  1. Breathe in, breathe out. No need to panic for two weeks or so. Some people have become addicted to instant gratification (aka the internet) but not all institutions, who are able to do instantaneous reactions. This is not life and deaths , it will come to fruition but it’s going to take a while, and that is the process with his website. No point getting spun up about it. Mix yourself a pitcher of margaritas, pretend you’re on the poop deck, and plan for your cruise. Sweating the issue gets you no where. If after two weeks, then five them a call, but in the meantime go get a pedicure at a place that offers cheap white wine.
  2. the redeposited takes a while since the big shut down. Not every agent can do a poin redeposited, it takes a manager with approval to do so. Lately I have had it happen very quickly or a week or so. Be patient.
  3. The Caribbean is fine for port days, but you may be charged for drinks on embarkation day until you reach international waters. I can verify that is true when sailing from Galveston and New Orleans. Don’t remember about other homeports. In Europe, it varies greatly.
  4. In the day, we called it DD dance when you reached double digits. Better do it now, cuz tomorrow you’re in sing,e digits!
  5. I’ve been on CC for at least a century (well, maybe not that long) and I had forgotten the doc dance. It was always a cause to grin when someone posted that. And I do remember doing it around my kitchen island when I opened my mail. But I guess it changed with the e docs. It’s not quite the same emotional event when your printer spits out your docs and luggage tags, as when they fall into your hands from a cruise line envelope. Big sigh. Maybe we’re all jaded now and the social isolation of the lock down has made us socially more absent, and maybe younger/newer posters are on various social media and us dinosaurs are left here in civil conversation.
  6. Ii went looking for this thread last night and thought the reason I couldn’t find it was Jose Cuervo’s fault or maybe it was Jack 🤨. Wanted to share it with DH as we are stockholders. Finally assumed it was pulled for reasons known by only those behind the curtain.. it was an informative thread and thank you for posting, sorry it was yanked. I’m not fluent in stock markets but it seemed odd to me that, as I read it, all expectations were met or exceeded, but the future projection brought it down in a rather dramatic fashion. Would have liked to hear the takes of those more knowledgeable in this than I. Big sigh.
  7. I think we are going to have a good time getting acquainted on the Prima in February. 🤣
  8. Silly me, I just thought a taco truck was on the shoulder and everyone was stopping for a snack. While I don’t dispute your cattle explanation, I’ve failed to see any cow pies on the roadway, but maybe I’m too focused on taco trucks.
  9. Years ago there was an app that would track your particular cruise, cabin category, etc and would send you an email when there was a drop in what you had booked. They went out of business some years ago. Is there a reliable app anyone here uses?
  10. A friend buys AARP Royal Carib cards and said they cannot be used for DSC. I have read the terns on the CCL card and do not see it excluding DSC. Can anyone weigh in whether the card can or cannot be used for that, please? Thank you, MB
  11. It is my firm belief that every city in Texas is afflicted with a Friday time and space warp. It allows every individual to drive three cars at the same time. It is the only possible explanation for Friday traffic being as horrid as it is.
  12. DCGuy, you will love retirement. But, the temptation is real! We lived in Louisiana and had a steal on a AK cruise, in six days, but the airfare killed us. We were three hours from NOLA then, now we’re a bit over four from Galveston so those deals can be very tempting. Life is good.
  13. I have four NCL cruises booked, all booked as soon after they were posted. Last week I decided to price check them. One was unchanged, but it’s only been a month since booking, the others had gone up. Two were around $600 pp, the other was up $1500 pp 😳.
  14. I think there is some value in citing your status if it clarified that the person has some history of cruising this line (unlike the person who has done two five day cruises on one ship and is now an expert. But the Haven thing is just snobbery unless you are discussing the Haven or it directly relates to the issue at hand. But, as RocketMan noted it is usually just look-at-me ism.
  15. The terminal at which we arrived seemed small but there were a few shops around. It was not very close to downtown,as I recall. When we were there the Prima was arriving (they actually shortened our cruise one day, dropping our overnight onboard) and they could only accommodate one ship at a time. But it was her grand launch party so that took presidency over our ship. if you were to arrive there, there early I don’t think there is much to do.
  16. My guess would be that he had six cruises after this recognition started. Just like we get a level pin on each cruise.
  17. There are several transfer services as well as NCLs service. If you do an internet search for Galveston pier to airport shuttle you will find them. Someone here posted recently about using the one with “ limousine “ in the name and another used the “express” one. Both were pleased. most service both airports.
  18. I didn’t realize they had two itineraries, but then I’ve not sailed HI in several years. I’m glad to know Napoli is not deleted from all the cruises.
  19. That’s a shame. That afternoon sail by the Nepali coast was a highlight of out OOA cruises. 😢
  20. Not necessarily so. In August we were on the Star and there was a very large group onboard. Nice people, no problems at all, but they had one of the MDRs reserved for their group every night. So if you preferred the smaller MDR, you were out of luck. You could still dine when you wanted but not in the quieter, smaller MDR.
  21. Off topic, MSC, but wow you some nice cruises coming up! 😁
  22. Katrina, the problem, as you will find, is that agents, whether it is WP or NCL, may give you wrong answers. In a perfect world every agent would give you the same, correct answer. But I would be very cautious in this going forward. Call another agent, try one at NCL outside of the WP dept and see what they tell you.
  23. We have made it for a noonish flight in the past but that has been some years ago. We are always in the head of the walk off line and do carry on only, and we have Known Traveller passes for security.
  24. I would start with WorldPoints. They should know if the upgrade is a final resolution or if it can be added to with cash. I believe it will that you cannot add on to it but that’s an assumption based on what others have said. But situations change. Let us know what they say, please.
