
