  1. Totally agree with you! We do the same! If we can afford to cruise, we can definitely afford to give a few dollars to those who work so hard to make sure we are well taken care of. We've even tip the pizza maker since we are known to grab a late night snack before bed on a different cruise line. I've always had a part time job in the service industry so I can really relate!

    Fist bump!

  2. To each their own.

I tip throughout the cruise. Waiters, drink servers, bartenders and bathroom attendants. Some large, some small.

I have never had anyone not accept the money and the service thereafter has always been impeccable.

These people bust their humps for OUR enjoyment. I hope my little contributions make their difficult lives a little better.

  3. We were just on Equinox a couple weeks ago and ate in Luminae most nights. Serkan was our main server and he and his team were fantastic. Very professional and a good sense of humor, which made for enjoyable meals. We had a couple other servers there for breakfast/lunch and one night for dinner, and he was definitely our favorite. Not sure if he'll still be on the ship or which section he'll be, but he was serving in the back section when we were there (walk through the main entrance and past the partition). Tell him the honeymoon couple with the mushroom allergy recommended him!

Serkan is the MAN. Sadly, tonight will be our last night to dine with him as our top notch waiter. He has made us all, especially our two teen boys feel so welcome. He has gone above and beyond for us all. I don’t have enough kind words to describe our wonderful dining experiences in Luminae. Humbled.

  4. Just did the catamaran tour today. As seen elsewhere where people complained about the long van ride. I can confirm that and I can also accuse the excursion staff of being deceptive when asked. I purposely inquired about the van ride and was ASSURED that the catamaran would pick up at the pier. That was completely NOT the case. A 35 minute open air jitney to the cat. No verbal guided tour. 40 minutes + back. The driver got pulled over for running a red light.

I don’t mind because the cat and snorkeling were terrific. But the description was false by omission and the excursion staffer was a blatant liar.

Lie to me once and I will eviserate you.

  5. We went on a cruise many years ago (not Celebrity) while the World Cup games were being played Cruise was plagued by bad service all around, lots of employees including bartenders, etc watching the matches instead of doing their jobs.

I can forgive them for that.
