Very true but Dunkin‘ Donuts, BK and Sbarros aren’t completely covering the substantial remodels/replacements some of those buildings got. Oh and Nathan’s, I’m not allowed to get chili dogs on family road trips . . .

Long ago, the turnpike was sold as "once the road is paid for, the tolls would go away." But once the government gets a taste of that suite cash money.... now tolls all over the place. Do they widen the turnpike? No. Any major upgrades? No. All that toll money is re-routed to other pet projects nowadays. The only upgrades they have done to the turnpike is introducing new fancy ways to process your tolls and take your money.

 

Lol, Osceola Parkway. They toll you anywhere and everywhere they can get away with it.

I hate the absolute greed of the Florida Turnpike "Enterprise".

It’s a cash cow scam that won’t go away. They don’t even clearly label what the tolls are at any of the booths to purposely keep the user in the dark.

Now they have changed federally funded interstates into toll lanes in the name of congestion ease. UTTER UTTER BS! Our federal taxes pay for that system.

Currently wearing a Citizen eco satellite as I type. Bought it on Equinox last summer for $700 ish. Super watch, especially for folks like me who cross numerous time zones and are exact time obsessed. Love it and don’t care if I could have saved a few bucks at home. I buy a watch on every cruise. This was the most expensive ever. As a watch "wh0re", I enjoy the hunt and the memories each time piece represents.

The bean counters have every square inch costed out. If an arcade, or whatever, didn’t earn X amount. It would be replaced. Quick.

+1 for Flanigan's. I believe they are the same family that owns Quarterdeck restaurants as well.

Leave early and do the sightseeing. Haulover beach is wide open and the only place where you can see both ocean and intercostal. Leads into lovely Bal Harbor. Lots of classic hotels and the further south you get the more Art Deco style. Go slow be cautious and enjoy.

Tourism is still in recovery mode. It’ll be a long time before the destruction from the hurricanes is rebuilt.

Park at the port. The rest of Miami is too sketchy.

On our recent cruise, there were staff monitoring the swimming pools. Some parents were disappointed that their children were asked to leave the Solarium pool as children are allowed in that pool. Diaper monitoring was taking place at the main pools. Some unhappy parents. Know before you go...

Good to know. The Solarium is for adults. No way these "parents" didn’t know. Glad to hear that staff was making the effort to keep the threat from fecal contamination to a minimum.

83rd and 7th Ave. is miles from the port.

IMO no need for ships larger than the S Class ships.

If you want really fresh seafood, I would recommend Seafood Atlantic. It's a little (and I mean little)place down in the port area. They only have outside dining connected to their market. We stumbled upon it last year and can't wait to eat there again next week!

I can second this! Can’t really go wrong at any of the Port Canaveral eateries.

Kelly's is good, but if I were a visitor then I'd probably prefer Southport simply for the better atmosphere on the water.

I’ll backup what others have said. Once in the terminal in MIA, all good. It’s getting there that is a PIA. FLL is the complete opposite. Easy to get to. Sucks when your there.
